Top Hotels with Gyms in Quito

My wife and I always stay overnight at the Wyndham when we arrive on a late flight to Quito after our travels. We live fairly close-by but we feel like we are extending our vacation for another night when we stay here. The hotel is beautiful and everyone we come into contact with is very nice and provides impeccable service.

We are leaving for other parts of the country today but really enjoyed my 4 nights here. Mainly local business people - I didn't see any tourists at hotel. But very comfortable - rooms are small but good wifi, lots of outlets, and plenty of hot water. Located about 1/2 hour taxi ride from Ciudad Historico and walking distance to Mariscal. Good breakfast provided each morning. Adrian at front desk was kind enough to get a driver for us for a couple of days to leave the city. They do have a small gym as well. I hope the next places we stay in Banos, Cuenca, and Guayaquil are as nice as this.

We stayed here in early January before starting a bird photography trip. We got here a few days early to enjoy the city. We arrived at 2am, and were greeted by the desk staff and shown to our room by a very courteous gentleman. We missed the included breakfast the first day, as we didn’t get up until 12😜. There are two restaurants and a wonderful coffee shop attached. Wood-fired pizza was delicious, as were the pastries at the coffee shop. The staff was very accommodating and friendly

I stayed here as I was passing through Quito. My time here was great, I stayed in a king bed. The staff here is very nice and helpful and ordered room service a couple times and the food was great. The hotel is very close to plaza Foch, and plenty of shops and eateries within walking distance. Overall I was very happy with the value, free breakfast, room and everything. Will stay here again my next time in Quito.

First of all, the Hilton Colon - like most Hiltons outside the U.S. - is far superior to equivalent Hilton properties in the States. Relatively clean rooms (no stray hairs anywhere!), comfortable bed, great shower water pressure, clean towels, nice and cozy executive lounge, etc. The room, and the property in general, is dated but things mostly work as they should. In the Southwest facing ”executive” king room, and in the executive lounge, the views of the city are spectacular. Unfortunately, the ”free” breakfast buffet is slop, with the most atrocious coffee in Quito. The exception is the made-to-order egg station and the nice gentleman who expertly cooks them. Bring your own coffee from one of the countless cafes nearby and then order just the eggs and some toast. Or, better yet, get an authentic Ecuadorian breakfast elsewhere for just a few dollars. There was extensive road construction going on during my stay on Avenida Patria, which is the main road adjacent to the South side of the property. Very loud during the day, and bright spot-lights aimed at the hotel were left on during the night for some perplexing reason. Not the hotel's fault, of course - just something to be aware of if planning to stay here in the near future. Lastly, the front desk receptionists at this hotel reminded me of the female customs agents at Quito airport. Not friendly for sure, and rather stern. On the other hand, many other staff members, housekeeping in particular, were kind and helpful. Would I stay here again? I think so, once the road construction is completed.

My husband kept raving about this hotel. Ignore any negative reviews you might spot here. Front desk staff were attentive and pretty fluent in English (although it’s presumptive to expect that wherever we travel). The hotel is on a quiet street for Quito and had double-glazed windows (unusual in this temperate climate) so it was super quiet. I got there at night and closed the heavy drapes; only in the morning did I discover there were blackout shades, too — a nice touch. Abundant hot water (not always a given in Ecuador) and a spacious room. This hotel felt very luxurious to us. The pool and workout area, which we did not have time to use, was amazingly well appointed. Breakfast buffet was pretty varied and phenomenal as well. We felt pretty spoiled staying here. When we were there the English Ambassador and his entourage were also staying there, so I think it’s considered to be a pretty good place.

I highly recommend staying at the NH Quito hotel. The service is excellent and the food is of very good quality. Dinner-Chef Jonnathan personally serves guests at their table and all three meals during the week were excellent. The dedication and hard work of the entire staff is evident in the effort they put into making guests feel at home. The pillows are great and the room service is also very good.

We usually try to stay at Marriott properties when travelling as we know what we are likely to get and my Platinum Elite status normally brings some extras. We had arrived into Quito on a late flight so it was around 1am when we were checking in - quite a simple process and the receptionist gave us a quick rundown on the hotels facilities before we went up to our room. The room and bathroom were reasonably spacious and were fine for the 2 nights we stayed. The bed was especially comfortable. Breakfast was a good selection on the ground floor with an egg station to go with a cooked breakfast. Unfortunately they hadn’t switched on the electric warming plate under the sausage and bacon so it was cold which took away the pleasure somewhat. They do have a lounge available to those on the club floors and Platinum members but the receptionist hadn’t given us the correct keycard so had to change it before we could enter. A few snacks and drinks available in the afternoon and 2 or 3 cooked items in the evening. We didn’t eat dinner in their restaurant as they are a number of other restaurants nearby. Overall a good stay with room for some improvement.

We stayed here recently with our birding tour group but came 2 days early to see more of Quito. Our first room was a nice, but fairly standard, hotel room with a great view over the valley. Our second stay, one week later as we passed through Quito on our way east, was (fortunately for us) in a suite with a kitchen and washer/dryer. That was wonderful since it gave as an opportunity to do laundry before continuing our travels. The hotel is located about 3.5 miles from the Colonial area of Quito (Old Quito). A bit distant if you plan to go by foot but easy enough by taxi. The included breakfast is good, although lacking in variety. About your only choice is in how you'd like your eggs prepared. We ate dinner in the cafe twice with our group, once it was just OK, the second time was very good. Service can be a bit disorganized but friendly enough.

We stayed her with g adventures before and after our Galápagos trip. Very clean . Room was big and very comfy . Secure baggage store. We even left a bag while we were on our trip . Roof top pool and spa - amazing views but it does get incredibly hot . It’s open till late. Breakfasts start at 4.00 - we needed that as our trip left at 4.30!! Great Buffett selection !! Cold meat / cheese , hot options , fruit , fresh baked bread, cereals and yoghurt. They provide filtered water in the reception and on several of the floors - perfect to fill up water bottles. It’s not very safe walking round - we walked to the hop on hop off bus and we’re told by the police not to walk around. So we ate in the restaurant in the evening . Good food - soMe very tasty local dishes but avoid the pizza !! On our last night our tour went to an amazing Columbia’s restaurant- which was close by. My only gripe is that when we arrived at the hotel 10.30 am we were told that our room was ready but it would cost $50 to check in early . Or we could come back at 2 ish . We went on the tourist bus and had a great afternoon sightseeing.
