Was really impressed with the palace hotel. The grounds look stunning as we arrived. The hotels grand entrance was beautiful and the lady on reception was very welcoming. The decor throughout was amazing. The rooms were lovely and clean with everything you could need, coffee, tea, iron, hairdryer etc. Lovely staff couldn't do enough for us. Thanks for a lovely stay.
The sanitation inside the hotel is very clean and tidy
The heating, hot water and water in the room are sufficient
There is a walking path near the hotel to go up the mountain to watch the sunrise 👍🏻
This is a hotel with traditional British architecture. It is located in the center of the town and is very convenient for visiting the town. We stayed on the third floor and had to walk up the stairs, but we could ask them to help carry the luggage up. The room was small but nostalgic. If you expect it to be like a big hotel, you might be disappointed, but this is a place the British love. The breakfast is good. Overall, I am quite satisfied with this choice!
We used to live this hotel since December 2023. This time during our stay the bathroom curtain was very stingy and it’s bad smell spread all over the room.
The staff and other facilities are always good. If they take little more care of cleanliness then it would be commendable.
Lovely location, (pretty village) lovely grounds and impressive entrance. However, we weren’t in the main hotel. The room was large but old fashioned. The roof sloped at the sides which we banged our heads on several times. The window was small which made it stuffy and it was very dark, no main light in the bedroom only lamps. Bed was king size and comfortable. The room and bathroom was clean. We used the restaurant once for dinner and we had 2 breakfasts and the food was nice and reasonable priced. Breakfast was self service (as ours was included) with a good and plentiful variety. The staff were friendly and helpful but professional. We didn’t use the pool in the end as it meant going outside and back inside, as our room was not connected to a covered route to the pool.
Nothing really to complain about but we did expect the room to be a bit more luxurious. Slightly overpriced for the room. I expect the price was based on the available amenities.
Stayed in this hotel as we are visiting the Chatsworth House the next day. Unfortunately we had a penalty charge for stopping our car at the front of the hotel for only 2 mins to off load luggage. It would be better if the hotel mention this before we check in.
Great little hotel right next to the rear exit of the train station, Fiver to park as a guest, pay at reception. Nice european feel style breaky with cheese and ham available as well as the usual continetal buffet. Similar room style to other purple chain. Comfy beds, modern style.
Stayed here 2 years ago and absolutely loved it. Decided to stop over again this weekend and, again, just can't fault it. Great food, friendly staff, comfortable clean rooms. We use it as a place to go off and explore the wider area but always see people who are obviously there for special occasions or business.
Whatever your trip is for I cannot recommend highly enough.

GGuest UserAn excellent short stay in this B&B situated above a tea room in the village of Bonsall.
Check-in is a small window of 2 hours between 2 and 4 pm but it does state that you can organise late check-in if you are stuck. Best to avoid the area around the Heights of Abraham when traveling in at the weekend as it gets very busy.
We were there just to check out the area for walking and it suited our needs perfectly. The owner greeted us and made sure we settled in and as a bonus, the tea room was still open to allow us to sample their delicious cakes before unpacking. We went to the Kings Head pub for dinner which is a 3-minute walk up the hill and I must say it was a good choice. Another place with great hospitality with a mix of locals and visitors but more importantly good honest grub.
Breakfast was probably one of the best we have ever had at a B&B it was plentiful and there was no compromise on quality, perfect to fuel us for another day on the hills.
Thank you for hosting us and giving us good value for money in an excellent location to explore the Peak District National Park.

GGuest UserAwesome 1 night stay over, used the gym facilities in this occasion and were of an excellent standard all round. As always, cannot praise the staff enough and the beautiful room once again! 10 out of 10 ☺️
GGuest UserThis was a trip for my birthday which was Sunday 26th January we had some requests before we arrived and they forfilled this for us.
We had an early check in on Friday which was plan sailing.
Breakfast on my birthday wasn't the best due to not really having anything left and having to ask for things like bread for toast and milk for cereal. We had to ask for juice plates and also knifes and forks.
Overall the pool was good ( cold) but wasn't overly busy which i like due to suffering with anxiety issues.
GGuest UserThe hotel itself was very nice. The room was large and comfortable (maybe too warm at times). The room facilities and freebies and bathroom was very nice and felt quite luxury. The hotel is in a natural and beautiful area where you can go hiking around it on trail, and there is a pub next door. The breakfast was lovely with varied choice. The restaurant for dinner was expensive but served great food. Parking wasnt much of an issue which made things easier. All in all a great experience, and the value for money was brilliant. My only downside was that its difficult to travel anywhere without a car from the hotel. No complaints otherwise.

GGuest UserThe place was nice and simple. Very good location near the station and not far from the city centre. Good value for money if you are looking for somewhere to stay for a few nights. Staff were pleasant.
GGuest UserBreakfast is not really included as such. Only the continental buffet. This is cereal, fruits, cereal bars, baked items and a large selection of cakes, including mince pies, which was odd for breakfast. The hot breakfast requires a surcharge to be paid, something I’ve never experienced before. The full English would be best described as part English breakfast, with no sausages, tomatoes, or mushrooms included which is a bit of an insult when you’re paying a surcharge. I can’t fault the service, or anything else, but this felt a bit naughty to be doing.
