"Due to issues with the visa documents and AA's poor service, I lost 2 nights of accommodation in Santo Domingo, a one-way AA ticket from LA to Santo Domingo, and an additional 3 nights of accommodation in LA plus additional fees. The total cost of purchasing a one-way ticket from LA to JFK and then transferring to Santo Domingo cost me almost US$1,000. What a shame! Basically, the accommodation was okay, but it happened that the hotel was renovating underground water pipes and it was very noisy during the day. Especially for my 2 nights on the 15th, it was very painful because I couldn't adjust the jet lag right away! This trip to Santo Domingo seemed to be very unsatisfactory at the beginning. It was a waste of money, not to mention that there was no one to help! Fortunately, I can speak English and finally got the documents sorted out and entered Santo Domingo 2 days late! I’m sorry that I keep talking about the unfortunate experience of this personal trip to provide travelers with reference, otherwise a beautiful trip will turn into many problems and leave bad memories. Travel nightmare. Thank you all!"

"It was unexpectedly pleasant that the hotel was a Russian host! Very hospitality and kind. The hotel is clean, everything new, not so long ago open. There is everything necessary, gave water as much as it was needed (drinking). There was hot water with which other places in Dominican Republic were troubles.. for its price the hotel is just super, advise. Breakfast is not special, it is true, but there are different cafes nearby. The parking was also at the hotel."
"The hotel waiters are very nice.
The breakfast is relatively rich, including vegetables, bacon, Spanish ham, boiled eggs, cassava mashed, etc., and the condiments include tabasco. There are not many kinds of juices but they are okay. There's Americano, but no latte.
The room is tidy and the size is OK, but only the executive room has a desk. In the standard room, you can only work at the small round table, which is not friendly to people who work day and night.
The sound insulation is relatively poor, you can clearly hear people talking outside the door, and you can easily be woken up in the middle of the night. Some residents were talking loudly in the corridor in the middle of the night, which was a bit noisy.
There is a restaurant downstairs with a good reputation."
"Absolutely loved this hotel! Would highly recommend. Everything about it was stunning. They were out of a few menu items, but the food was delicious. "
"The hotel is cheaper, the location is very good, you can go to the beach for a short walk, they also provide a drop-off service, which is cheaper than playing UBER, but the cash is accepted, the soundproofing of the room is generally the same, it is a different room on the first floor, suitable for temporary stay"

GGuest UserThis hotel was specially booked. The hotel has a long history and a good location. The deluxe bed booked this time, the front desk service is very warm, and the scenery outside the window is the most attractive to us. It is beautiful. The hotel's service is a plus, the pool is also a plus, the front desk and lobby concierge service is particularly good, it is a special trip. Satisfied
AAnonymous User+++++ One of the best experiences in Dominican Republic.
Antique building, interior, breakfast, service and help from employees: all this made the staying very pleasant and comfortable.
- the sink was leaking. The repairman came fast, however the problem appeared again after.
Suggestion: make available hot water during the day for the guests without a need to ask for it on reception.
LLuz Stella Suarez AlfonsoExcellent location, close to tourist sites, safe. Absolute comfort in the room, very clean. The attention and quality of guest service was unbeatable, especially from José Luis Montero, who helped us from the first minute. The stay was very pleasant.
GGuest UserI had stayed here before the pandemic about 3 times. The property is very clean, it is located in the older ”colonial” part of the city. Traffic in this area is a nightmare due to the narrow streets. SAFE area, police presence all over.
The GOOD: Clean, Safe, Staff Friendly, plenty of places nearby to eat. Breakfast supplied is ample and of decent quality, food for linch or dinner in the hotel restaurant is good though limited menu, space for seating is very limited inside the restaurant, water pressure in the shower is excellent the room safe is large. The BAD: Room Small like an IBIS, Bathroom smaller than an IBIS, A/C in my room was ”marginal” at best and previous stays here noticed this, Elevator very slow, the worst part this is not a business hotel. While the Internet provided is decent, there is NO work space available at all in the rooms. NO electrical outlets available all are hidden behind furniture or the bed and no desk type area. Had to charge my phone in the bathroom outlet and use computer on battery. Also had a room phone and minor toilet issue which I reported twice and nothing was done. DO NOT have the hotel arrange for the hotel taxi to drive you to the airport cost is $50.oo ! Make your own arrangements or get an UBER. CONCLUSION: While on vacation for a couple of days this is a Nice place to stay and see the colonial sights and enjoy the atmosphere. However, ”on business” this is not the place to stay. I will be returning on business for a longer stay in late January or early February, unfortunately I will have to stay elsewhere.
KkaryisamermaidThe hotel is now called casa colonial, it is extremely well located! Nearby the conde street and beautiful alleys, there is a big church across the street and a cozy cafe. The hosts were very nice, they make your breakfast and customize it according to your preferences, they serve nice coffee with it or juice as well. The hotel inside is an old colonial house, it has rooftop areas, green areas and a pool, each part of it looks very romantic. The rooms are nice, some are small and others are bigger but you feel you’re in another time zone. Will definitely go back!
LLeopoldI have no complaints. My stay was well pleasurable. I would like to, however give special thanks to Wesley at the front desk, he was very courteous and accommodating, especially that he speaks English well, we were able to communicate with ease and also the cleaning staff who always have a warm and pleasant look on their faces. One in particular name Molin.
IIndo_backpackerzPro: -safe area even at night, because just beside the militery area of the presidential palace, even at 10pm there is still a grocery open.
- Breakfast is simple but good enough: toast with cheese and ham, coffee and a boiled egg.
-Spacious and clean room, friendly staff, can refill drinking water.
-500m walking to the gate of the colonial area.
- Taxi stand is at the same street
- Nice, spacious outdoor, sitting area
- A personal fridge in the room
Cons:
-A bit noisy from the road/a bar until around midnight.
- Shower is not really hot (only slightly warm).
花花花ritaThe front desk environment is very dark, next to the casino. The rooms are large, but the network is particularly poor. Some rooms have no internet at all. You need to go out to use the internet. Some rooms have large mirrors facing the bed, making people very uncomfortable.
