Find Mountain View Hotels in George Town

The facilities live up to the Shangri-La experience and consistent to Shangri-La Singapore where I frequent. The view is great and link to the beach. However the Rasa Sayang don’t meet my expectations on other area. The place is badly maintained and the equipment is old. The Toliet sink is faulty, drawers are broken. TV is old and the channel all have static which makes you feel like watching TV in 1980s. This place needs a revamp! There was a service break down when we check in but I will not mention it because the recovery from day two is excellent. Sorry to give a bad review cause at this price point for a hotel in Penang, I expected more.

I recently stayed at SAVV Hotel in March/April 2023. I have stayed in George Town a number of times over 10 years and this (relatively new) hotel is really working very hard to look after guests and now tops my list! Everything was fantastic - staff very friendly, outstandingly helpful and professional from reception, cleaning, to security and maintenance. Hotel is spotless and the small pool gorgeous to cool off in (cleaned regularly). Busy location but I liked this as a solo traveller and felt very safe - easy to catch a Grab car at hotel entrance. Special mention to Mae and Kathy who made my breakfast every day - thinking about that great homemade jackfruit jam! Thanks everyone for making my stay so enjoyable. See you next year! Although this hotel a bit old, the room is ok and clean. However, several malay staff (who wearing hotel waiter uniform) from the hotal restaurant are not friendly and not helpful especially we having seafood buffet dinner, this cause me unpleasant and disapointed to their service...besides, the reception staff are very polite and the live band hotel also very impressive...

A brand new 3 star boutique hotel in a quiet part of Georgetown conveniently located close to all the best hawker foods of Penang. Great value for money accommodation for holiday makers and for business. The rooms are fully equipped with refrigerator, coffee facilities, electric kettle, mini safe, iron & ironing board, hair dryer, full set of toiletries including tooth brushes.

This homestay is the best.. Can fit 10 people. There are many beds & mattresses. The view from the 42nd floor is so awesome😍

The room is clean and tidy, the surrounding environment is also good, and you can see the sea view from a distance The equipment is very complete, she must love life very much. It can be seen that the owner takes care of it carefully, she must be a very lovely owner, and some small items are cute. The service is also very good, actively and quickly responding to our check-in and use of equipment, and listening carefully to suggestions after leaving the store. I will recommend it to friends who come here

The location of the resort is convenient, near the main road and the beach. The rooms are large and comfortable. Spacious living and dining area . But maintenance and tidiness of the resort needs to improve. The aircond at the twin bedroom is leaking water when in use. Looking at the ceiling mark, it appears that the water leak has not been properly fixed. Also, there is no soap tray in the bathroom. Potted plants are not taken care properly. Rubbish are dumped in front of the hotel. The surrounding area is quite untidy. We don't see any supervising manager around. The management office is closed most of the time. Looks like only the front desk and some maintenance staff are operating the resort.

What a lovely hotel! For the price I was paying, I was not expecting much. But everything, from the hospitality to the room, was amazing! The room itself is spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and wonderful to come back to after a long day of wandering. The air conditioner works great, the shower has actual hot water (not a given in Malaysia, I've found), and the bed is comfortable. The hotel provides extra little touches, like fantastic, thick, large towels for the bathroom and daily water bottles. Netflix and Youtube are connected through the tv, so you always have options. And I was thoroughly impressed by the housekeeping staff, who seemed to do a deep-deep clean every morning. The location is excellent. It's not in the center of downtown, so you don't have the noise and craziness, but it's only a short walk away. Even better, it's super close to Komtar, the main bus terminal. If you are going anywhere too far to walk (or if you don't want to walk far when it's 90 degrees outside!) the free CAT bus and all of the other intracity buses are only a couple of blocks away. It was perfect for coming in on the ferry - I hopped on the free CAT bus, got off at Komtar and walked 5 minutes. I understand as well that the hotel will lend out bikes for use of the guests, but that's not my thing. Something that won't matter to a lot of people, but I loved, was that there are 3 incredible vegan restaurants within a 5-minute walk of the place and great coffee places only a block or two away. Wifi was good. Other than a blip one night when it was slow (I think it was a provider thing, not the hotel), I was getting 15mbps download speed. If I return to Penang, this will definitely be where I stay. Highly recommend!
