SadieMaltidosNever been to other places in Finland. There is no comparison, so I can't judge, I can only say that this shop is the cheapest shop I can find that can walk to the train station. Dorm room is not bad. The toilet and shower are too tight. I only stayed one night, so it was OK. If you want to stay here for a long time in Helsinki, it won't feel too comfortable. But it is too expensive to book a hotel or bed and breakfast in Finland. So my fellow citizens, don't come to Northern Europe if you have no budget. The staff here is very nice btw. It's not cold, very enthusiastic.

BeefstuSenate Hotel, although basic, is situated well for local attractions - 10 minutes walk from the shops/ restaurants/nightlife of Helsinki city centre; 15 minutes walk from the harbour, if you arrive by ferry; and right next to Senate Square/Helsinki Cathedral. The hotel, itself, is based in an apartment building, on the fifth floor, and has ten rooms. There's a five-hour window, in which there's a receptionist to meet you (3-8pm). Outside of this time, you are given a code to enter the main door of the building, and then the front door of the hotel section, which I had to do. As it turned out, a friendly staff member was still there when I arrived, and I was fortunate enough to be given a free room upgrade. The double room I was given, was larger than average, and included a wash basin and small refrigerator. The bathroom and toilets are shared, but clean with a good, strong shower, and separate men's and women's toilets. There's also a small shared kitchen, so you could prepare food. My hotel room had a comfy bed, and good thick enough curtains which, if you're here in the height of Summer, means you won't be woken by the sunrise before 4am! The decor is a bit dated, but if you need info on what to do, where to go, and what's happening in Helsinki, there's lots of information. This is more of a short-stay hotel - a few days, at most, but if you need a well-located, warm, simple place to base yourself while in the city, this is actually a good choice.

Peaceful place, no noise from the traffic and otherwise also very quiet.
Room had tv, refrigerator and a comfy chair beside the bed.
What can I say? For this price I say this a steal. Also breakfast was very good.
I fully recommend this at least for solo travelleres like I.

The distance is very close. There is no self-service check-in. The environment is not bad. There are shared bathrooms, laundry rooms, and kitchens. You need to bring your own ingredients. The price is high and it is only about 1.5 kilometers away from Vantaa Airport. It is very cost-effective for those who want to travel for a short time or transfer. It's like living in a semi-forest! The heater is not very warm and the temperature is a bit low. I don’t know if the cold spot will be higher!

Sugar free chocolate
There is no soap in the shower room, so we recommend that you bring your own! The room was a twin, but it was surprisingly large and comfortable. However, the bed is a little narrow, so it may be difficult for some people. It was a good impression for me personally.

Guest UserBefore checking in, they did not send the code to access the number via mail and SMS. There are no workers in the hotel. I had to spend a lot of money to talk to an English operator.

I stayed in a joint shower, toilet room.
Cheap in Helsinki hotels
However, it was far from the city center, so the transportation cost was that much.
The location of the hotel is in District B and you can come by bus 77 from the central station
The hotel had a kitchen and was able to cook.
I had to prepare oil, salt and forks myself.
There were three supermarkets in a little walk.
There were several showers, and I think the best was right behind the kitchen.
The refrigerator in the room is not very cold
It was inconvenient that the reception door was often closed.
