I have been going to these appointments for 8yrs now sometime twice a Yr appointments are spotless housekeeper regularly in to do beds and tidy up clean towels every day .....the restaurant is very good lots of choices we usually go full board and one of my party is ceoliac and the restaurant catters for her every meal head chef comes out and goes through what she can and can't have ...Nice quiet apartment hoter love the accommodation as we go in a group and at least with apartment you have sitting room and separate bedroom at same price as just a hoter room .....location fantastic for shops pubs and beach most importantly its on the flat ...at reception they will give you a kettle at no extra cost staff go over and beyond for us

Very first evening since we arrived at the hotel and had dinner there, my son and daughter got poisoned with food. It took them the whole week to recover after that. We travelled a lot and stayed in many hotels but never ever had such a bad experience with food poison. We stayed on the first floor. The apartment was spacious but the furniture was very old. The sofa's cover was all in disgusting stains . We couldn't even sit on it. I mentioned it two staff members, and they changed it straight away. The bathroom wasn't clean very well, the toilet was full of hear around and stains. The kitchen was nice ,the only issue was the fridge. It was very old, rusty, full of ice and dirt inside. Our room was near the lifts, so the whole night, you can hear people going in and out, shouting and screaming while waiting for the lifts. I understand it,people are on holiday and having fun but if you've got younger children ask for the second floor or higher apartment. One night next were drinking in their room. Since 22.00 in the evening they started arguing, fighting and throwing glasses to the walls. My three kids were very scared and we couldn't sleep the whole night. At 4.00 in the morning I went downstairs to ask the hotel staff to stop this drunk people to make all this noise. One man from the staff came to speak to them but they didn't stopp. He said he can't do much about it. He told me he wrote the report to the manager about their behaviour, but the manager will be hear in the morning. Really? I asked him to call the police because it's not possible to stay next door and listen to their swearing and fighting, especially I've got small children. Unfortunately, they didn't do anything about it. That's absolutely not a safe hotel for families with young children.

I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the negative reviews but I'm glad I booked. The staff were very friendly, especially the lady on reception and the two gentlemen in the restaurant. The apartment is very spacious and clean. Room looks like it has been refurbished recently. Sofa bed is a single with another pull out single bed underneath. Cleaners come in every day and empty the bins, replace towels, make the beds and sweep. Some reviews had said there was no kettle or hair dryer so I brought my own but in fact there is a hair dryer in the bathroom and a stove top kettle. Not loads of utensils and cooking equipment but enough for us. Very handy to have a fridge. Bathroom has a lock on the door (something a lot of hotels don't have), and basic toiletries - soap, shower gel and shampoo. Air con is key operated so can't be left on when you leave the room but I don't think that is a problem. Spacious balcony with table, four chairs and ash tray. Only English tv channels were news channels so might be worth taking a roku stick or similar if you want to watch tv. Beds were pretty comfy, and there were extra pillows and blankets in the wardrobe. Only downside to the room was that we were next to the lift, with the bedroom very close to the corridor so it could be quite noisy at night. The food was fine, there isn't a large selection but it was good. Breakfast had eggs, bacon, beans, sausages as well as bread, pastries, cereal, fruit etc. Dinners generally had two fish options, pizza, pasta, chips, at least one type of meat, as well as freshly cooked meat which changed each night, for example pork steaks, chicken burgers, turkey steaks... Better to go for food early as it can get busy as we found on the bank holiday. Drinks at the bar are very reasonably priced compared with some others. We didn't use the pool so cannot comment but also had the use of California facilities if we wanted to. Excellent location. Walking distance to Portaventura, around 20 minutes. Very close to the beach. Supermarket directly opposite with most things you would need and reasonable prices. Overall it's a nice spacious apartment in a good location, with good food and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend and would return if we are back in Salou.

We stayed a week at these apartments & was pleasantly surprised. Very clean & spacious in the heart of salou. Food was better than expected with a good variety & always warm the restaurant is very modern & relaxed. The pool is only small but you have access to the pool at california Gardens Hotel which is great & cheap drinks at the bar. Will definitely return nxt yest

Was very pleasantly surprised for the money paid. Booked a 1 bed, the apartment was huge, clean and well equipped. Fresh towels, beds made and bins emptied everyday . Very centrally located but not close enough to be bothered by noise. supermarket across rd if your self catering . Food was ok and que's weren't to long. Pool is small and mostly in shade all day but you can use sister hotel across road (busy road) which is better for kids .

We were pleasantly surprised with our accommodation. Booked 1 bed apartment but got 2 bedrooms which we were thrilled with. Large rooms, clean, fresh. Some furniture slightly old fashioned compared to the modern communal downstairs area but good condition and functional. All staff friendly and helpful from arrival to departure, nothing too much trouble and the desk staff encouraged us to let them know of any issues so they could rectify them. If they don't know they can't fix it. Clean towels, beds made, bins emptied and floors mopped daily. We did not expect cleaners to wash what little dishes we had used and did this ourselves. We were aware the pool didnt get much sun before we went, don't spend our days laying by the pool but sat out later one afternoon and and also visited the one at the sister hotel a couple of times. Think there would be a lot of hotels/ apartments in Salou that get limited sun and not just these apartments, certainly in Sept. The food was lovely, nice selection at every meal, different food each night and always found something to suit. Shame they don't include drinks with evening meal but you can buy from the bar. The restaurant doesn't open til 7.30pm for the evening meal which we personally thought was late, maybe that's just a British thing! As close to the beach, shops and restaurants as so many others and very level for walking. Would definitely recommend and go back for another holiday.

Reception staff very pleasant. Not impressed with room, huge balcony but in the shade all day, room was allocated overlooking the pool at back of hotel. One bed up against the wall, had to climb out of bottom of bed to get out, only one bedside cabinet with no electric socket. We did ask for a better location room but none were available so we had to stick it out. Bathroom wasn’t good. Shower over the bath which had a fixed glass screen. Terrible trying to get out of a tiny space end of bath as vanity unit was very close, anyone large would have trouble. Bonus was plenty of hot water. Kitchen area not too bad but a smell we couldn’t get rid of. Luckily there was a electric socket for travel kettle. Cleaning everyday, but in and out, change of towels and that was about it. Floor was never mopped so floor was filthy. Slippers had to be binned. Food not brilliant, cooked breakfast very basic not a wide selection. Evening meal also basic, one night burgers, another small pork chops, ok if you like fish, fish stew looked awful. Very repetitive. Desserts were limited, same two types of small cakes. There was yoghurts etc Restaurant itself was lovely as was the foyer but shame about the food available. Anyone wanting to chill at the pool would have to do it in the shade. 4/5 beds at a time with a little sun. By 2pm whole pool in shade. All in all wouldn’t return here sadly.

Great location, use of sister hotel across the road. Food great, varied. Reception helpful. Could only get WiFi on ground floor, no kettle, no hairdryer but worked round it.

Couldn't fault Apartamentos California on (almost) everything that matters. Room bright and seemed recently renovated. Main area, bedroom and bathroom - plenty of space in all. Big walk-in shower. Huge breakfast choice. Effective A/C (although centrally controlled, it was just right). Staff friendly, efficient and helpful. Minor personal moans? It could do with a big boost to the in-room wifi. Add A/C in the bedroom and it'd be my perfect apartment. I've already booked for 2024.
