"Crowne Plaza Istanbul – Old City: Refined Comfort and Remarkable Service (Room 3219) As someone who travels frequently for both professional and personal reasons, often staying in dozens of hotels across different countries each year, I’m not easily impressed. Yet, my recent stay at the Crowne Plaza Istanbul – Old City genuinely stood out. It’s a property that masterfully combines thoughtful design, polished service, and a location that captures the very essence of Istanbul’s history and rhythm. An Experience Worth Remembering Location & Access Situated in the heart of the city’s historic core, this hotel makes exploration effortless. From here, it’s just a short walk to the Grand Bazaar, Sultanahmet, and several key transport links. The setting feels authentic and lively; ideal for guests who want proximity without sacrificing comfort. Room 3219 – Exceptional Comfort The room offered a superb balance of functionality and elegance. It was impeccably clean, featuring plush bedding, perfect lighting for reading or work, and a surprisingly quiet HVAC system, a rarity in city hotels. Small details, like the scent of fresh linen and a spotless bathroom, reinforced the sense of care behind the housekeeping standards. Service & Staff The staff are the heartbeat of this property. Every interaction, from check-in to checkout, reflected professionalism anchored in genuine warmth. They anticipated needs before being asked, making the experience feel personal rather than procedural. This consistency across teams’ front desk, dining, and housekeeping speaks volumes about the culture of service within the hotel. Dining Experience Breakfast was both indulgent and efficient. The buffet selection was diverse, featuring beautifully presented dishes that catered to both international and local palates. The staff handled the morning rush with grace and precision, maintaining quality and attentiveness without any sense of haste. Facilities & Ambience Public areas were spotless and aesthetically cohesive. The fitness and spa areas were well-maintained, creating a serene environment ideal for unwinding after long days in the city. The lounge and lobby were comfortable enough to double as workspaces, a feature that frequent travelers will appreciate. The One Minor Quirk I noticed some early-morning noise, mostly the seagulls, a distant metro vibration, and a faint scratchy sound around 6 a.m. While this didn’t detract from the overall stay, it’s worth noting for lighter sleepers. It’s a subtle reminder that even in the most refined settings, Istanbul’s energy has its own morning rhythm. Final Thoughts What defines the Crowne Plaza Istanbul – Old City isn’t just its luxury—it’s the consistency of experience. Every aspect feels considered and intentional. Having stayed at countless hotels across Europe, the Middle East, and North America, it’s rare to find one that strikes this balance of local charm and international polish. I often recommend property to colleagues who travel as frequently as I do, and this one has already made it to the top of that list. It leaves one wondering: how might the experience differ in another season, on a higher floor, or in one of the suites overlooking the skyline? Would the same quiet elegance and seamless service hold up under different conditions? Those are questions I find myself curious to explore again, perhaps sooner than I planned."

"The hotel is located as conveniently as possible, in a few minutes from the metro station and the bus stop of Osmanbei, which allows it to forgive all its shortcomings. Of the pluses, except for convenient location, it is a good cheese Turkish breakfast, where there are omlets, eggs, different greens, fruits and vegetables, lots of varieties of olive and cheese. The hotel is located in an old historical building with wooden windows. The street is parallel to the main but quiet and comfortable, there are lots of local clothing shopping, garment shops. There are grocery stores next to it. Table room on the 6th floor with a beautiful view from the terrace to the city. Staff are kind and friendly people. There is a TV and a refrigerator in the room. They give toothpaste and brush on request. No insects. Good price. From the downsides, the walls require paint, on them traces of shoes, the window is dropped, washing the toilet is badly working. Bedding with traces of lipstick, and other pollutants. The overall condition of the room is dirty, cleaning for 5 nights was made only twice, at request, the towels change at request. They were in April, it was cool, heated from the air conditioner. In general, I recommend to non-candidate tourists who are not going to sit in the hotel, but plans to do business in the city, hotel for night and breakfast - ideal."

"I was a bit surprised when I first arrived, wondering how this hotel could be considered an 'influencer' hotel. But after checking in, I really understood its appeal. The front desk staff were friendly, and the location is fantastic – you pass Taksim Square every morning and evening, and Istiklal Avenue is right next to it. The restaurants near the hotel are also affordable and delicious, especially the pomegranate juice, which was excellent! I highly recommend this hotel."

"Breakfast has a nice selection and a good view of the Bosphorus. Special mention to 2 staff: Miss Alev at the reception (very kind and accommodating to requests) and the lady waitress serving the buffet from 29 December 2025 to 01 Jan 2026 (she wears spectacles and looks a bit East Asian, she is very hardworking). Overall a good stay with helpful staff."

"I live in the centre of Istanbul, I just wanted a night in the middle of nowhere to relax and this place is great. Super clean, huge comfy bed, best shower ever, amazing buffet breakfast with huge variety of dishes, spotless spa in the basement with sauna, hamam, steam room and heated pool. Not a sound in the room, I had a great sleep. The receptionists are rude and won't even say Hello but it's Turkey, I expect it. The breakfast staff will take your plate away while you're eating but again, Turkish behaviour. There are cockroaches in the room but not too many and not too big. Would definitely recommend it, great value for money"

"The best advantage of this hotel is its location, next to restaurants and bars. Heart of Istanbul. However, for those who value peace and quiet, this can also be a drawback, as in the evenings there is a lot of music and noise, especially noticeable on the first floor (it may be quieter on higher levels). The hotel itself is fairly clean, well-kept, and relatively new compared to many others in Istanbul. Breakfast is definitely worth including – it’s excellent, with a wide variety of fresh options, Turkish tea and coffee, and even made-to-order omelets. Staff don’t rush you out when breakfast time ends, and they keep replenishing dishes, which is a big plus. On the downside, the reception could be friendlier, and the staff’s English level is quite limited. For example, when we requested extra bedding, room service brought us fries instead. Additionally, in September the rooms were cold, and unfortunately only the air conditioning worked – the heating did not. The restaurant downstairs, Pera 77, offers live music in the evenings. In our case, the singer was late, performed only a few songs, then took a break and never returned before we left. Food quality was mixed: the soup and cheese platter were good, but the steak was tasteless and the fries soggy. Overall, the hotel is a good option if you want a lively location with outstanding breakfasts, but be aware of noise and some service limitations."

"The service at the reception was 5-star and the location is very convenient. The gym is excellent. I was disappointed the hamam was cold and there was no indoor or outdoor pool or hot spring / onsen. The sauna staff were very focused on selling packages than helping the customers - for example the water dispenser was not working and no one was interested to fix it. There is no area in the hotel for smoking (like a terrace or smoker’s area) so you need to leave the hotel."

"The hotel itself was quite nice and most people in the service were friendly. However, communication was a bit complicated because their English was so so. That being said, most of the staff made an effort and we managed to understand each other. The rooms are big and recently renovated. The spa is good. The breakfast was very nice. The transport to the airport was nice as well. And the driver was super friendly. All in all for the price was quite good. There were a few things we didn’t like. The young boy who accompanied us to the room demanded insistively for a big tip just to carry in the elevator the luggage that we didn’t need any help. We offered 3 € and said more. We went to the lobby and offered to give a small tip in Turkish lira. The person at the desk said we didn’t had to give a tip if we didn’t want to. And he was angry but let it be. This was a very bad experience. In the pictures you can see the door of the shower was missing. There was a bit of molde in the bathroom. And the room was not well isolated from the road, so we could hear all night the cars and trucks going by since it’s in an industrial area. To sum up. It’s good value for the price. We were quite satisfied overall. Only a few details would make this a great experience. They should look into it because it’s just a few details after all the amenities they have put effort into making the hotel a comfortable and attractive experience."
