Vignette Collection Casa Da Companhia

Partner and I stayed at Casa da Companhia for a week - it was one of the best hotel experiences of our lives! From check-in to the attentive breakfast service and continuing through check-out, we were thrilled by the warmth and quality of service of the staff. Recommendations for sightseeing, restaurants, and a day tour of Douro were all top-notch, and we'll be passing them onto our friends who follow us. Location is on Rue das Flores - a pedestrian-access only street. If you have significant mobility concerns, I would recommend reaching out ahead of time to the hotel to coordinate your arrival transportation. Location cannot be beat - we walked everywhere and were very happy with our access to a number of sights, restaurants, the waterfront, etc. There was a minor hiccup (no fault of the hotel) regarding another guest on our floor who was smoking in their room. The smell subsequently made its way into our room via the ventilation system. Before leaving for a dinner, we notified the front desk and they took immediate action, assessing the smell in our room. Upon our return that evening, they offered to place us in another room overnight, if the smoke smell persisted. When we returned to our room, the smell had dissipated and we declined the extra room - but we greatly appreciated their responsiveness and offer of alternative accommodations. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-appointed. I enjoyed the dry sauna and indoor pool on a rainy day and found both to be very well-maintained. We'll be recommending this hotel to our friends and family and are looking forward to returning to Porto and Casa da Companhia.

No words.... Has been a trip INSIDE a subway construction area .... And I am not kidding unfortunately. I have reserved a single room kind bed. At beginning the reception assigned me one room at 4th floor exactly in front of jackhammer operators, which made the same noises as in war scenario with 2 beds. Then after my immediate big complain reception have assigned me another room, #209. Different scenario : that was in front of a concrete grinding crane arrives from 8pm in the morning until 10pm in the evening. at 7am the noises of the vehicles began with the relative movement alarm and in the evening after 10pm the workers who hammer gradually finished at 1am in the night. all i have timed videos to prove my experience. I asked several times to assign me a room ON OTHER SIDE (that are outside the ”war operation area”) but answer was always _ ”SORRY SIR, THE ROOM ON BACKSIDE ARE FULL AND WE DO NOT HAVE SPACE AVAILABLE” . Today at check out I have asked a discount, as feedback the receptionist charged me 20EUR more for 2 peer juices I have got from minibar...... I do not know how to describe this experience, I have been many times in Intercontinental and I have been always satisfied.... BESIDE THIS LAST TRIP THAT IS REALLY SOMETHING I WANT TO FORGET Travellers' take extreme care going there !! At least until the subway works under room balcony are finished !!! Can not upload pictures the website tell me ”unable to lad” but I can sent ll of them separately

Porto A.S. 1829 Hotel

I liked the most among European hotels I went to this time on my honeymoon. It's a small but lovely and very pretty hotel. When I was curious, it was said that it was built in 1829, but it is in excellent condition. It was rather antique and very good. When you open the window, the view is so pretty as if it were in a fairy tale. In the plaza in front, they perform performances, and they are gathered right in front of the bar restaurant, so the location is the best. If I go back to Porto, I will definitely stay at this hotel!! (Breakfast is tidy, but there are too few eggplants.)

At the end of a week-long stay of rainy days, my daughter and I were both wet and cold from that day's rain, and walking from the apartment we stayed at while my daughter attended a conference. We checked in too early to get our room, but the staff did their best to accommodate us and get us into one sooner. We were so grateful to be able to take off our soaking clothes...and delighted to find a tiny carafe of port wine for us to enjoy upon entry. The room was a tiny studio but very well-appointed and cozy, and in a great part of Porto close to good restaurants and sights...all within walking distance. The staff was absolutely terrific. This was a lovely finale stayed to our week-long rainy visit to lovely Porto.

Perfectly located, charming place to stay, wonderful staff! I stayed here for two nights and was able to arrange airport pickup through messaging through my booking app. Once I arrived I was checked in promptly and had a nice discussion about my plans for Porto. They took the time with me to go over the city map and explain to me the sites that were around and the best lookout points to catch the sunset. I was lucky enough to stay on the top floor, which had a street view. This was so lovely and magical. The location was maybe a block or two from slew of restaurants where live music was happening nightly. Normally street noise would discourage me, but this entertainment was goood. Only minor downfall is there is no elevator - by design, its a protected historic building. Also, since its a historic building if everyone is showering at the same time in the morning the water may or may not stop mid shower only to resume again in a few minutes, It's a quirk to this charming building. You also get cookies in your room and pastries and juice are available for you anytime you want - score!!
Being Porto Hostel

For a hostel, this was an exceptional experience. Our room on the top floor, although a workout to get to, had beautiful views over the river and Gaia. Thankfully it was cool when we went and a fan was provided, the lack of air conditioning could be a challenge in summer. Breakfast was adequate for a hostel breakfast. Location is perfect, a relatively short walk from Sao Bento station even with luggage. Would stay again. Staff were mostly friendly, but Tiago was great!

Very satisfied. 320rmb One night, it is lucky to live here. Next to the Porto Tourist Center Ribeira, take a 5-minute walk to the Luis I Bridge and walk across the river to the winery without traffic jams. Many major attractions can be reached, and Porto is just that big. The rooms are small, clean and new, although the buildings are not new. Is the table small, no chairs, rushing to the outside to squat, or to the downstairs cafe consumption? Breakfast is a surprise, more refined than the average continental breakfast, with a variety of bread pastry cereal coldcut fruit, fresh orange juice machine. The sound insulation can be improved, and the sound of the old elevator can be heard in the room.

This is the best hotel I ever met for this Portugual and Spain tour. The location is best, can walk to each famous tourism site within 20 minutes in the downtown center, including the Sao Bento Train station, and 5 minutes' walk to Douro river . The ladies for check-in and check-out are both very nice and responsible, be helpful for each of our questions. The apartment's equipments are sufficient and of good quality, can meet to our needs of cooking by ourselves, especially it has kettle for hotting water for drink, which is the only hotel we met in P&S. Great! And also they have prepared plenty of fruits(apple, orange, banana, pear, ect.) and yougart, snacks, etc. For breakfast, including milk, bread, butter, cheese, egg, hams, very enough for us. Which is more intersting is that, there is a cloth bag, which painting with typical Portugal cock, it is just with this bag, we hang it to the doornob of our apartment at night, and next morning, when you pick it back, you will find very fresh and delicious bread in it. Bravo! Like a Xmas gift! And the hygienism of the room are also very good, All of above make us feel at home, esp at this special season. Stronly recommend this hotel. This is the best hotel we stayed in this Spanish Portugal trip. First of all, the location is excellent, you can walk to any famous sights in the city center within 20 minutes, including São Bento Train Station, and 5 minutes walk to the Douro River. The two ladies who were responsible for receiving us were very kind, kind and enthusiastic, and answered our various questions patiently. The apartment is fully equipped and has everything to meet our cooking needs, especially the hot water kettle. You know, during this trip, many Portuguese hotels do not provide hot water kettles. Drinking hot water is simply a luxury. I also prepared a lot of fruits for us, and I didn't finish eating them when I left, as well as snacks, coffee and so on. Breakfast includes milk, yogurt, bread, cheese, eggs, ham, etc. In short, it is impossible to eat all of it. What’s interesting is that the bread bag is a delicate cloth bag with a picture of Portuguese chicken. Hang it on the door handle at night. The next morning, the bag will be filled with fresh and fragrant bread. It’s great. Like a Christmas gift. The sanitation of the apartment is also very good, in short, everything makes us feel as comfortable and warm as home, especially in this special period. highly recommended!
