Hands down the worst experience of a hotel I've ever had. I had a room overlooking a tiny yard off the kitchen. Could clearly hear the conversations of staff into the early hours and again from 6.30am. It's not an exaggeration to say I turned a few times to see if there was someone in the room with me because the voices were so near and clear. The sound of the fan went all night. People coming and going also caused disturbance as the doors slam when closing. I could hear people talking in other rooms, including one woman asking someone if they were OK followed by hearing someone throwing up repeatedly. I emailed the hotel on my return and they did try to ring me once but I was at work and couldn't answer. I've entailed twice since but have had no response. I made it clear I wasn't looking for anything as I would never return here again.

The hotel is very clean, the rooms are a good size. Our room even had a fridge. However the bathroom had some rotten timber work and evidence of effects of leaky shower/bath. WiFi didn't work, no beer mats available and no snacks like crisps etc behind the bar. We didn't have our dinner there but had a few drinks in the bar. There was no atmosphere in the bar. Everyone just seemed to come in and straight to bed Staff not overly friendly either. Cheap stay and we got what we paid for.

The staff were pleasant and the food was okay, but our room (14) was awful. It was over the kitchen services area and smelt dreadfully of fried food all the time. The toilet seat was broken, the shower cubicle was broken and the sink was coming loose from its housing . They did knock a bit off the bill, but We certainly wouldn’t stay there again if visiting the area. Three female cousins travelling together, 2 from the US one from the UK.

Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. + Great breakfasts. King Room with plenty of storage and a sea view. Smaller though than the other room which was a double. Great location. Good value. Lovely staff. - Paper thin walls, can hear everything in nearby rooms. Had dinner one night x 3. 2 had fish n chips, v poor, v greasy.

We stayed for 2 nights in a king room with a sea view. This was during the recent heatwave too ! Our room was clean on arrival and the room was cool considering the weather. Up to the top floor via stairs, and there was a nice coffee machine in the room too. The bathroom is small enough but I understand there are restrictions to what you can do in an old building. Shower was fine. We spent most of our time out of the room as would be expected. We'd stay again if in Ballybunion, however there are a few things that could improve the room in my opinion. 1. There is no chair to sit in, just to relax in the room, sit on the bed or nowhere. 2 For the ladies, the placement of the long mirror is a bit awkward to use. 3 The doors on each floor are close together, and do slam when guests enter or leave, so either you need guests to be more considerate, or tighten the arms on the door hinge mechanism that slow or soft closes the door, because they don't currently work :-) Breakfast was ok, nothing special on the morning we had it. The waitress was great and food was quick, but my rashers seemed steamed and just kept hot, and the overall breakfast was just ok. It actually made us decide not to go down the 2nd morning. The hotel was very kind in allowing us a later checkout on the day of departure, but we didn't actually need it. Another positive, is the price point we paid, for what we spent for 2 nights with breakfast, I feel it was great value.

We visited Ballybunnion and stayed in this lovely hotel for the second time. The staff once again were extremely helpful and friendly. We had an evening meal and breakfast during our stay, both were cooked and presented to a very high standard. We were very impressed. There is excellent WiFi in the hotel. Our room was very nice, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you for a very nice experience.

Super location, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, the room was a little small and stuffy, there was a noisy kitchen fan outside the room window. But overall it was a very good value for money stay. Parking across the road €3 per night.

My family and I were very disappointed leaving the hotel .we were refused dinner both nights except I had to beg for a table the first night after a very long journey and small child with me.at 4pm this occurred. The staff were very rude no eye contact just grunted and didn't even set the tables properly .a pot of tea was brought down so a few minutes later I got up to grab sugar ,cups, and spoons and we were grunted at again and told not to touch stuff. I was shocked to be honest. Can I help u would be a better thing to say.!!the dinner was lovely i have to say but breakfast was another saga,Green eggs in the microwave all in one lump l and a big raw tomatoe on the side. Was I surprised, no.I wish there was a manager there but didn't seen any all week. Myself and my family are probably too quiet and just did what we were ordered to do but is this normal behaviour for waiting staff these days to be so unfriendly. I wanted to ask the staff about local activities etc but knew I would only be grunted at so I left it. I have never witnessed this before as long as I am going on holidays Times have definitely changed .I paid by card and gave no tip which probably got their back up.
