Hotels near Montmartre Secret Keys in Paris

Just returned from a lovely weekend at the Timhotel, Montmartre. Have used this hotel many times when in Paris but this is my first visit back in 7 years. Situated in a beautiful square with nearby restaurants and cafes and near to Sacre Coeur. The area was very busy being Easter weekend but nothing detracts from the splendour of the area. The bedroom was small, quite normal for the area, but functional. The bed was so comfortable, with quality pillows and bedding. Lovely en suite bathroom. We didn’t use the hotel for breakfast and tried different cafes where there was an average price of ten euros. The area, like most of Paris, isn’t cheap when it comes to food and drink but still very much worth the money just for the ambience and the sheer pleasure of being in Montmartre! I have to thank all of the hotel reception staff that we met on this visit - kind, helpful, every one. After a bit of a slog from Charles de Gaulle airport by train into Gare de Nord then taxi up to the hotel, we decided to opt for a taxi transfer on the way back and this was arranged by hotel reception without a problem. Well worth it in my opinion. In closing I would highly recommend the Timhotel and again thank the staff for a fabulous stay in Paris.

Very charming hostel in the midst of Montmartre, at the foot of Sacre Cœur. The personnel speak French as well as English and are very helpful. There are both single rooms and dormitory and a small kitchen if you want to cook. A special secret is the outside terrasse on the first floor for both a calm breakfast and for meeting other guests in the evening!

Me and my friend booked three nights here over the weekend. The hotel staff were lovely and helpful during our stay. Breakfast was as described (a simple continental). Good wifi was available, room was a decent size, bed was comfy, good shower water pressure although it was slightly too short for anyone over 5’6 but we coped. Cleaner came every day but did leave the window wide open and we were on the first floor facing the front so not quite safe. Area itself is nice in the day but at night we felt unsafe as two young women so opted to stay at the hotel as it got dark. During most of our stay, electricity was fine but twice it did go out in the plug sockets for a few minutes so we couldn’t charge or use any appliances. Overall, we got what we paid for and it was a good budget holiday and would recommend if you’re not looking to spend loads.

This is a little gem of a hotel, in a great location close to the metro and many restaurants. The hotel itself is basic but ticks all the boxes. The bedrooms were a good size compared to other Parisian hotels. The reception staff were very helpful too! Our bedrooms were close to the lift so we could hear everything in the morning but that was a small price to pay considering how affordable the rooms were. Would have no hesitation in starting here again.

First things first, there effectively is no Lennon Hotel. There is no reception there and no breakfast room. Everything from the administration on is done through the Avalon Hotel next door so, make the assumption that you are going to the Avalon and you will not get lost or confused. The decor is both dated and modern at the same time. I would say, typically French so I am glad they didn't go all chain hotel and boring. The Bedroom - The choice of furniture I would question. In some pictures you can see what looks like a coat rack. This is the 'wardrobe' in the room. There are 6 hooks which may or may not have 6 hangers. Beneath that could well be a full size laptop safe (free to use) and under that, what I would have used as the shoe shelf. There really isn't anywhere for smaller items at all, they likely will stay in your luggage. With the lighting it's either bright or very bright so, there wasn't really an option to have it dimly lit though there are a selection of ceiling light, wall lamps and table lamps, they are all bright. Our room (100) was not a king size bed, I feel 4' 6” as it was certainly smaller than we are used to. In many pictures it shows the white bed pillows supplemented by small blue (green) ones. This is certainly not the case with every room. The Bathroom - I can but speak for our room as I understand other rooms have different configurations. We had a walk in shower with a rain shower head and a hand held spray adjusted using ornate handles. The toilet was on the wall. I personally don't like those, I feel incredibly unsafe especially when they creak like this one did when sat on. To make it worse, we're only 5' 3” and it's just too high, we felt like 5 year olds in need of a step stall. I wondered if this might not be aimed at wheelchair users as I am disabled but I do not use a chair but a mobility scooter (which there was plenty of room for). Then I consider the sink which is high up, too high for a wheelchair user. Of course, there is no chair in the shower either so, if it is meant to be an accessible room, it kind of isn't. The walls are done in tiles. Very mismatched tiles, not sure whether that was intentional or just years of different repairs and replacements. I feel that the light blue small square tiles were original but that when the shower, toilet and sink were last done they were not replicable so got replaced with blue rectangle tiles. The floor tiles are probably original but very worn and though they may have been, I never felt they were clean. Being a walk in shower the water got everywhere and the floor remained wet all night so we kept a towel on the floor by the door. Us British might find it weird to see a hairdryer in the bathroom right next to the sink, I think a plug socket too! The large round mirror was supposed to light up with a touch switch but, we never got it to work. Good location for the cost, easy to get to from CDG, close to the Opera and 2 other metro stations to explore. The room is a bit small, but comfortable. I would improve the ventilation in the bathroom.

Absolutely perfect- beyond perfect! I cried when we left. We’ve been to Paris a few times and stayed in the area, and love it, but this was our first time with kids. We had ‘The Room’ that is used on the photos and it really really is like that. That view! The place had a great vibe, with staff and other guests being warm and welcoming. We loved the shared fridge and kitchen- perfect for our kids who will only eat cereal for breakfast! The location is perfect. Right next to a lovely play area for kids, Anvers metro station is outside and the Sunday street market that filled then boulevard was great! The room was lovely- very nicely decorated and the kids loved the bunbeds. Loved sitting on our little balcony and enjoying that view. I can’t even write how perfect our stay was. I’ve never seen Paris look so beautiful and we can’t wait to return.

It was wonderful to be there, thanks for having us and providing good services. Everything was superb, value for money. I don't understand why people have given the bad ratings, I stayed on the 5th floor, the room was clean and properly set up, the shared washroom was properly cleaned and sanitized, the bed was super comfortable, and what else? An iron they gave for clothes, a really good shared shower room. The hotel should be listed at 5 stars. I found nothing wrong. The staff was nice and helpful. We went for a quick trip for 2 days for a Proposal photoshoot and our budget was really less and F1 was the only hotel offering the pricing as per our budget, we were afraid to see the reviews on TA but still thought of trying It. Trust me, everything was excellent, much more than expected. I will stay always there for future trips, will not waste money on expensive hotels unnecessarily which are equally Good. Give it a try yourself and I am sure you are going to love it.

Pro: Newly renovated hotel with a chic and modern design. Truly love the decor, from the lobby to the rooms. The staff is very welcoming and wonderful. Loved that my room was ready in advance and they allowed me to check in (really) early! Huge points for this. Superior twin room was extremely spacious. Bigger than your average hotel room in Paris. Could easily walk around. Ideally located between 2 metro stops that serve two different metro lines so location is good and transportation was easy. Cons: I wouldn’t consider this 4 star as they did not provide any amenities typical 4 star hotels provide. No coffe/tea machine in the room, no robe, no slippers, no bathroom kit: cotton pads, cotton swabs, hand lotion, mini shampoo etc… This is the only thing missing from this hotel. Also, the location not suitable for families with children as it’s located in the “red lights district” of Paris, so lots of sex shops around.

The location is good. It’s near the Wall of Love. It’s also close to the Sacred Heart Cathedral. Breakfast can also be given for two. Pay attention to safety when you go to the Sacred Heart Cathedral. Don’t go alone at night.
