Great hostel, lots of activities and social group outings. Located very close to the Markets and Melbourne CBD with the free Tram zone so easy to get around with plenty to do. I had a larger room but my friends had really small rooms that would be the only negative. Great roof top space for evening views and socialising with hot tub. The best hostel kitchen I've stayed in and have travelled the east coast and Western Australia. So many stations, great number of quality equipment and lots of space for food although fridges are always full np matter where you go. Really happy with this stay.

The hotel is three stars plus, but due to the Australian Open, the room rate is very expensive, more expensive than the five-star hotel I stayed in Sydney, and it does not include breakfast, so I think it is not worth it. Let me first say the good things, the beautiful waitress at the front desk is very nice, and the room is cleaned on time every day. The location of the hotel is also good. There are a lot of bad things. The room is not big, and the bathroom is even smaller. I don’t know if the bath towel should be thrown on the ground after taking a shower, anyway, there is no basket or anything to put it. I stayed for eight nights and basically didn’t change the sheets because there was a stain on the sheets that had always been there. I didn’t point it out, and I thought that the one I slept on might be cleaner than the one I changed. I don’t trust this hotel very much. The bed was also made in a mess, and the mattress was off to where it went, and it was not made straight, so I pulled it myself every day. The cups were not cleaned, and there were tea stains. With such an expensive room rate, even free bottled water was not provided, and I bought water to drink every day.

We were warmly welcomed and assist with the check in by jays. She is friendly and polite making the check in an ease. The room was clean and spacious, the bed were very comfortable. Air con was working well. There’s a kitchen component which was handy as I like fruits. Our room is on the 9 floor and facing very closely to the next building which I felt a little watched. The hotel has a gym and a semi heated indoor pool and sauna which is lovely, you can go anytime without checking the weather. Trams just right below and eateries around, very convenient. On our last day, it was raining and Desmond went beyond and above to shelter us with umbrella to our cab. I had a good deal with the platform I booked with and I think it was value for money for us and we enjoyed ourselves at the hotel. Highly recommend :)

Before I went to Melbourne, I had had the negative experience of Mercure in Thailand and I didn't want to choose it, to be honest, but I didn't have any choice because the price and location were better than other places. Wow. I was surprise because everything was unexpected I can say thanks to the hotel 1.The location is good and it is located in the CBD. Convenient transportation, lots of Asian restaurants, supermarkets and convenient stores. It is not far from the place I had to work. 2.The staff are great and helpful with service mind. Yes, I found a Thai girl staff who is really nice. We received the good service. Even though, the policy is they clean the room 1 in 3 days, but I was ok because we had to save the world. 3.The size of the room is small and the size of the beds were small too but enough for sleeping well and everything in the room was clean and function well. 4.No water bottles. I understood that we had to drink water from the tab. I was used to it because I knew it well, but my boss was not used to it and couldn't accept this. Please make the remark in the booking or put a paper in the room so that some people can prepare themselves for this culture. However, thanks for the milk in the fridge. Love the hotel stay so much! It was clean, and staff were friendly. They could assist with any queries on traveling around the city. The location is very convenient, walking distance to any malls and f&b. The only bad thing is the hotel is located right in the busy area of the city, hence could hear some noises from the streets.

Excellent location. All branded shoppings & fine dinings are within walking distance. Hotel staff are extremely friendly & helpful. l would rate their service better than those from Park Hyatt Melbourne. Only complaint was the poor sound proof. l can hear noices from neighbouring room clearly. This is a let down that the hotel gotta look into it.

The location is very good. It is only 10 minutes walk from Southern Cross. Skybus goes directly to the airport. The street in the middle of the ancient building is very beautiful. The breakfast is also good. The facilities are a little old, but the maintenance is OK. The area is also large enough.

The hotel is located at the city Centre and just near the southern cross train station. It is very convenient for the travelers to explore the city by tram or other transportations. The breakfast is good and friendly staff to help. The bed size of twin rooms is quite tiny that could be improved for better stay experience. Overall we were satisfied to stay at the hotel in Melbourne. Will recommend to friends and everyone who is going to visit Melbourne.

Nice spacious rooms with in-room washer and dryer, as well as a kitchenette. Location is pretty decent as the hotel is located at an intersection which serves North-South and East-West trams. Although its right next to Flinders Street, we did not experience any loud noises from the street or trams to disturb our sleep. Only gripe was that the hotel only had 1 functioning elevator and it could take awhile during peak movement times. Would definitely still recommend~

alright not really all about this reviewer life but considering i spend 10 days i figured id give my experience so yall can decide better. will be sorting my scores thru ff criterias bellow: 1. LOCATION⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: it literally at the edge of the “free tram zone” that Melbourne CBD has. it is one free tram ride away to your postcard landmark, Flinders Station. 5 min walk to Southern Cross for all your out-of-Melbourne trips, including the airport skybusses. Theres a pub in the first floor for food and drinks, a 7/11 round the corner, and a liquor store, pizza, vietnamese restaurant, and a kebab all withinh walking distance. Its practically perfect for its price location-wise. 2. BLDG and AMENITIES: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ You can tell the bldg is old. Walls were obviously too thin than regular bldgs since I visitied MEL during the winter seasom and was heavily dependent on the heater, which works splendidly! They have a guest laundry room, where for 5AUD, you can get a big load of laundry done. the only downside is it’s literally located in a sort of maze around the back of the building, so if youre like me and you forget ur laundry bag, youre gonna have to parade around like a fashion model dressed by french-japanese model from comme de garscons. I also had an issue with the key access during after-hours entry, both of which, by the grace of the land gods, was solved by another visitor coming in late. Brought up this issue with the Staff and they were more than happy to fix the card! apparently my room specifically, 219, has issues in their system or whatever. which brings me to my next criterion. The hotel shares a common hallway to a Thai massage parlor (which gets you a free discount coupon) and a bar/pub/diner thats open from early breakfast til late in the night. no bellhop though so youll have to carry your luggage all by your lonesome! 2.5 ROOM ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: As said before the room was pretty cold if you dont turn on the heater. But it was extremely clean! the bathroom was neat and hot water available 24/7 (some airbnbs could never), and there’s single room necessities like a water boiler, a tiny fridge, and a big and powerful hair dryer. all of which work perfectly. they stop by every morning to ask if you want your towels replaced (if your privacy sign is up) and clean the room per request. 3. STAFF: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️amazing and super nice! and cheerful! i already interacted with them since i accidentally canceled my reservation due to misunderstandings and had spent some change calling from overseas. they were easy to talk to and very understanding. That wouldve been 600usd wasted! They answered all my questions about the city, tips, and guides and all other inquiries. overall: my stay was amazing and definitely felt safe leaving my personal belongings while i went about traipsing around melbourne and surrounding land and shore marks. def recommend for a solo traveler traveling light!
