The Virginian Lynchburg, Curio Collection by Hilton

Lynchburg|2.31km from The Nature Zone
I have nothing but the highest praise for the Virginian Hotel and its staff. I also want to thank the owner and whoever else was involved for having the vision and courage to restore this beautiful old building and for taking a chance on downtown Lynchburg. Everything about this hotel greatly exceeded my expectations. The room was nice and quiet with a beautiful view. The bed was very comfortable and I loved the shower. The hotel was immaculately clean throughout. I got excellent service and benefits with my Hilton Diamond status. I wholeheartedly recommend the Skyline and William & Henry restaurants. Both are apparently owned by the same person and the food and service were top notch. We had delicious and memorable meals at both restaurants. What really set the Virginian apart from me was the impeccable service I received from every single employee I encountered, both in the hotel and the restaurants. Everyone was unfailingly polite and helpful. I unfortunately didn't write down the names of all of the employees, but I want to especially compliment the father/son bellman team of Jonathan and Colin, bellman Connor, and front desk staff Memory and Daniel. I have to especially mention Colin, who impressively went straight from his bellman shift during the day to help wait on our table at William & Henry at night and then was right back at his bellman post very early the next morning. I encourage you to stay at the Virginian the next time you visit Lynchburg and urge you to eat at both restaurants. I will definitely stay at the Virginian in the future and want to again thank everyone for a perfect weekend.

Hilton Garden Inn Lynchburg

We would like to share a story about how a staff member at this Hilton Garden Inn went above and beyond. My husband left his computer in the room and we did not realize this until we got home to Ohio. He contacted the hotel and spoke with the evening General Manager. Unfortunately he did not get her name. When her evening shift ended, she took the time to go up to the room to look for his computer. She found it and called us promptly to assure us that it was there. She could have waited until the next day but she did not. She then made arrangements to ship it to us and it arrived a few days later. In addition, the hotel staff were polite, the room was spotless and even though we did not have an opportunity to get the breakfast, I could tell it was great when we went to grab the free coffee in the morning. Also want to point out that this hotel is in a great location, close to everything. We were in town for a wedding but if we are ever in this area, we will make sure we stay here again. Thanks to all at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lynchburg. You are doing a great job!

Extended Stay America Suites - Lynchburg - University Blvd

I would like to take a moment to recognize Shelly, front desk Extended Stay America in Lynchburg, VA. Upon my early arrival for check-in. I decided to introduce myself to front desk and ask a few questions regarding my weekend stay. Shelly greeted me immediately with a cheerful smile and actually acknowledged me by name after only a brief telephone conversation informing her of my early arrival just a few hours prior. Not only was she more than happy to assist me, she answered all of my questions (most regarding my 2 cats I travel with) and even offered great suggestions to the surrounding area as I wait to check in. Being approached by someone with such a pleasant demeanor with extensive knowledge and willingness to accommodate is more than enough. And compounded by a warm and friendly disposition, sharp attire and a professionalism that supercedes most, I feel more than obligated to recognize outstanding employees who demonstrate these qualities with such ease. Thanks Shelly, I'm definitely looking forward to this weekend stay!! - Carl

This hotel is the best economic chain hotel I have ever stayed in. The health, service and facilities are excellent. The front desk has a beautiful woman and the smile is super sweet. Compared with other hotels that have stayed at the hotel, this is the most cost-effective and highly recommended! The hotel has a parking lot, there is a restaurant next to it, and there is a large shopping center not far from the car, you can buy things.
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lynchburg at Liberty Univ.

I reserved a suite at this hotel from Dec 27 to 31. When I arrived, the last suite available, room 215, was left unclean with the door jambed open and master bed unmade. I had to relocate to rooms 509 and 511 for the first night, while being charged for both the suite and the new room, since there were 2 people in my party and we needed separate living quarters. For the last 3 nights, I was put in room 515, a suite, but never could find management to explain the double charge for the first night. Sadly, while in room 515, the master bath toilet leaked every time my friend flushed and maintenance had to come in and repair that while we were out. Now, after arriving home and checking my statement on my credit card, I can see that I was charged the original amount over two reservations. Very confusing. Having someone to talk to while I was there would have saved a ton of angst. I felt that due to the room change, lack of cleanliness, readiness and confusing lodging bill the hotel should've compensated me in some measure for the inconvenience and frustration. Since they didn't, I have no choice but to assign a poor review.

We can't speak highly enough about the staff here. Our son got married this past weekend and we had about 20 rooms here. We all felt welcome by the friendly front desk staff. Breakfast crew and housekeepers. We used the breakfast area at night as a gathering place to visit and play board games. Manager Steve was able to rent out the big conference room the last morning to us for a family breakfast. That was a good private spot to catch up with each other. We were really glad that this hotel had space for our guests. The location was also convenient to all wedding events too.
