Penrose Bed & Breakfast is a Victorian property with original features such as fireplaces, chandeliers and high ceilings. The Eden Project is the world’s largest indoor rainforest and is located just 15 minutes’ drive away from the property. Guests will also benefit from free on-site parking and a garden. Free Wi-Fi is provided in each room at Penrose, as well as an en-suite bathroom, a flat-screen TV with DVD player and tea/coffee making facilities. A full cooked breakfast is served in the dining room each morning and uses locally sourced produce wherever possible. Cereal, fresh fruit and tea/coffee are also available. Great location. Ample on site car parking. A heated outdoor pool. OK in need of some maintenance but just so welcome. Open early to late. Very helpful staff. Bedrooms are comfortable with all the usual features. Breakfast is very good with plenty of choice. Only two downsides. Firstly the lack of a residents lounge - yes you can use the bar area but that is less than cosy. Secondly although the hotel offers dinner on Weekdays the limited menu is set for the month and frankly the choice is poor. With a bit of thought the hotel could become a destination for meals for locals and guests. The pubs offering good food well cooked were rammed so at this time of the year there is plenty of demand. Special shout out for the reception staff. Friendly and helpful with great knowledge of what the area offered the visitor.
