"As the cheapest non-dorm room available in central Adelaide, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel has history and character. The staff were very friendly and helpful; the food was good and the range of beer was great. The room was a bit basic, but hey, it’s a place to get your head down for the night. The washrooms are shared, but no hotel from that period will have en-suites. The water ran hot in the showers, just if you’re tall like me, be prepared to contort if you want to get under the stream of water to wash your hair!!"

The Hotel Windsor, Melbourne (Worst value for money) The Park Hyatt Melbourne stood out as having the best service among all 11 hotels. We arrived around 5:00 PM and were informed our room wasn't quite ready, requiring a 10-15 minute wait. Before I could even react, the front desk staff immediately offered complimentary breakfast for the next day as an apology, along with a voucher for two drinks at the lobby bar while we waited. Of course, we happily accepted! The hotel's location is a little outside the very center, situated behind Parliament House and right next to St. Patrick's Cathedral, which you can see from the rooms. Fitzroy Gardens, home to Cook's Cottage, is also within walking distance and worth a visit. I was very impressed with the hotel's amenities. The room even had a three-prong power outlet, a feature I didn't find in any other hotel. The 'old money' decor gave it a grounded and understated elegance. Breakfast was excellent and very extensive, with freshly made Western pastries that were incredibly delicious. I heard their flat white is even better than those from popular specialty coffee shops. The heated pool was long and narrow, feeling like it was definitely more than 25 meters. There's also a tennis court available for A$50 an hour, though you need to bring your own racket."

"The room was clean and hygienic. I stayed one night and immediately extended my stay for two more nights. It was a very good choice. The suite has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, making it suitable for family trips. The living room is large and there is also a small terrace where you can occasionally cook."

"Great hotel, pool wasn’t that warm when me and my partner stayed so it wasn’t that enjoyable. It was also quite small more of a lap pool than anything. Our fan above the shower was quite dusty they sent someone in the room to clean it when we left and they did. Claimed that the fans are cleaned weekly but I beg to differ. The room was quite small for the price as well our sink had to be closed almost the whole time because it stunk out the room so badly. Didn’t get that well or a view from our room either. Beds are comfy and feel good. Shower was great we didn’t have a bath in our room. Overall I wouldn’t spend that much for that room again cause it wasn’t that worth it"

"Three lights were out (one flickering, two completely off), making the room quite dim. The window film had many reflective holes, and the room felt a bit different from what was advertised. The staff initially gave us the wrong room key, but they came to fix it within half an hour, and their service attitude was very good. However, the hotel really needs to improve its equipment maintenance. Vicotr Harbour itself is beautiful though."
