We returned to Grinkle Park this week after a previously lovely stay in December. Staff are lovely, receptionist Ollie and breakfast staff Michelle along with superb chef and bar staff. The downside was the breakfast waiter who was rude and incompetent. He lets the rest of the staff down. However, despite him, we had a lovely stay.

We spent 2 nights at this stunning hotel which is set in a beautiful estate. Our room was overlooking the carpark, it was so peaceful. The room itself was in keeping with the grandness of the hotel, a lovely large room with bath/shower with complimentary bath robes and slippers. There was also tea/coffee making facilities with a plentiful supply of tea/coffee. We only ate breakfast which consisted of a range of pastries, cereal, fruit and yoghurt. There was also a cooked menu which had a superb selection. The staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for you. If you are looking to tour the areas of Whitby, Saltburn and Scarborough this is an ideal central location to stay. If you book direct the hotel always have special deals throughout the year.

The building was impressive, the grounds were unbelievable, the food first class and the staff could not have been friendlier. Grinkle Park is now on our list of favourite hotels. It is an ideal centre for exploring the North York Moors and the Yorkshire coast.

We spent 3 days at the hotel in a de -luxe room.. The room was very good and clean but not much of a view. The food was also very good. Overall a very pleasant experience.

This was our 6th stay at Grinkle. Sadly, a few small things have changed, not for the better. Our room was lovely, great views, lovely bed and biscuits ...as usual. Sadly the new 'all in one soap' was not appreciated, no body lotion,or the lack of a face flannel.... The evening meal food was nothing special, and the waiting on staff, win first prize in speed! I hadn't finished either course and the plate was whipped away, I had not finished my last mouthful. The breakfast was wonderful and set at a good pace. Excellent range of foods. The receptionist was good, but didn't ask on our checkout, how was it? Due to Grinkles setting and location, we will be back, but my expectations will be lower than previous visits.

The hotel itself is very nice, set in its own grounds and with an obvious pedigree. The room we stayed in was not at all bad; characterful and comfortable with a nice bed, a TV, and all the usual bits and pieces. Overall though it all felt a bit tired and in need of some love. The grounds were lovely, and perfectly complemented the house. Service was variable to say the least though. The reception was excellent, but mealtimes felt a little disorganised. If there was a Maître D' then they weren't in evidence, but that said the staff were pleasant and polite. The hotel was in my opinion let down hugely by it's food. Portion sizes for dinner were extremely small, with bland vegetables and just badly-prepped accompaniments. Breakfast - (which was forgotten on one day) - faired little better. I will say that my porridge was very good, however my companions' bacon had clearly been sitting around for a while and could potentially have been bounced off the floor, and my wife's eggs benedict had a uniquely dry sauce and stale muffins. Overall, a decent hotel, but if you want to eat, I'd recommend visiting Whitby or Easington and trying your luck there.

Loved the ambience and grounds of the hotel. The staff were friendly and could have no complaints with room and service. We plan to return.

Our journey began 18 months ago when we chose Grinkle Park as our wedding venue. Our dream venue in a dream location. The rustic, manor style house, set in incredible grounds was the perfect setting for our woodland theme wedding. From the minute we booked our day, the staff were fantastic, no matter what our question was or what advice we needed, they were just a call away. They certainly helped to prepare us for an amazing day! We had the whole venue to ourselves with our guests choosing to stay at the venue with us. It really did feel special. On the 22nd March this year we said our vows at Grinkle Park and it was perfect. Every single member of staff helped this to happen. From organising breakfast to helping with my 5 month old baby. The day ran so smoothly. We honestly can’t thank the staff enough! The venue is perfect for a wedding and our day was the best day of our lives ❤️ Feedback we had from our guests - “Best wedding I have ever been too” “People will be talking about your wedding for years to come” “The staff were amazing, especially Annette” 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would give higher if we could ❤️
