As my friends and I were travelling by train from different areas of the UK the hotel was an easy meeting place.. We all found our rooms very clean and,spacious..The staff
were extremely pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was superb with plenty of choice. Nothing was rushed and all in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
The hotel that I was looking forward to before I checked in. I know this hotel because there is an introduction in LP UK. It is said that Jane Austen has lived here. The hotel staff was very polite. I think the hotel helped us upgrade the room we booked. When we opened the door, the radio in the room was playing classical music and the atmosphere was very comfortable. The decoration and layout of the entire hotel are very particular, with a sense of age, but it is also very clean. We spent a very pleasant two days here and added wonderful memories to the trip.
The hotel's breakfast is required to order. Two days of blind spots have a different breakfast, but they are all salty. It is recommended to optimize it. Of course, if you don't order, the buffet area also has basic breakfasts such as bread and milk. The environment of the breakfast area is also very good.
If you plan to go to Chatsworth House, it is a very good choice to live here!
friendly and helpful, going out of their way to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel itself is well-maintained and clean, with modern amenities and comfortable rooms. The location is also excellent, being conveniently located near attractions and restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great value and an enjoyable stay in [Location].
Check-in is available at 3pm. The room and bathroom are large, but the windows are smaller than the room. The windows of other rooms in the building opposite have no view. The windows are locked and cannot be opened. I contacted the front desk and said that all the windows in the hotel cannot be opened, but because there are ventilation facilities, There was no feeling of depression during my stay. The bed was comfortable and clean. WiFi is slow. The location is close to the city center and a 30-minute walk to the train station. The service attitude of the hotel was poor. I paid in advance to stay for 3 nights. Due to an emergency at home, I only stayed for two nights. After many negotiations with the hotel, the hotel would not refund the remaining 1 night's prepaid room fee.
Myself and my friend were drawn to the Palace Hotel for its competitive price and location - both of which could not be faulted. Very inexpensive and centrally located in Buxton next to the train station and local shops all within a five minute walk easily.
However, without a doubt, you get what you pay for. Whilst the room looked perfectly clean and functional on arrival, both my friend and I awoke after the first night with sore backs. The beds are cheap and unsupportive. The shower is basic and paltry in its water flow. For a one night stay, it’s fine, but don’t expect luxury.
The biggest warning we need to issue pertains to the gym. Unless you are a local Buxton male, you won’t feel comfortable here - I couldn’t use one room as there was loud rowdy discussion between men ongoing in a very confined space which made me feel totally unwelcome. I retreated to a different room, also very small and very unclean, with dirt and dust and flakes surrounding the windows and ripped mats on the floor. See photos attached. My friend used the pool which he also described as dirty and he had to take all of his belongings with him into the sauna as the lockers had no locks or keys, rendering them obsolete. The fact that people pay a monthly membership fee to attend this gym is genuinely astounding.
Overall, cheap, mildly cheerful, suitable for a night or two basic stay but do not expect luxury from this hotel.
We stayed for 1 night for a special occasion. On arrival we were told that the spa was closed for an event which was very disappointing as I booked this hotel because of the spa & had planned to use the pool & sauna. This should gave been communicated at the time of booking. The building and grounds were impressive but on arrival our featured superior room was freezing cold. The reception turned on the heating at our request but this should have been done hours before our arrival given that it was 8 degrees outside. We sat for an hour in the room with our coats on before asking for a portable heater due to the radiators being only lukewarm. The room never really got warm & when we came back from dinner at 9.15 the heating had been turned off again & we had to ask for it to be turned on again. The food in the restaurant was very good & the servers were lovely but unorganised. We planned to have a drink in the hotel bar but it was so cold that it was empty and not comfortable to stay. I heard kore than one staff member complain about the cold in the hotel. What could have been a very pleasant stay was spoiled by the cold. Unfortunately, we will not return.
The Hotel is set in a very picturesque location in the Derbyshire Peak District. The room was very clean and comfortable, but basic. The only negative point I would like to mention was that there was no hot water for the duration of my stay, but I would not hold this against the hotel, as it was an unforeseen issue. I would recommend this place for a short stay relaxing break. The local area has some extremely friendly pubs and restaurants, along with some beautiful walks.

GGuest UserLovely location, (pretty village) lovely grounds and impressive entrance. However, we weren’t in the main hotel. The room was large but old fashioned. The roof sloped at the sides which we banged our heads on several times. The window was small which made it stuffy and it was very dark, no main light in the bedroom only lamps. Bed was king size and comfortable. The room and bathroom was clean. We used the restaurant once for dinner and we had 2 breakfasts and the food was nice and reasonable priced. Breakfast was self service (as ours was included) with a good and plentiful variety. The staff were friendly and helpful but professional. We didn’t use the pool in the end as it meant going outside and back inside, as our room was not connected to a covered route to the pool.
Nothing really to complain about but we did expect the room to be a bit more luxurious. Slightly overpriced for the room. I expect the price was based on the available amenities.
LLouiseRxExcellent stay all members of staff were very attentive and friendly.
Room was lovely with lots of extra touches Molton Brown, Cadbury hot chocolate, Twonning tea with a teapot and daily paper. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud very luxury.
Food was delicious and a lovely range of cocktails and Jeremy Clarkson beers and ciders
Beautiful gardens.
We will definitely return. Thank you for a pleasant, relaxing stay.
SSteveThe check in was easy and clear instructions were provided about the facilities. Clean room with comfortable bed. Unfortunately there was no WiFi in the room that I stayed in and no mobile phone coverage on Vodafone for calls or mobile data. WiFi was available in the main building which had a bar and restaurant. The price of the room was very good.
GGuest UserEnvironment: The hotel is very new, the room area must be swiped, and the security is high. Not far from the train station, very close to the most distinctive spiral spire church in Cheffi
Service: The front desk is on the second floor. We turned around on the first floor. We only knew that we had to take the elevator upstairs.
Facilities: very new, comfortable design style, socket at the bedside. Unfortunately, there is no twin room, friends are a little inconvenient to travel, there is a window but can not open
GGuest UserThe casa is a very nice hotel to stay in. Check in quick and efficient and courteous staff as always. Plenty of parking spaces on site.
Room has air conditioning and a good bath room with power shower. Tea and coffee available with a mini fridge for milk and water included.
We had booked breakfast but completely forgot breakfast finished at 9am on a monday.
I'm hoping that maybe next time we may be able to use this feature. Though to be fair we should have ordered to the room the night before for a small £5.
A enjoyable stay nothing more to add.
GGuest UserGreat location and room came with more than enough facilities for our stay. We were really impressed with the shower and homemade food. Thank you for making our birthday visit special
