The bus terminal, where the bus to Vientiane departs from, the night market and Central are all within a 5-minute walk, making it a great location. Since it faces a large street, there is a lot of traffic, so I think you can feel relatively safe even at night. The airport is a little far away, but the front desk will arrange a taxi for you.
