Embassy Suites by Hilton Springfield

I can’t say enough about this hotel. I travel close to 300 nights a year and this was by far the best hotel I’ve been too. From the staff, housekeeping, hotel amenities and breakfast it was truly fantastic. I stayed at this hotel from January 31- April 22 and will only stay there if I need to go back to the DC metro area. It is very close to the metro going into the city. There is always Lyfts and Ubers around. Loads of restaurants just down the road. The billing was flawless, I never once had a issue. Every time I had a issue it was quickly resolved. I would give this hotel 10 stars if I could.

I made my reservations on line through the Choice Website and check-in was quick and easy. Once in my room I found it to be clean and the bed comfortable and well mad. The bathroom in my room was one of the smallest that I have encountered with this chain. The room overall as I sad was clean but it was beginning to show it's age. It front cover of my HVAC Unit was loose and quiet loud but after a little work I was able to secure it enough to stop the noise. The breakfast area features the usual waffles, eggs, a meat, with fruit, yogurt, cereals, juice and coffee. The breakfast area can get very crowded but for the most part the attendant keep it clean and well stocked. This hotel features a Free shuttle to the Franconia-Springfield Metro Station which is a little over a mile away. With free parking at the hotel this shuttle is a very nice feature that we took advantage of several times during our stay. When we arrived back at the Metro Station, we simply called the hotel for pickup and in about 10 minute our shuttle arrived. Over all I was very satisfied with my stay and will stay here again when I am in the D.C./NOVA area.

The rooms were average but clean. Nice to have fridge and stove but only stayed one night so we didn't use then. What set this stay apart was how courteous the front desk were. Even to my two teenage boys who had a mishap and needed help several times. (Was very comical). I wish I had gotten their names! Thanks again! You are great and we will be staying with you all again because of your friendliness.

It's close to DC, next to the 95th road, and there are several commercial centers around us. Our stay in this hotel on the way from New York to North Carolina is indeed a good choice. The room is large, standard American breakfast, good value for money.

This property was probably a nice place at one time. It’s still pretty good but seems like it’s on the way down. There were several signs from “management” that gave me pause and seemed like “red flags.” One sign said if you were extending your stay and didn’t pay by noon they would take your possessions and hold them until you paid. Makes me think this is a common problem in this hotel if it warrants a sign. Another sign said if you were caught wasting breakfast food you would be charged a fee. Makes me feel as if the clientele frequenting this hotel must be of questionable character if this is happening often enough to warrant a sign. There were other signs but I won’t go through them all, but overall it didn’t give me the sense that it was a great place to be and I felt afraid to make a mistake. Like what if I tried the waffles and didn’t like them? Would I need to eat then anyway. The shower curtain rod was coming detached from the wall and since the rod was curved and sagging it caused the curtain to collect in the middle and basically not work as you’d like a shower curtain to work. Overall, I was anxious to leave this hotel. Luckily it was a quick, one-night, stop. Next time I will probably spend the extra money and stay somewhere else.

Rooms were fine.Food was constantly running out at breakfast on Sunday, but this may be due to lack of staff. We stayed three nights. Saturday and Sunday due to events, parking was nonexistent. I finally after circling a very large lot, found a spot in the back. The worse part, however, is that my elderly mom had to walk the entire lot with a cane in the cold because the front entry area had cars parked ( not just waiting) in it so I could not drop her off. The front desk said that they had no control over where people park. Also an eight story hotel should have more than a half dozen handicapped spots, I would think. I had another stay booked here next month which I cancelled already. Will not be stayed with this company in the future if I can avoid it.
