What an absolute delight this place is! We had lunch with friends and family recently, and immediately booked to come back for afternoon tea. The hotel is down a long lane right by a small beach. The staff are wonderful and the food is very very good. Lunch was a set menu but staff checked to be sure that the menu suited us all. Our lactose-intolerant friend loved her meal. Afternoon tea could not have been better, generous sandwiches, the freshest of scones, homemade jam... Very highly recommended

We booked last minute for a one night stay at Knockinaam Lodge. Everything from our arrival to departure was fantastic. On arrival we were greeted and our luggage was taken straight to our room. We were then treated to delicious coffee and homemade shortbread in the cosy lounge. Our predinner drinks were served by a very polite and friendly server - sorry we didn’t get any names. Dinner was absolutely delicious. Beautifully presented and worthy of a Michelin star. Breakfast was equally delicious. Our bedroom was beautifully presented, the bed extremely comfortable. We can’t wait to stay again. We even bought jars of the marmalade and jam we enjoyed at breakfast! A gem of a place.

We stayed for 3 nights last week and had another super time in Churchill. This was our 3rd visit and the food, staff and general ambience is warm, welcoming and traditional but not necessarily in an old fashioned sense other than it’s hard to find all three at once these days. We enjoyed it so much that we’ve booked to come in July.

Beautiful location in quiet seaside retreat. Very comfotable accommodation, huge bed and large clean ensuite. Outstanding menus totally different every meal and food to die for - better than the Inver. All dietary requirements well catered for. What more can say!

another perfect overnight stay with everything just as it should be - one day hotels like this with thoughtful staff, high standards but not an ounce of stuffiness or fuss will be a distant memory and we'll all miss them - make the most of Knockinaam while you can

We had our wedding dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge. Absolutely everything about our stay was perfect. The food and staff were exceptional and made our day very special. We would not hesitate to return. Our wedding guests were as impressed as ourselves with seven course dinner.

Booked for a special birthday lunch today and it was a delightful experience. The food was superb and not hurried in any way, location is stunning and we were treated so well by everyone there today. To all the moaners and complainers on this site I bet that you are not as well fed at home! It is quite clear that it is a set menu and we were given 3 opportunities to advise if we had any dietary requirements. If you don’t take up that opportunity you cannot blame the hotel staff if you do not like what you get. Thank you to all the staff today who made it such a lovely birthday for us.

This was our second visit to Knockinaam Lodge; we stayed for three nights leading up to New Year. We arrived with high expectations given our previous fabolous experience and our expectations were exceeded. To say the customer experience was fabolous would be understating it. Your not treated as customers but welcomed as guests and made to feel at home from the moment you arrive. Dining is an adventure. Its like going to the theatre where each act is a course full of creativity, flavour and the finest produce. Each and every one of the team are a delight and go out of there way to make you feel at home. We enjoyed every moment and look forward to returning.

My booking at Knockinaam Lodge came about due to a last minute cancellation and I was delighted that I took up the opportunity to revisit this wonderful hideaway beside the Irish sea. An old diary tells me that I first stayed ay Knockinaam in April 1979 but the current version is vastly superior! My room-Bachelor- was one that I was already familiar with and the housekeeping team had it as fastidiously perfect as ever. The food....much has been said of Tony Pierce's sublime cuisine and after 29 years at the Stove he is better than ever! Not one morsel of my three breakfasts and dinners was other than totally delicious and the planning and execution of meals of that calibre takes more than a little effort. From the butter on the table by way of deliciously homemade rolls and then through each well balanced course of the tasting menu the professionalism and love of cooking shines through. Everything in the dining room is pitch perfect...crisp immaculate napery, impeccably polished glasses and attentive, friendly service by well trained and capable young people. The wine list is a work of great dedication and contains many delights. If you need a relaxing break and would like to be gently cossetted while enjoying food that is superior to many Michelin starred establishments then Knockinaam Lodge is for you.
