The room was great, especially the bathroom. The environment was very pleasant, and the staff were really enthusiastic. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it varied over the two days and there was plenty of fruit.

The Hongta is an excellent hotel. It is very well maintained. The staff, including the front desk, housekeeping, room service, and all service staff that we've met were very friendly, courteous, and efficient. In particular, the service and efficiency of Johnson Zhang (Manager?) in the dining room at breakfast is exemplary. The buffet breakfast is excellent with good variety of both Western and Chinese food. The hotel is also conveniently located within a five minute walk to the entrance of a subway line. I would choose to stay at the Hongta again the next time I'm in Shanghai and would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends and relatives.

Service was great, hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We have faced cleaning issue in bathroom on arrival and we were offered to change the room. Beeakfast was great ana staff at restaurant was fantastic as well!

Despite The Hongta Luxury Collection being nearly 25 years old, as an architect, I am highly impressed by its interior design! The North American vintage style, from its color palettes to its furnishings and overall arrangement, has truly stood the test of time. The gravitas and sophisticated restraint of its 'old money' aesthetic simply cannot be compared to the flashy superficiality of 'influencer' designs. If you take the time to truly appreciate it, The Hongta Luxury Collection, as the only remaining Luxury Collection hotel in Shanghai, still possesses a unique and enduring allure!

Although the decor has a classic feel, it beautifully incorporates the charm of old Shanghai. The suite was quite spacious, but my tight schedule meant I didn't get a chance to take any photos. The swimming pool environment was decent; I'd forgotten my swim cap, but the staff proactively lent me one. I hope the breakfast offerings can be improved, as the current variety of hot dishes is rather limited. After I gave my feedback, the staff said they would follow up. I'm looking forward to staying here again on my next visit to Shanghai!

Although the hotel is a bit dated, the facilities are very well maintained, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. Both the service and cleanliness absolutely meet a five-star standard. My only minor disappointment was being assigned a connecting room. I had specifically requested a quiet room when booking, and I really should have been informed at check-in that it was a connecting room. During the day, it was quiet, leading me to assume I had considerate neighbors. However, the guests in the adjacent room didn't return until after 11 PM and then started talking loudly. They continued watching TV and listening to music until well past midnight, keeping my child and me awake until then. The hotel attracts many international guests. While the breakfast quality was a bit average, everything else was excellent. It's conveniently located, just a 300-meter walk from Century Link Plaza. I would definitely stay here again!

Great hotel with good services thats fitting one of 5 star stature

Absolutely fantastic, and incredible value for money! The rooms are spacious and luxuriously decorated. If you don't mind a few slightly older facilities, it's definitely worth booking. It was spotlessly clean, absolutely no issues with hygiene. The service was exceptional; the doorman thoughtfully helped us with our luggage. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Shanghai.

It’s a place with great service and very genial and helpful staff. The experience was generally good, except for their amenities. Learned from couple of staffs, this hotel has been built for over twenty years and lots of amenities should be replaced/renovated. They had a plan to do that this year, but it was somehow cancelled later. I encountered some problem with the AC of the room 1710; the AC was somehow old and malfunctioning and the room was hot. The staffs are kind and patient, they helped me with switching room right away. Overall, old place, but great people. Will recommend.

Highly Recommended. Spacious and conveniently located to to a big shopping mall with ample food choices and shopping too. Very comfortable and relaxing to be in this hotel. Personally they have the best and most comfortable bed I ever slept in a hotel. EXCELLENT is just one work I would describe this hotel

We went on a business trip. The hotel is good. There are no robots to take to the room. The people are friendly. The floor is made of fabric. Breakfast is good, but there isn't much variety. Overall, I'm satisfied.
