Hampton Inn Charleston/Mt. Pleasant-Patriots Point

Stayed for a wedding weekend and had a great stay, not one complaint. The room was perfectly clean, housekeeping was great about refilling towels, etc. You can choose your housekeeping services here. We were only there 3 days so only needed a towel refresh. They also emplied our trash each day. The pool was very peaceful, enough lounge chairs that we didn't have to wait for a chair. The property is located at the base of the Cooper RIver Bridge so very convenient to donwtown Charleston. Only about a mile from Shem Creek and the famous Paige's Okra Kitchen. We also went to Sullivan's Island and it was about a 12 minute drive. Breakfast was good, the folks working there keep it very clean and well stocked. They have strawberry waffles in addition to regular. Front desk staff also very nice and helpful.

I live in the area so this was a staycation. After a great experience I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family who might be visiting. First impression was a very clean hotel and somewhat modern. Room was nice and felt comfortable. Quiet for the most part except you could hear people flushing toilets in other rooms when you were in the bathroom. I had digital key so didn't need to interact with the front desk staff except for late night when we got a snack from the little shop they have. Nice to have an onsite bar since there's really nothing within walking distance. The bartender on duty was super nice and efficient. Overall a great one night stay. This will be the first choice if we do it again.
Comfort Inn & Suites Patriots Point

This hotel provides a classic example as to why you should never write a brand off based on a single experience within their hotel chain. Right before we stayed here we had a bad experience at another Comfort Inn. This Comfort Inn was a completely different experience. This hotel was clean, well run and inviting. From the young lady at the front desk (”Sarah” who was great to deal with) to every single staff member we interacted with all were obviously dedicated to making sure their customers had the best possible experience possible. The room was clean, the breakfast was GREAT and location perfect as i was able to walk to the Yorktown. Thank you owners and staff for a wonderful stay.
Red Roof Plus+ Mt Pleasant - Patriots Point

We spent 3 nights here after spending 3 nights at the Red Roof Inn in Myrtle Beach. The one in Myrtle Beach is a 5 star resort compared to this one. Our room in Myrtle Beach was almost double the size of the one in Mt. Pleasant, and it was almost half the price (we were in Mt. Pleasant during the week not on a weekend). When we checked in, the young man at the front desk was surly at best, it appeared that he didn't want to be there. There were tree trimming contractors staying there (they cut trees for the power companies) and they started their big bucket trucks up every morning at dawn. So even if you wanted to sleep past dawn you couldn't. The Red Roof Inn in Myrtle Beach was 4 stories with inside access to the rooms, a spacious lobby, nice pool area and nice grounds. Contrast that to this Red Roof Inn which is more typical of one that you would see off the interstate where you're just looking for a place to sleep for the night. But it's in an upscale area, so I don't know why it's not a better hotel. It needs updating, and the grounds aren't the cleanest. The only reason for 2 stars instead of 1 is because of it's location and because of the front desk clerk Becky, who is personable and helpful. I would go back to Mt. Pleasant in a heartbeat but would look for somewhere else to stay.
