The services at Jumeirah are attentive and considerate, the dishes are delicious and suit Chinese tastes. The three-day stay is full of wonderful memories. If I come to Dubai next time, I will choose Jumeirah.

You will not be disappointed staying in the Sheraton Grand. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay from the moment I arrived to my departure. The hotel is conveniently located a 15 minutes drive from the airport, and a 5-10 minute walk to the metro which is linked to downtown Dubai, approximately taking 20-30 minutes in total to reach the Burj Khalifa. Breakfast was exceptional, with a very extensive selection, and excellent customer service throughout. All the staff were warm, welcoming and attentive. Beautiful rooftop pool and great gym. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice new freshly designed hotel, super convenient for meetings in Media City and commute around as there is a metro and it is at the start of Palm Jumeirah. Room was very large with kitchen and nice views over the water including a fireworks on Saturday… cool.

A truly perfect stay! It's cut from the same cloth as Atlantis but with a more artistic vibe. The fire and water fountain show is definitely worth seeing! Breakfast was abundant and varied. Due to a flight change, we had to check out a day early, and the hotel surprised us by delivering our ordered breakfast items right before we left. It was beautifully presented and far from a perfunctory gesture, which was a delightful surprise!

Gorgeous Hotel, Most Uncomfortable Room Ever. First the positives, the place is stunning, like a Conrad's, beach and infinity pool great, free beach chairs the whole kit. Staff is stellar, breakfast buffet ample. Now for the series of unfortunate events. 1. Booked 3 mos. in advance requested high floor nice view. Reply we will try. No. Got 7 of 16 floors, no view without cash. Deluxe room is beautiful but a Standard size. Honesty! 2. We were sick most of the time here. The AC was stuck at 17, freezing and they said it will warm up slowly. False, woke up with head colds, sick all day. Thermostat bad. I heard another guy complain about the same 2 days later. No upgrade only repair. 3. Next the pillows are super soft, day 2 suffered severe neck pain headache, sick all day. Tried to sleep in the chair, both narrow in front and fabric rough as camel hair. Walmart cheapest better! No comfortable place to rest, torture or the body. Bed ok. Trick, sleep on red decorative pillow or towels. 4. Many minor pains. Room felt like a park madhouse. Phone power cord drops out every night, hairdryer plug in dark cabinet, with a hidden power off button, so when fumbling to plug in you secretly cut off the outlets power. What's the point of this? Froze my wet head while waiting staff to show me invisible button. 5. More. Lights and remote very high tech look so utterly flat minimalist buttons hard to work. You get two buttons by the door, hard to predict what order to punch to get two modes only, master lights on or just lamps. Wake up your partner when you just need a hallway lamp. TV remote keeps skipping out of channels back to hotel home screen, like living in a TV maze. 6. More. Cheap with the bath dispensers, squirt out teeny amounts so kill your fingers and patience. Coffee machine tasted truly bad. Minor things but death by 1000 cuts. 7. Summary, designer is a high artiste A for aesthetics, F- for ergonomics. Best Western room 1000x more room and comfort. 8. Staff is nice but can't do anything for you except send a stream of repairmen knocking. The 3rd day we were sick with E Coli after free coffee at Burj Al Arab. Beauty but distress again. 9. General outside hotel: Watch for E coli here don't trust any water or water based food. 10. Good news: See the Palm island from View at the Palm in St Regis across street. Pay for fast track or suffer interminable lines of hot sweaty patrons. Burj Al Arab the big Sail hotel is close, avoid free coffee. Get to the beach, it gets 5 C degrees warmer than hotel and free towels as blankets while you wait. Delicious feeling. Now you are prepared.

The location is very convenient, not far from the Burj Khalifa. The breakfast was decent, with a good selection of Indian food. The room was quite spacious. Overall, it's a pretty standard hotel, but decent value for money.

I really liked this hotel. The rooms are clean, and they change towels if you leave them on the floor (there's a sign in the bathroom explaining this). The breakfasts are excellent with a good variety of cheeses, vegetables, and pastries. There's also a lean towards Indian cuisine, but Europeans won't go hungry either. The pool is clean, and they provide towels. There are tennis courts on the property. The hotel is a convenient 10-minute walk to the airport, which is great for transit layovers. However, we stayed during a tennis tournament in February, and the walk to the tennis courts took about 12 minutes. The metro is about a 15-minute walk away. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Asiana Grand Hotel

Location - close to DXB airport, it's a 8 min walk from Al Rigga metro station (don't follow google maps, use exit 2, walk against traffic towards Al Safadi restaurant, turn left into 37 st to the end to reach Al Muraqqabat Rd, turn right and head to the road crossing, walk to the right past the carpark and you'll see the hotel building, back entrance is ahead). Good hotel for exploring this older side of Dubai. Takes about 2 hours to walk to the Dubai Old Souk area which is a pleasant exploration in cool weather. Oh there's another Asiana Hotel nearby close to Salah Al Din metro so don't get mixed up. Neighbourhood - a mix of Filipino, Pakistani, Indians and locals, a vibrant area with shops, supermarkets, restaurants everywhere. A few night markets and large discount shops are nearby too. The largest mall is Deira City Centre Mall is half hour walk away or 1 station from Al Rigga station. Room - Large room with king bed, sofa and coffee table, working table, huge tv, small kitchen with microwave and fridge, bathroom with bathtub and shower, closet room. It was basically an apartment! Too big almost. The kitchenette came in useful to reheat leftovers I took home from a large dinner. Very modern look with grey and wood finishing, marble tile at foyer and carpet in the living and sleeping area. Elegant subtle lighting for a refined soft feel. Bed - comfy, 4 pillows provided Cleanliness - very clean everywhere Bathroom - very clean, very big, awesome shower pressure Facilities - I used the swimming pool on the rooftop. Sufficiently long about 20m for lap swimming. Pool was heated given the winter season. Gym is on top level too and looked well-equipped. The hallways on the room floors are wide and not cramped. Breakfast - Good. Egg station, a good selection of breads and baked items, mains and carbs tended towards Arab and Indian cuisine styles. Loved the Masala Tea. Good service. Check in and check out - took a while because I stayed during a busy week. Lifts and access - two lifts only so can get busy at breakfast and check out time. (Taking the stairs might be quicker) The main entrance faces away from the main Al Muraqqabat Rd (so it's quieter) though there is a more convenient back entrance with a slope for those on foot heading to Al Riqqa station. Nearby places to check out - Dabha Tea Shop; Al Samadi Sweets; Little Star Peshawar Pakistani food; Deira City Center Mall; Al Safadi Lebanese Restaurant; Deira Clock Tower Negatives - a luggage rack in the room would've been nice; not many English speaking tv channels to watch; some sound of aircraft overhead might bother some; don't need keycard to access room floors which can be a security risk. Overall - a very high quality hotel in a vibrant area.

This was a mixed bag. There were good things and there were things that could've been better. On the good side were the staff downstairs. Maria kindly gave me late check out and Genelyn was a lot of fun. She organized a driver for me to look around Dubai. The room size was good and the pillows allowed for a comfortable sleep. On the other hand, my room looked a little unclean. There was water on the carpet. I only found out after standing on it and getting wet socks. Parts of the room looked a little old and used. All in all though I believe that I got value for money.

3 star at a max for Dubai. I guess having a club enhances the star rating but this is not to say it is poor, but rooms need upgrading.  It serves a specific client group, this definitely defeats the Accor Standards and not good enough of management to say “well they are 90% of our guest”.  I choice to say as the price ratio was good for the night but if the stay was longer I would have ran away! Would I come back, not likely unless Accor Head office does some serious head banging!
