I do not know how this hotel got anything above a 1 star. I booked a king size room on 6/1/22 for my 7/15/22 trip. I checked in the hotel at about 9:30 pm on the 15th only to find that King I had booked had been downsized to a double mildewed handicap. What I found was deplorable. The room smelled of wet/ mildew when we entered. The microwave was so dusty on top that I wrote my name on it to show how thick the dust was. There was some sort of crusty subsatance that was left on the glass shelf that the microwave sat on that had been left there by the previous guest or previous previous guest. There was a white substance on the couch that look like bodily secretions that they did not try to get out. It left a white stain. We went to check on the air because it appeared the room was not getting cold and my husband sock was literally soaked because the floor was soaked by the air condition ( that explains the mildewy smell). The shower had not been cleaned. It had long stringy brownish blond hair on the wall in 3 different places. We called downstairs to complain to the guy who was there ( the nicest in this whole establishment). He stated that we need to call the mgr Linda in the morning and that she would be more than happy to help us. Well Linda must have been only accomodating to him because she was horrible to us. My husband made a call from the room and gave her the details of why we were unhappy. The conversation went left when Linda put words in my husbands mouth stating that we wanted to check out. We never said anything about checking out.She even went on to tell us that she and her husband or boyfriend slept in a double bed ( what did that have to do with us?). She stated that my husband was raising his voice ( he wasn't. He was trying to get her to undersrand our issue while she overtalked him and disregared his complaint and request to comp the room for the night. The only solution she had was basically leave or they will send someone to clean the room. My husband and I decided to stay in the room in fear of being moved to a room worse than we had and we didn't allow them to clean the room because our valuables were there and it seemed like there was no protection of any kind if we had a problem. As Linda overtalked my husband...she hung up on him. We got dressed and went out for lunch. I did not speak with Linda when I passed her outside on a break smoking a vape. I didn't even know if that was her but assumed it was since she had on a front desk uniform. When I returned 2 hours later....I spoke with her about the incident stating the facts. Though she was much nicer face to face...I found out that she couldn't really do anything about my complaint. She apologized and I also addressed the issue of her hanging up on my husband..she said that she didnt but clearly she did. My husband did not speak at all during this conversation. We left and received a email address so that I could provide the pics and video I took to their GM.Meg

My first hotel visit, post-pandemic, The Indigo Inn, Tuscaloosa, offered a clean, beautifully decorated space to work and relax. The Overlook, the rooftop restaurant, is a lovely venue with a panoramic view of the river. The staff is hospitable and helpful, especially Maegan @ the front desk. Pack your walking shoes for a stroll along the nearby riverwalk.

The hotel was just built, so the facilities were clean and the room was in good condition. The staff at the reception desk were so friendly and the breakfast was good because I could eat breakfast with English muffins, juice coffee bagels, bread, yogurt, fruits, etc.

My family members and I booked a couple of rooms to stay over for the weekend as we were celebrating some birthdays. Saturday morning, we were immediately greeted by the beautiful and very kind front desk clerk, Nya P. She checked us in expeditiously and invited us to enjoy cofee/tea/hot cocoa at the drink stations set up as an amenity for quest convenience. Our rooms & accommodations were top notch...spacious, thoughtful amenities [fridge, microwave, K-cup coffee maker, ice machine, etc.], clean appearance, fresh smell, and even name-brand, Dove body products for bathing/skincare. Extra towels were available on a standing rack in the main hallway for guests to grab and go at leisure. The bedding was plush and comfortable. We experienced good sleep. In the mornings, breakfast was ready, hot and cold choices, served in a well-maintained dining/lounge area. We had no complaints, and we love the location, within walking distance to the University Mall and several eateries.
