Dimora Duomo

Naples|0.15km from Paleontological Museum
This is a very unusual hotel situated on the first floor of a building not easily identified as a hotel from outside. Marco, the owner?/manager sent a welcome text with code number to access the building but also an offer to provide a taxi from the station for 30 euros. Price was probably over the top but well worth it given all we had heard about crime near the station in Naples. Marco was at the property to welcome us for our three night stay. Room was quite large with a table and chairs in addition to the bed. The breakfast is ordered from a menu in the room and delivered by staff to your room at your selected time. Marco recommend three restaurants which we ate at all during our stay. Pizza restaurant was only one not up to scratch but one out of our two pizzas was great. Naples restaurants all seem to operate from menus you download to your mobile phone to read. Was a good time to be in Naples as Napoli had just won the league. Congratulations! Hotel is very much part of the old town and you are a couple of streets from the Duomo. Drivers in Naples are an interesting experience! Very easy to get train to Herculaneum or Pompeii. The National Archaeology museum is an 15 minute walk and the seaport is only a slightly longer walk but the seafood restaurants are worth the walk (or taxi ride). Only negative (nothing to do with hotel but word of warning) was walking back to the hotel from the station when I felt someone trying to unzip my small backpack which was high on my back. As soon as I turned, the guy disappeared. Naples has a reputation for a reason. Take care fellow traveller

Hotel Nunu

We flew into Naples in the afternoon and only spent one night there, but in our short visit we were very pleased with Hotel Nunu. The hotel is fun - very pink and different from other hotels. The location was great - just a short walk to the historic center of Naples. Lots of good food nearby. We actually had THREE balconies in our room (a corner room with two on one side and one on the other), which was a cool way to start our trip. I believe this was our least expensive hotel in the three weeks we spent in Italy, and they did give us the suite though I don't believe that's what we booked. The only thing I didn't like is the position of the shower behind the bed - it was a little weird. But the rain shower was great with nice water pressure. There was also a bathtub in the room. We enjoyed the breakfast - one of the few places in Italy where they offered scrambled eggs. The bread and pastry were also really good. Overall, we were very happy with the hotel and would recommend it, especially for couples.

It’s Room

This is one of the nicest rooms we stayed in during the three weeks we were in Italy, and given that it was a big city, and in the historic district, it was a very fair price. The staff was also very kind and accommodating. That said, this is one of the types of hotels where there is simply a floor that is taken over and no real front desk and no staff there except for just a few hours during the day. That’s not necessarily a negative but it can be difficult sometimes if you want to contact someone from the hotel. We also had a problem, and as much as the elevator wasn’t working for 3 to 4 days we were there and that meant walking up and down five flights of stairs. Every time we need to come and go. Not their fault, of course, but if you had any issues with mobility, it would’ve been impossible to stay there.
