Novotel Puerto Montt

"Fantastic location for our shopping trip, as the hotel is just above the largest shopping mall, and really close to the city centre, good for restaurants and so on. We parked the car on arrival and didn't need to use it until we left. We had a spacious room on the 6th floor, with a big balcony and sea view, two great king-sized beds and a giant TV. There was a large desk, and a relaxing area with a comfy armchair and coffee table.This would have needed a lamp for reading or having a drink. The bathroom looked slightly jaded but was fine. Instead of a proper wardrobe, there was an open clothes-hanging rail area opposite the washbasin part of the bathroom, something I've never understood. I dislike not having a proper wardrobe with doors. Fortunately there are some large drawers in the TV table, which helped keep our things tidy. Breakfast was good, except for the juices. The breakfast room is on the top floor, along with reception, a slightly unusual arrangement but which has a lovely view of the sea. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful."

"Everything excellent, very good service, good attention, spectacular breakfast. Perhaps the only thing that makes it a little complicated is the very narrow parking area, but it can be overcome."

Abba Presidente Suites Puerto Montt

"The photos in the listing are far too good for what the hotel is actually like, especially the room photos, which are nothing like reality. The building's design means you can hear everything from one room to another. It's an old, renovated hotel. We didn't like it, but we did appreciate the breakfast, which was very good (it's an extra charge, not included in the room rate). The Wi-Fi is terrible. The minibar was dirty and full of ice. The room rate is high for what the hotel offers."

"Great place to stay. Right on the boardwalk. The area can get busy and looks a bit sketchy because it’s next to the bus station but once you get past that it’s a great place especially being so close to the boardwalk. With food shops right in the bus station. It’s not hard to get food."

"I had read bad comments and they are true, the crush bed, hard coats, excessive heat in the bedroom, restaurant does not allow sandwich consumption from 19:00 to 22:00 hs what is illogical as it is schedules that Chileans usually take tea with The most famous restaurants allow it."

Gran Hotel Vicente Costanera

"We rented 3 rooms for one night as my family is driving to see the penjuins this morning. Since i did not want to go ; i asked last night if i could rent my room another night instead of checking out at 11:30 am as our flight leaves back to Santiago Chile this evening. The receptionist said to wait until this morning . This morning i went to pay for another night. The receptionist realized i was going to check out about 5 or 6 to go to the airport so he said no problem ; we will give you a late checkout at 6pm and he wrote it down so there would be no language issue or concern. During breakfast ; another receptionist came to my table and said another group had rented my room and i had to be out at 11:30. I again offered to pay for the room for the rest of the day. Nope. I have to check out at 11:30. Then they said another room would not be ready until after 2:30 if there is one due to cleaning. That is mostly why they are getting a 3 star. Breakfast was wonderful and it is included. Hot and plentiful with a lot of variety. Internet is free. Not as good here in my room but if i get to the right part of my room it works. There is no AC but it is pretty cool here in puerto montt, so i dont think it is needed and the windows open. However one of my family complained about it being too hot. Also we got here quite late and there was no parking for the car. The lot was full. We had to find another parking spot and be out by 8Am this morning or be charged extra."

Hotel Don Luis Puerto Montt

"I had an early check out (5 a.m.) . I had already paid online before my check in.  There was only one guy at the front desk (who was on the phone). I asked him to open the parking lot so I could get my car out. He then makes a weird request - "Can you transfer me 300 Chilean pesos from your bank account?".  He then pulls out a wad of cash and says he has the money to give me back, but I just need to transfer 300 pesos from the bank account. With emphasis on my bank account. Bear in mind 300 pesos is like 30 cents only. He says it is for keeping the "hotel secured." That made no sense. I realized this guy was blatantly trying to scam the hotel guests. So, I said in a loud annoyed tone, "Absolutely not. I'm not transferring anything. ". He said something to his partner on the phone and hung up. And quickly walked out with me to open the parking lot. He didn't utter a word after that. I wasn't sure if this guy was a lone wolf or connected. So, I waited until I'm back home before writing this review.   If the management is reading this, it was the person at the front desk on Nov24th early morning (5am). He was a little on the larger side. I couldn't read his name tag.  On side note, the hotel itself was okay - small rooms but decent for a 1 night stay. There is off-campus parking.  "
