Travelodge Plymouth

Friendly and helpful reception team. The team went over and above to help us with organising a surprise party. Clean and well presented room, comfortable bed. Warm with plenty of hot water. Facilities good. Central to lots of places in Plymouth. Very pleasant stay.
Future Inn Plymouth

We stayed for three nights at the Future Inn Plymouth. On arrival we received a lovely warm welcome by the reception staff, our room was extremely spacious, clean with a well-stocked hospitality tray, the slippers & bathrobes were definitely an added bonus. Large free car park with plenty of parking available and despite been a little way out of Plymouth City centre the road links and frequent public transport made it easy to get out and about. We thought our stay was good value for money and would definitely stay again if in the Plymouth area. Many thanks
Leonardo Hotel Plymouth - Formerly Jurys Inn

The beds are excellent quality. The hotel is well-located. I second the mention of James on reception, a most helpful person. Yet on the whole the atmopsphere was sterile. Taxis tend only to pick up from a cul-de-sac at the back of the hotel unless one remonstrates with them. Room service finishes quite early in mid-evening. I tried the food twice. Once some late night food from the bar (avocado and egg salad with overly acidic grains) which I didn't finish. Once for the breakfast room, depressing atmosphere, though there was the usual tick-box selection of cooked and cold food. If you want a *nice* breakfast go to Prime Cafe Bar on Ebrington Street , just a few minutes walk, it's much more welcoming and wholesome. Leonardo Hotel is a functional business hotel, slight better than the cheapest 'Lodge'-type places and with decent sized rooms. But it lacks any soul. Although well-situated in terns of being close to several facilities, the view from the windows across the street is equally bleak, lifted only slightly by a Dominos Pizza take-away interjected in nondescript vista.
FoxHouse Studio Apartments

Great place to stay. It’s a central location for the Barbican and not far from the Hoe too. The room has all the facilities you need for a great stay including cooking and fridge. Very clean and great staff too. They are so helpful. We turned up before the room was available so left our bags, including food in a cool bag (milk & cereals). When we returned, the room was available and the staff had moved our bags into the room and put the food in the fridge for us. How thoughtful. We will stay again if we’re in Plymouth.
Boringdon Hall Hotel and Spa
4.4/572 Reviews
I had tried to feedback to management via email before resorting to tripadvisor, but after no acknowledgement in response to my concerns and hence assurance that we were just unlucky with our stay, here goes. I have also seen another review of a guest that didn’t have a particularly good stay, and tried to reach out to the hotel and did not have a response either. Hotel was nice, staff were polite, room was as described. It was our anniversary stay and a card in the room was a nice touch. But there were a few big cons; Before booking Boringdon Hall I had contacted reception to confirm they did have outdoor hot tubs, as this was a deciding factor when booking this or another spa hotel. It was confirmed yes they do, so we booked. When we had arrived it was apparent that their only outdoor hot tubs were closed. This was disappointing and would have been good to know prior to booking/arrival. I know it was March but other spa hotels do have outdoor hot tubs available for use at this time of year. Service in the restaurant was exceptionally slow, to the point of the waiters apologising to us without us saying anything. When our starters came they were cold. I was offered a free side dish, but we had already ordered everything we had wanted. The wait for dessert was soooo long, that we debated just leaving the table. Not sure why it was so slow as our table wasn’t booked until 8pm, it was almost 10pm by the time we actually got our desserts. The next morning, we experienced the same very slow service despite hardly any other guests in the restaurant. Not quite sure if we were unlucky both times or what the case was, certainly not what you’d expect for a restaurant of a 5* hotel… The food was lovely and of good quality but the wait in the restaurants, for both meals, made it quite a bad experience of eating here. Upon checkout, I asked for an itemised bill as it did seem a bit more expensive than we had expected! When I had looked, the drinks on the bill were more than what was advertised on the menus at the bar!!! This doesn’t seem right, fortunately I checked and the receptionist managed to sort it. Be careful if you stay here that you check your bill as I bet they have overcharged many people! A few changes and our stay would have been fantastic, but it was disappointing for our anniversary.
