Overall, the hotel is generally good, especially for the spa and hot spring service. However, the hotel is quite dated and some of its facilities are quite old. The pillows in the room is very flat and hard to sleep on. For the location, the hotel is located quite far away from Zhiben Station so travelling to the resort can be quite a hassle. But the hotel does provide free shuttle service but you have to pre book beforehand.

The room facilities were quite new, and the staff were always friendly and smiling, making for a very comfortable and worthwhile stay. The breakfast spread was extensive, featuring local delicacies like roselle tea, and even included a vegetarian section, which was a great bonus!

I think the biggest draw and benefit of visiting Dongyuji is soaking in the hot springs to unwind after a long day. Dongyuji's spa area is truly enormous (even larger than Dongtai). Adults can choose from a variety of hot springs, and children also have plenty of pools to choose from! I personally love hotels with saunas and hot springs! Dongyuji's park is also quite large, so early risers won't have to worry about running out of space! There's even a camping area!

The location is in southern Taidung. Consider the fact that Taidung require 2hour driving from north to south, this location make it little difficult to see northern Taidung attractions. But the hot spring in this town is the best. The hot spring in this hotel use genuine underground hot spring water, your skin can feel the difference while enjoying it.

A well-maintained old hotel, perfect for families with young children enjoying hot springs and vacations; good value for money.
The beverage and snack area next to the lobby is very popular and always crowded.
The hot spring water is so clean you can enjoy it even from your room.
The biggest drawback is the poor soundproofing; when families with friends or family are on vacation, the kids can be noisy even at 10 pm, making it a bit disturbing.

Room rate $3545/The lady at the front desk who checked in that day had a grumpy face but no smile at all (this is our second stay, but there won't be a third time). It's acceptable to be told that there are no disposable amenities, but what's unacceptable is that after entering the room, I found that there were no disposable or reusable slippers, so I called the front desk to tell them. She said that she needed slippers and they were not cheap, 60-80 each, which is ridiculous. (The lady said it was because his slippers were thick). There are carpets inside. Do you want us to walk barefoot? The carpets don’t look very clean. Of course we have to wear our outdoor shoes to walk around in the room. It is very inconvenient, especially after taking a shower. We really need to report this to the owner. Since you are responding to the government’s activities, you also have to consider the actual internal conditions of your hotel and not cause any inconvenience to the guests!
I also suggest that there is a small afternoon tea room on the first floor which serves some powdered coffee drinks and simple and cheap biscuits. I think it can be removed
1. The landlady was very kind and upgraded me from a 4-person room to a connecting room, and even gave me two extra large bottles of mineral water.
2. The guesthouse is located in a building, like a shared apartment.
3. The hot spring was very comfortable, but there were some dark impurities in the bathtub; I'm not sure if this is normal.
4. The bed was comfortable, but frankly, the equipment was quite old.
5. Parking is nearby, very convenient.
6. There are several restaurants and snack shops nearby, so you won't go hungry.
(For breakfast, I strongly suggest not calling to order from a breakfast shop for convenience; buy directly from the shop to see the cleanliness.)
7. The Zhiben Forest Recreation Area is nearby, a short drive away.

At the beginning, the cabins that were rationed were quite old. Fortunately, the hotel helped us change to the large room of the main building of the hotel in response to the typhoon. It was really a good location to the magnificent mountain view. I woke up in the morning and opened the door again. It was still beautiful. It was shocking, the room was comfortable and the hot spring was comfortable. The spa massage is great, the breakfast is normal, and the dinner is not bad.

The boss and his wife were very enthusiastic, and they were happy to chat and helped me prepare breakfast (I didn't order food that day). The room is on the first floor. Although it is not big, there is no less, but the door is facing the kitchen. People who are used to getting up late may hear the sound of breakfast. If they are used to getting up early, it will not affect them. Thank you for the warm hospitality of the boss and his wife.

The room was not clean enough, with dust all over the floor edge and near the bed; the bed was soft, and it shook noticeably when you turned over; the floor was solid wood, and it was probably uneven because of its age; the sound of people talking in the corridor was very clear; the bathroom had a high hot water pressure and was comfortable; the public hot spring pool was simple, with a dehydrator; the water dispenser was only available on the first floor

Excellent
Kkateyang23This hostel is very suitable for backpackers. The room is so comfortable and the price is very affordable. If you travel with friends, the price of the two-person room per one person is almost the same as the room that has 4 single beds for 4 individuals.
The photo is a random photo, but look how comfortable the atmosphere is. I like the tone of the room which is white and earth tone.
GGuest UserSo happy I stayed here for this price! It's super artsy everywhere, the decor and murals are gorgeous. The room was incredibly clean – I don't know how they keep the glass so spotless and transparent. The common areas are also very tidy; I saw them wiping everything with alcohol, which felt very reassuring. The location is also convenient, within walking distance to Tiehua Village and Haibinparks. I'll definitely be back!
GGuest UserThe hotel's decor is beautiful, but the room soundproofing is poor.
The central air conditioning had an unpleasant odor.
The breakfast was excellent, very thoughtfully prepared, and the dining environment was lovely.
Overall, it was acceptable.
It's close to Taitung Bus Station, a 3-minute walk from the hotel, making it convenient for travel and transportation. This trip was great!
The service from the front desk staff could be improved.
GGuest UserPool was under maintenance during the period of stay. Location though at night market was still a distance away from railway station. Taxi fare abt TWD220. There was hotel shuttle service but no clear instructions on how to book in advance. Info not available on trip.com. Concierge staff did not readily offer the service also. Was told only available to members. Not for 3rd party booking. Am disappointed.
Room was spacious. 2 queen size beds. But toilet and bathroom were small. Head will hit the door if I sit at toilet bowl and lean just a bit forward. The bathroom door hits the rain shower head, so if not notice, and open the door with force may break the glass door.
Yellow lights in the room were very dim. Make ambience cozy and classy but very straining to the eyes.
2 out of 3 laundry machines out of order. Laundry powder did not dispense from vending machine. Hv to change coins at lobby when laundry is at 6th floor.
Overall, not quite up to expectations unfortunately.
GGuest UserAn Exceptional Stay Beyond Expectations!
Waking up in the morning to a breath of fresh air, with sunlight gently illuminating the vast green fields and the soothing sounds of birds chirping—it’s an instant moment of relaxation. The guesthouse is impeccably maintained, offering a peaceful and nature-filled retreat, truly a hidden paradise for relaxation.
The highlight of the stay was the coffee machine provided by the guesthouse—offering Starbucks-quality finely ground coffee with an irresistible aroma. Enjoying a freshly brewed cup while gazing at the beautiful scenery outside made every moment of the trip feel worthwhile. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with thoughtful details that showed great hospitality.
If you’re looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle and immerse yourself in nature, this is undoubtedly the best place to stay in Taitung. I will definitely be coming back next time I visit! 🌿☀️☕
IIrvineMom820Our stay at this hotel was a mixed experience, and overall, I wouldn't consider it worth the cost.
The hotel itself is old, and the facilities feel very dated. While it boasts a large swimming pool and spa areas, they were unusable during our stay as they were running with cold water. We didn’t see anyone using them. The “beauty pool,” which was advertised as having heated water, was disappointing due to a strong sewer-like smell. Additionally, the sauna is not complimentary for hotel guests, which felt unreasonable.
The dining experience was also underwhelming. The à la carte food in the restaurant was below average in quality, the portions were small, and the prices were high. However, the atmosphere was pleasant, though it felt odd being the only customers at 8 p.m. On a brighter note, the breakfast was excellent. I would rate it four stars for its variety of local and aboriginal food, which was a highlight of the stay.
The timing of activities for kids was inconvenient as well. While kids could play pool and ping pong for free in the evening (after we arrived at 7 p.m.), all other activities were scheduled for late morning or early afternoon, after checkout time.
The hotel’s location is another drawback. It is far from restaurants and busy areas, making it necessary to have a car or take a taxi.
The one positive aspect of our stay was the room. We booked the premium family room/suite, which provided separate sleeping areas for parents and kids—a feature we appreciated. However, this came at a premium price, costing 25% more. I had requested a room with a view, and the front desk clerk was accommodating, which I appreciated.
Overall, while the room and breakfast were nice, the rest of the experience didn’t justify the cost or the inconvenience. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made to the facilities and services.
SSS玩The boss is very nice and knows what guests need to pay attention to.
The accommodation is the best value for money and is friendly to non-smoking guests. The bathroom appliances are functioning properly and intact. The only drawback is the lack of hooks and countertop space.
There will be shared facilities on the first floor, such as water dispenser, refrigerator, and your own beverage area.
There are massage chairs etc. .
Can come again
TtwinkleracI had a pleasant stay at Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel 4 years ago, so thought I'd try Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel II this time, as they are located near to each other, very close to the bus station and Tiehua Village. This is a great location to explore the city. However, other than the superb location and the bigger room, there isn't much else to love about this hotel.
There was literally no service at this branch. Staff were not welcoming and unlike other hotels in Taiwan, they do not greet guests when you are at the lobby. I also never saw any of them smile at guests. In fact, on my first day of check-in, I was blatantly told to check in at Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel instead, because ”the hotel is closed for the day”. When I asked how come I was not informed earlier, the staff answered ”because you don't have a Taiwan mobile number”. This is absurd to me, isn't there the Trip.com messaging service where you can contact guests? Very disappointed with the way they handle such cases, no apology at all, and just gives a very transactional feeling. The only time I encountered a staff who greeted me was at the breakfast restaurant.
Room amenities and facilities look like they need proper maintenance, and the windows were so dirty. The bed was also not very comfortable to sleep on.
Lastly, I know Taiwan hotel breakfasts are usually not so nice compared to eating out in the breakfast shops, but the quality of the breakfast was really bad. Seasonal fresh fruit selection was only watermelon on 1 morning, and guava + watermelon on another.
In conclusion, very disappointed with my stay here this time. Will definitely think twice about returning to Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel II the next time I visit Taitung again.
GGuest UserThis is a really cosy place. I really love my room. Clean and modern interior. The only downside might be the location. It's close to the train station. But there isn't much nearby for food. Probably best to rent a scooter to explore Taitung anyway to make your stay more convenient. They are plenty of scooter shops near the train station too.
Yyona vanI had booked a room in the “hostel” section, but it’s actually more of a hotel pretending to also be a hostel. The cleanliness in the room left much to be desired (from what i could see the window sill is clearly never cleaned, hair on the clean sheets, etc.). On top of that, the lockers are fake in the sense that they don’t lock, so they’re basically just cupboards that anyone can open.
As for the bathroom, some of the shower doors are broken and were literally left abandoned inside the shower. What was my surprise to see that there were cockroaches ?? The next day, I came back to the room to take a shower and there was no electricity in the bathroom anymore.
I asked for compensation because the price I paid was completely disproportionate to the state of the facilities. The receptionist was friendly and offered to move me to a private room (in the hotel section), but the problems continued: when I opened the bathroom door, I once again found cockroaches. Moreover, the humidity doesn’t seem to evacuate properly, and there’s a nauseating smell inside. The lock on the door leading from the room to the hallway doesn’t work. The finishing of the construction work is terrible, nothing is right.
In short, my advice is : do not come to this hotel.
