Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel on the Bund Reviews

The location is great, close to the metro and Yu Garden. Although the hotel has been open for quite a few years, it’s very well maintained, clean, and comfortable. Kim was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

The location is good, walking distance to Yu Garden. Nearby to the metro station, opposite one road only.

Had a great stay at this hotel. The gentleman who checked in for me was very helpful and arranged a room with an awesome view although the hotel was very busy. Really appreciate that! I believe his name was Kim. The rest of the hotel staff were all friendly and welcoming. The room cleanliness was great and the bed was comfortable. The location is of course great for those who want to be close Yuyuan Garden and do some sightseeing. I recommend this hotel for those who want to stay in central Shanghai with close proximity to major tourist attractions.

The room could have been a bit cleaner — there was still quite a bit of dust in some areas such as the blinds and furniture. The furniture also looked a little worn with some scratches here and there. However, the bed was very comfortable, the linens were clean, and the pillows were soft. The room itself was spacious, which was great for our family of four, and our kids really enjoyed it. The view from our room was beautiful — we could see the Oriental Pearl Tower right from the window. The breakfast was decent; we stayed for four nights, and the menu changed slightly every day, which kept it interesting. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, especially Mr. Kim, who assisted us warmly during check-in and made everything smooth and pleasant. The location was excellent — it’s right next to the train station, making it very convenient to travel to places like Nanjing Road and other attractions around the city. We would definitely consider staying here again the next time we visit Shanghai. What impressed us the most was that we stayed on my wife’s birthday, and the hotel surprised us with a lovely birthday cake — such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture! Before we checked out, they even prepared a small box of treats as a farewell gift, which made our experience even more memorable.

The location is near Yuyuan Garden station(Line 10), so it's convenient, and the subway is very close. The cleanliness of the interior and the response were also very good.

Really great hotel. Our experience was marvelous. The room is very spacious and clean, the view is great, the hotel is walking distance to most tourist attractions (Yu Garden, the Bund, East Nanjing Rd), but what sets it apart as the hotel that I want to come back to for my next trip in Shanghai are the staff. From the moment we checked in until when we checked out, the staff were all very warm and welcoming and really made sure we were comfortable and all our needs are attended. Special shout out to the receptionist Hannie who even added us in Wechat and answered our questions regarding where to go to shop, to eat, etc. She really made sure we had a pleasant experience. I'd love to be back soon and stay at this hotel again. ❤️ The picture is the view from our room.

Our stay at Renaissance Yu garden was very nice. You can walk 5 mins to visit the yu garden area. We traveled with our 1 year-old baby and the hotel provided a crib (I made a reservation in advance). The room was spacious with a small living room area, a huge closet and a nice view (I added a photo of the view from the window at night). The breakfast is tasty, I recommend the waffles. The hotel gave us a nice present to celebrate the mid-autumm festival which we appreciated it very much. After I left the hotel, I forgot a bracelet in the room. Kim kindly helped us to arrange the shipment to our home back in Dalian city. Thanks Kim, you are the best! Our experience at Renaissance Yu garden was great. We will definitely go back for our next visit to Shanghai.

The room was spacious and the night view was fantastic. Loved the location as it was a 5 min walk to Yu Garden. The Metro train was just across the road and very convenient to travel around.

The view was amazing, the staffs were very friendly and nice . Breakfast was delicious. Both Chinese and western cuisine. The gym equipments were good and was open 24h . Very close to the Yu garden

So close to yu garden, with the nearest shopping mall just around the corner. The room is clean, and all the staff are very helpful. Always my go-to place to stay whenever I have a business trip in Shanghai.

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel! The place has nice views, it was very clean and well-maintained throughout. Hotel in perfect location, near metro station and YuGarden area (less than 5 min walk). With amazing view of pudong skyscrapers from the pool and hotel lobby.
