My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon. Beautiful hotel in the Tuscan countryside - staff were all amazing and so friendly, the room was clean, comfortable and stylish and the pool / spa etc. were fantastic, however, a major let down for this hotel is the restaurant. Breakfast at the restaurant was good but lunch and dinner options are very minimal and extortionately priced. The restaurant is also not open for dinner on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday which we only found out when checking in. This is a major issue given that the closest restaurant is about 30 minute walk away and roads are not lit up so not ideal walking at night in the middle of nowhere. A taxi costs €40 return as it has to come from the main local town. The one night we did have dinner at the hotel we both ordered lasagne and when we cut into it it was still frozen / ice cold in the middle. We had to ask for it to be sent back and when the waiter returned they had simply reheated the same lasagnes up again. We didn’t eat the lasagne and went to bed hungry (no supermarkets close by either). We then had to ask for the meals to be taken off our bill as this was not offered to us. Other small things we noticed - room provided one small bottle of complimentary water on arrival which seemed thoughtless as there were two of us. Note that use of the spa is not included in price of stay - it is not overly clear when booking that this is not included. We knew treatments etc would be additional but assumed use of spa facilities would be. Also no private transfer options available to book with the hotel as you might expect from a high end hotel in the middle of nowhere, all travel had to be by taxi which came from the main town so very pricey. Overall we would not return to this hotel as the hotel restaurant itself was nowhere near the standard of the rest of the hotel and this is crucial given the hotel’s location. Huge let down for us compared to what the website appears to offer.
