I stayed at Aman for three nights. The hotel is located on the top of the Lion Mountain. It has an excellent viewing platform where you can have a panoramic view of the ancient city of Lijiang at night. The hotel has a small door next to Wenchang Palace, and you can walk directly to the lively Sifang Street in the center of the ancient city at the foot of the mountain. Before check-in, the housekeeper added WeChat to help me report my license plate number. After check-in, the RR manager also took us to visit the hotel and arranged a Naxi fire pit dinner. It was a very good experience. All the staff in the hotel are very warm and considerate. They will also thoughtfully send menus for breakfast and go there after making arrangements. All in all, everything was very comfortable and I would choose this place again next time I go there.

This hotel resides inside the ancient town very close to the South Gate. The service I received was totally fantastic. All were friendly. They picked us at the gate, prepared some snacks and fruits for our late arrival, and when we left early next morning for the mountain they helped pack breakfast for us. The breakfast offered at the hotel was really good. The rice noodles were the best of all I had at the city. Though the hotel is inside the ancient town, and can hardly be as spacious as intercontinental, the room very large and comfortable. I definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

When visiting Lijiang, I stayed at Kuanshang Hotel, which was an unexpected surprise! The decoration of this store gives people a super warm feeling. Very convenient location about a 1-minute walk from Sifang Square. The main Wuyi Street is a short walk north, and the other big street Qiyi is a short walk south. Room was clean and the staff very helpful. No English is spoken, but I speak some Chinese and the staff can add you on wechat to communicate and share locations. The staff upgraded me, and the room was nice, clean and quiet—despite the very central location. Location could be a bit hard to find the first time, but the Trip.com app opened up Baidu maps for me and led me straight to one of the hotel entrances, though it wasn’t the main one (was just 10m west of the main one). I called the number and the staff guy came right over, so no problem. Other reviewers also say the staff can come guide you over, so you could also try that.

The owner will help you navigate just call ahead. The rooms are nice, however there was a bit of a musty smell in the room I booked.
