We checked out this morning after a four-night stay. We first stayed here 15 years ago. This B and B was and remains great. It is in an old manor home nicely refurbished as a B and B. It is in the Rockland neighborhood east of downtown by about 10 minutes by car. It is less than 5 minutes from the coastline on the south side of Victoria. It is very quiet and peaceful. You will notice many locals walking and walking their dogs in this hood. The rooms are clean and well furnished. We had the "Rose" room with a king bed, private bathroom a nice couch and comfortable chair. There is no lift but the stairs are very manageable for my wife and I, two seniors. We were greeted by the hostess who helped carry bags to our room. Over our stay she delivered ice to the room, offered tips on restaurants in and outside of Victoria and tips on what to do and see and what to avoid. Breakfast is simply great. It begins with fresh squeezed orange juice. Next course is mixed fresh fruit, granola and yogurt or milk. Yummm. The main course changes each day. Yesterday is was eggs benedict with tender fresh asparagus and potatoes. The day before was an Asian inspired bed of rice, a fried egg, fried meat, vegetables, mushrooms, with a hoisin sauce drizzle. It was fantastic. Baked sweets are offered in the afternoon and a bottle of port is always available in the guest social room. The staff will do anything they can for you. It is an easy drive from here to downtown, the coastline, many fine eateries and pubs and easy access to roads that will take you to Buchart gardens, museums, and day trips. Five stars from us, again.
