One of the best hotels I have ever stayed. Friendly and helpful stuff, great breakfast. Highly recommended.

My wife and me stayed at the Garden Hotel Suzhou from 02 to 06 December 2023. This is an excellent hotel with a large compound with several low rise buildings. Location is excellent with ample shops and dining options all around the hotel. The room is large enough and better than most other hotels. Breakfast spread is very good with enough western and eastern varieties. Staff are friendly and helpful. Taxis are easy and conveniently arranged with the help of hotel staff. If we do go to Suzhou again, we will stay at the Garden Hotel Suzhou again.

Good choice for stay in Suzhou, super clean, nice service, a secret place full of history and culture. Breakfast is a must try, too. Strongly recommended.

the location is perfect if you have dinner and drinks nearby in the walking street, i was upgraded to a very nice suite, clean and service is good

Convenient location. Very close to 网师园 and 十全街。Hotel room was a bit dated and the carpet needed replacement. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. Overall a pleasant stay.

Exceptional service. Conveniently located. Loved that they offered loccitane products. Also did a tour of the hotel given it’s a historical site. Our guide Ms.Guo did a great job.

Nanyuan Hotel was once a state guesthouse and has received many dignitaries. It is particularly worth mentioning that the important talks on the establishment of Singapore Industrial Park in Suzhou took place in Mingxuan of the hotel. As a representative of Suzhou garden-style hotels, some major events and important figures in contemporary Chinese history are related to the hotel. The hotel garden is extremely beautiful, and the precious trees and pavilions are very attractive. During my stay, I saw a wedding held on the lawn in front of Building No. 7. Building No. 7 was once the villa of Chiang Wei-kuo and his adoptive mother. There are traces of typical major events around the 1960s inside and outside the building. The lobby is in Building No. 5, with distinctive features such as small bridges, flowing water, big red chairs, and Guochao teahouses. The name of Wuzhong No. 1 is well-deserved. Mingxuan is a representative of Chinese classical gardens, the same as the Wangshi Garden and Metropolis. The breakfast is rich and the restaurant is very charming. The service is thoughtful. It feels extraordinary to visit the hotel. Director Zhu's explanation is vivid and informative. We arrived at the hotel at 10 o'clock, and an employee at the north gate took us to the lobby with an electric car. Xiao Yuan at the front desk gave gifts for checking in and upgrading the room type. The employees have high professional quality and strong service awareness. The hotel is conveniently located 100 meters from the East Gate Bus Station, 300 meters from the Master of the Nets Garden, and a 10-minute walk from Canglang Pavilion. It is a little far from Suzhou North Station, but is accessible by subway.

Suzhou Nanyuan Hotel is a state guesthouse with a long history. It is located in Shiquan Street in the old city. It is very close to major scenic spots such as Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove, Hanshan Temple and Oriental Gate. This trip to Suzhou, staying here with my family, was very wonderful. The hotel park is also a typical Suzhou garden. Guests can make an appoin**ent for free for the staff in the hotel to explain the past and present of this hotel. This is the former residence of Chiang Kai-shek's second son Chiang Wei-kuo and Lin Biao and his wife. Through the explanation, we also learned many historical stories. We were also fortunate to visit the civil air defense project at that time and saw the ancient hand-cranked ventilator of my major. Some ancient trees in the garden also have a history of thousands of years. There is a Su-style noodle restaurant opened by the hotel itself at the north gate of the hotel - Yan Yanglou. The price is affordable and the taste is very good. Friends can go and try the Suzhou dishes in the movie, which are light and full of freshness.
