"I had the pleasure of staying at hotel maurya on new year’s eve, and i must say, the experience was outstanding. The hotel has clearly made some great improvements in both its services and management. This time, my stay was far better than before. I was on the map plan, and the dinner was absolutely amazing. The bhuna mutton, paired with rice and dal, was delicious, and the jaggery lauki kheer was a perfect finish. The hospitality was exceptional, with the staff ensuring that i had everything i needed. They truly went above and beyond in taking care of me, from my food to my overall comfort. I’d like to give a special mention to a few staff members who stood out: mr. Tiwari from housekeeping
mr. Javed in the restaurant
mr. Tauseef and mr. Srivastava, the dining managers
chef mr. Jha, who prepared some amazing food
at the front desk, ms. Swati singh and mr. Pankaj (if i recall correctly)
even the breakfast the next morning was fantastic. My short visit to patna was made truly memorable by the wonderful staff at hotel maurya, and i look forward to staying here again the next time i’m in the city."

"This hotel can be given excellent rating only for their restaurant! The hotel itself is very worn, the room fund is old, but there is everything to bring yourself in order, sleep and eat. Towels change every day, with water no problems, the room is quite comfortable. And, most importantly, the restaurant of international cuisine, where for adequate money you can eat almost European food. Before that place we were in India (Delhi, Varanasi), we never ate normally, and here - dishes similar to the European kitchen, say ”no acute” - will not make acute. Specially returned from walking around Bodh Gai here, to the hotel to lunch, And necessarily dinner, one portion for two is quite enough. In general, this hotel is a bright example of how to ”be” rather than ”look,” - people will normally treat the old ”initiation” if you have a normal service. I never write such a phrase, but this time I will write - if we come to Bodh-Gay again - we will stop here."

"It's about a 15-minute walk to the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya, and other temples are also nearby, so while they're not close to the hotel, it's possible to walk to them. However, the distance is a bit significant, so I think it's best to walk to the other temples. There are plenty of auto-rickshaw drivers around, and they were able to take me to the airport, train station, and even provided a day driver.
The room itself was clean, although the ventilation was a bit poor and it felt a little damp. Despite that, it was a very clean room. You can get bottled water without a label by asking at the front desk. If you're concerned, it's essential to buy water near the tourist attractions beforehand. There are no restaurants around the hotel."

GGuest UserAll and all we were not impressed. A Fawlty Towers gone to seed, or perhaps to sleep in the off season.
Positives: a good city view in our second room, and the room was a good size. Hallways and stairs were mopped every day. Staff was friendly. A nearby cafe frequented by visiting monks provided good meals at a moderate price.
Negatives:
Wifi did not work in our first assigned room/ floor, had to ask for toilet paper snd soap in both rooms, the sheets in first room had holes and were stained but we were then moved to another room/ floor for working wifi. Floor hadnt been cleaned in the second room and doubtful sheets had been changed. We also had no hot water the first day though manager assured us it would be fixed- it wasnt until next day when we complained again (complaining meant walking down to reception as the phones were not connected!) We requested the room be cleaned but it wasn't- the mgr forgetting we had asked … This was the ongoing pattern. Oh- the hotel restaurant was not operating, but given the overall slapdash standard of almost everything else, this was probably just ss well!

GGuest UserPros: Once we checked in and assigned our room- third one we were shown, staff were friendly and helpful. Food was decent and good value. Location was good.
Cons: Mgr at reception first checked us in and then stated Agoda had no record of us! We had booked with Trip.com which he insisted was linked to Agoda. Suggested we cancel the booking and pay him! Eventually after speaking to his supervisor/ Agoda, things were assorted, but no apologies given.
We had booked a large room with city view. The first room we were shown had no outside window. The 2 nd a tiny 2 ft opening high up, small room. Third room better, a bit bigger and more pleasant.
We had to ask for toilet paper and a 2 nd towel. (These were supplied for the 2 nd night and our room cleaned.)
No hot water in the morning for shower, two people came to ‚fix‘ and eventually managed to run hot water in the sink , to fill bucket to pour water on ourselves.
The mattress had no cushioning whatever, and we slept poorly.
Definitely not a 3 star hotel. The outside of the hotel promises more than the inside delivers!
