Allegria Hotel

The hotel located next to the beach was awesome. The front desk staff were so sweet to me and my children. The big highlight for me was Lois in the hotel restaurant. I was telling her about our terrible travel with American Airlines and that we’d be getting up at 4 to go to the airport. She gave us our dinner order and packed extra cereal and milk for my children to have in the morning. I’m 36 years old and pretty independent, but it was nice having Lois as a temp mom away from home helping me with my kids. Thank you, Lois. If someone sees this, please tell her I say thank you.
The Roslyn, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

What a strange, strange hotel. I'm a Hilton Diamond member. Hilton is running a promotion, encouraging you to stay in different brands, and The Roslyn (note the pretentious ”The”) is in one of their sub-brands. At Check-in, there was ZERO recognition for being a Hilton Honors member, let alone a Diamond member. I'd requested a Diamond Upgrade when I booked, which is supposed to be automatic. No upgrade. Instead, I was put in a room overlooking a rooftop with HVAC units, and looking up at the underside of a concrete bridge. SRSLY? The room was clean and the bedding was comfortable, so there's that. But the bathroom? What a joke! The mirror is centered at 4” 2” over the sink! I'm not a tall guy, but I had to haul the ottoman in and kneel on it to shave! And the toilet seat is 14” off the floor! If you are older, overweight and/or have bad knees, how the heck are you supposed to do #2? Every Hilton property in the universe begins the che3ck-out process with ”How was your stay?” This place? Fuddedaboutit! The desk staff is either clueless, or they know the property is a joke and they don't want to hear about it. Wish I'd stayed at the Hampton Inn or even the Holiday Inn Express instead.
The Inn at Fox Hollow Hotel

Where to begin… my parents got a room to look at some houses nearby. we’re from Long Island so they were quite familiar with the area. I live in NYC. Let’s not even get into the fact that the decor looks like someone intentionally picked out the more hideous individual items at a bargain basement to win some sort of contest but I get a text the morning after their first night that my dad (72) fell in the bathtub and was in the hospital. ***. so I flip out and head out to the hotel from the city. The police had to come and upon looking at the bathroom, the ADA handles were completely in the wrong place (no handle at the edge of the tub to hold onto when getting out) and no grip on the floor. They are well aware a majority of their guests are older and regardless, there should’ve been compliance. There was literally BLOOD all over the bathroom floor. The staff barely gave a sh*t except to ask why we didn’t contact them first — instead of the police????? Oh ok sure. So clearly caring more about their insurance than the well-being of my father. At one point I went downstairs to get 2 bottles of Pellegrino for my mom who was scared out of her mind and the guy started asking me what happened to my dad, so I told him the details, but don’t worry, that didn’t stop him from charging me $17 for the two waters as I did. Unreal. My father needed stitches and a cat scan. The scan thankfully came back clean but was in a ton of pain (he had fallen directly on his back) so eventually he was discharged and we came back to the hotel. His bandage from his stitches had come open so my mom went to the front desk to ask if they had tape. The guy handed her a scotch tape and had the AUDACITYYYYY to ask for her ROOM NUMBER. He was legitimately going to CHARGE HER for the scotch tape. I can’t even comprehend what kind of person does this. She refused to give him her room number on principle and said she’d simply take 2 pieces and call it a day. Unbelievable. Finally my mom goes down to complain about the entire experience to the manager because seriously ***. The manager seemed relatively apologetic and when my mom told her what had happened w the tape, the guy was right there and my mom said “do you really think that was the right thing to do given what we’ve experienced?” and this guy rudely replies “yes I do, that’s policy”. Areeee you out of your mind??? What kind of hospitality is this?!? My mom is now dealing with their insurance company because they didn’t even offer any kind of compensation (no night free, no comped anything, still charged for $17 water) and she made it clear to them she would be refuting this stay with Amex. On top of that, they both got Covid from the hospital. Like, are you even for real. This place is horrific and I will tell every single person I know to avoid it like the plague. Despicable treatment.
