This homestay is really beautiful. Although it is deep in the alley, the arrangement is very considerate. The front desk can help call a tuk-tuk to go to restaurants near the beach. The whole hotel is right by the canal, with different birds and wild peacocks visiting on the balcony. The facilities and equipment are also new. The only drawback is that it is very close to the canal. If it rains at night, the rain is really loud... and there will be small insects visiting the room. But the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. It is a very good accommodation experience.

We stayed for a week at this hotel and later prolonged our stay after traveling to other places in Sri Lanka. Mirissa is amazing. And this hotel's location is perfect, next to beautiful Zouk restaurant. We could also relax on the terrace and enjoy the sunset, watching flying foxes. The room was nice and clean. We had everything we needed. The best local breakfast we have had in Sri Lanka with green curry. The owner family is incredibly nice and friendly. They helped us with any question and were always polite and smiling. It was a very pleasant stay. When we return to Sri Lanka we'll stay at this hotel in Mirissa.

We stayed for 6 nights with breakfast included — and honestly, it felt like a little home in paradise. 🌴 From the moment we arrived, the hosts (couple) were incredibly warm and welcoming. They always made sure everything was comfortable. The place itself is tucked away from the noise, so it’s peaceful but still just a short walk to the beach, cafes, and restos. The room was clean, spacious, and cozy, with great natural light and good AC — perfect after a long beach day. The Wi-Fi was reliable as well. Breakfast every morning was freshly made and absolutely delicious — fruits, eggs, toast, and the kind of Sri Lankan fruit juice that makes you want to stay forever. 🍳☕ What stood out most was the hospitality. The owners went above and beyond to help us with any query we had. You can really feel the care and kindness in this family-run place. If you’re looking for a quiet, clean, and genuinely friendly stay in Mirissa, Village Star Rest deserves all the stars. 🌟 Highly recommended — We would love to come back again!

A beautiful hotel! Would highly recommend to anyone, the staff are absolutely wonderful and hospitable. The food is 10/10 and the rooms are lovely. A nice slice of heaven on the beach. Will definitely be back!

Good location. It is in beach road and plenty of options to eat outside. Everything is in walkable distance. We had sea view room which gave a beautiful start to the day in early morning. The only thing that troubled me was there was no elevator hence I had to take the luggage through stairs to 2nd floor. The owner helped me as well to carry the luggage. I would definitely recommend this place for your stay as it provides a good atmosphere. They have a kitchen for your self cooking where you can prepare your own food. My wife and i had a fantastic stay at coral beach hotel. Very friendly staff. They even gave my wife a lovely gift on our departure. Highly recommended. Watch the surfers from your own private balcony un the sunshine.

The staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile, making the stay even more enjoyable. The food was delightful—fresh, flavorful, and with plenty of options to choose from. I especially loved their seafood dishes, which were prepared to perfection. Another great feature was the location. It’s close enough to Mirissa’s main attractions but far enough to avoid the hustle and bustle, giving you the best of both worlds.
