Pestana Vila Sol Golf & Resort Hotel

Pestana Vil Sol Vilamoura was a very comfortable place for a short break. There’re lots of facilities for a restful break - extensive grounds, indoors and outdoors swimming pools, tennis courts, other wellness facilities, bar and restaurant. There’s also a 27-hole golf course and golfing school for enthusiasts. The pond at the back was a joy with its resident swans! Our garden room was in a block of villas with a patio at the back. The service was great - issues raised were immediately tended to.

Really enjoyed a golf trip here in December. When for 3 nights with a mate. Played the course twice and enjoyed 1-18 better than 10-27. You don't need a buggy, so not worth forking out for. Food is cheaper in the clubhouse, so better going there for lunch and beers. You can sit outside and watch the golf in the sun. Breakfast was great, rooms were sufficient. Pool table in the bar was also good. €7 in an Uber to the harbour Would go back

Definitely not a 5 star hotel. Started off badly when we arrived at 1030 am due to an early flight. We were told we would get a call when our room was ready. We received no call so went back to reception 4 times and each time we were told another 15 mins, 40 mins then 30 mins. Finally had our room key at 1530 when check in should be 1500. Lots of others checked in and were allocated their rooms straight away. For our inconvenience we were given a voucher for a free drink at the bar. I booked a golf room for my husbands birthday which is supposed to have a view of the golf course. We could only see a bit of the putting green. Quite noisy in the evening due to the bar below. The garden rooms all have sun loungers on the terrace but none in the golf rooms even though the balcony is huge so I would have preferred one with loungers on. the golf rooms are more expensive so I expected more. Air con will not stay on for longer than 5 mins so very hot room in the night. Breakfast is a nightmare if you want a table outside. Twice I have had to get the table settings myself from inside as the tables were not laid. I had to ask for hot water for the tea as there was none served to us. There is nothing close by so if you want to walk to restaurants ETC I would not recommend booking here. No entertainment in the evenings if you didn’t want to go out. Rooms kept really clean by the cleaners every day.

We had an amazing time at this resort. My wife and I enjoyed our surroundings, the facilities. The music, food and drink were spectacular. The staff were exceptional, helpful and professional. The pool was a pleasure to swim and there was a spa to enjoy.

Staff are lovely and very friendly. They will go out of their way to help with anything. They all speak fluent English. The check in was good, bags taken to our room and we were happy with our suite! Nice bathroom, good shower temp and power. Housekeeping good, clean everywhere. Breakfast was very good, great selection and nice and fresh.

We stayed for a week at the beginning of May. The breakfast was good, and all the staff were extremely helpfull and friendly. Rooms facing the golf course with nice size balcony. Housekeeping was first class. The pool area is lovely with comfortable sun loungers and umbrellas. Will be back for sure!!

Lovely resort, staff helpful and they have everything you need! This was a joint 50th birthday celebration leaving the children back home with the kind grandparents. Little unexpected extra such as the birthday cake on arrival. Lovely suite with views of gardens and was very clean. The pool bar area was lovely.

It was our first time at this resort and it did not disappoint. I travelled there with my two sons aged 15 and 12. There was plenty for them to do - they particularly enjoyed the tennis, the games room and of course the pools. We stayed in a Suite Vila Sol which was really spacious, clean and comfortable. The resort is very nice with stunningly beautiful gardens. Lovely breakfast. Drinks weren’t too expensive.
