Le Malve Cave Retreat

Getting here, or to any hotel nearby, is a bit of an orienteering challenge, but in the end it was a 7 minute walk from one of the more nearby parking spaces. We felt very welcomed by the staff who helped with suggestions for walks, lunch etc. The breakfast included in the price was very good, with a nice mixture of things. We had apparently paid for an upgrade, which, we learned on arrival, meant we would not be staying in a cave room—the main reason we had chosen this hotel. We got our own one-room house next to the hotel. Very nice room with a small balcony and super high ceiling. Still, we had looked forward to staying in a cave room. We appreciated the room amenities with coffee/tea maker, fridge, minibar, AC. It was super quiet and we slept very well.
Aquatio Cave Luxury Hotel & Spa

Hotel in ztl, open to the hotel to find the front desk for 20 dollars valet parking, eliminate ztl records. The hotel facilities are superb, in line with the five-star standard, the 60-minute free spa is super comfortable, you can use the massage pool and two saunas, the breakfast is very good, you can see the chef is very attentive. The room is very characteristic and not at all. The hotel is the best photo point to climb up to the opposite rock church for five minutes, behind the church is the ancient cave.
Basiliani Hotel

Magical location in a magical city. Spectacular view from our room across the valley to the cave-filled hillside. It was quiet at night even though close to several tourist attractions. The room, built into an existing cave, was very comfortable and attractive. The staff were very helpful, especially Roberto who gave us excellent ideas for how to explore the city. You can’t park anywhere in the old city of Matera, but the hotel picked us up at the parking garage - just a 5 or 10 minute wait.
Affittacamere Da Mary

We have stayed in two in this rental room in October for one night. It is located 100 metres from the center of Matera with the possibility of parking in front of the road otherwise in a free parking 5 minutes walk. The room on the ground floor is essential, quite clean, with a large bathroom and shower and air conditioning. If I have to find something negative, the noises of the neighbors above the floor are quite heated. Breakfast is organised at a convened 5-minute walking bar, and the owner is very friendly and always available to provide any information. The cost in this low season is good, given the comfortable location, and I would certainly return to it and advise it because it is almost in the centre and therefore comfortable to visit Matera at a good price.
Il Nespolo Matera

We decided to visit the city of Matera, with children, from our holidays back. The B&b is very fun and characteristic, located in the area of the city's Caveoso seas. It has a private parking that is paid separately but comfortable because we are in the centre. Clean room and comfortable beds, clean and spacious bathroom. There are no windows, but still living. We have had a lot of advice about where to make breakfast to the guide to visit the city.
Il Belvedere

First, the location and the views. They are incredible! Second, the rooms. You can select a “sassi”, or a regular room. We stayed in a sassi, and it was a unique experience. Third, the history—which is remarkable. Both sad, and inspiring. The local museums are world class. But what really made this stay extra special were the hosts at the hotel. Words cannot describe adequately how friendly and helpful they are—all of them. A truly first-class, incredible experience. We ended up extending our stay, we were so impressed! Two practical notes—it is not a problem to obtain secure parking close to the hotel—that is a big plus in cities like this, and not always the case. Finally, the physical location is perfect—we were able to easily walk to all the major venues in Matera. I’ll Belvedere gets our highest recommendation!
