San Jose de Puembo Quito Airport, An Ascend Hotel Collection

Very helpful and friendly staff and many spoke English. Our room was in the ”modern wing” which had posted signs in the hallways asking that you keep quiet. Filtered water was available from 5-gallon jugs at multiple locations in the hallways. The room itself was very comfortable. The bathroom area had two sinks, plenty of counterspace, and separate ”rooms” for toilet and shower. Room also had a safe. No A/C but windows did open -- and there was an overhead fan. You are able to close the window when sleeping and able to block much of the noise from overhead planes. Had two sets of blinds to block out any light. The grounds were well manicured and attracted various birds, to include the gorgeous Vermillion Flycatcher (see photo). At least three Llamas roam the grounds and the friendly house-cat, Sylvestre, stopped by to say hello several times (we sought him out the 2nd night). The restaurant had a large dinner menu and offered a nice selection of local dishes that were freshly prepared. We ate two breakfasts - buffet style; fresh fruit, cereal, breads, cold meats and cheese plus hot items (scrambled eggs offered each day). At one end of the parking lot there is access to a nice trail and the neighboring farm - we walked around this area and felt safe at all times. While we had our own airport-transfer organized, the hotel does state that they offer this service. It's about a 20-25 minute drive to the airport. For bird-watchers, there is an eBird location called ”Hosteria San Jose de Puembo.”

The room for three days was 8-10 on the 8th and said that I went early and paid an extra day for the room. I paid 4 days of money and actually stayed for two days. The other two days did not refund the money.

Boutique Hotel Antinea

I would absolutely recommend this lovely boutique hotel. In an attractive, safe, quiet street, but just a steps away from shops and restaurants. The hotel and rooms are full of character, interesting and beautifully decorated. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are individually furnished and very clean. We booked a basic double room, which far surpassed our expectations and had a lovely little balcony. The hotel is beautifully furnished, with little sitting rooms where you can relax, as well as a pretty courtyard. Good wifi and a very helpful, professional young lady in charge, who spoke fluent English and communicated with us, prior to our arrival and soon after booking. Nice breakfast of eggs, fruit, croissants, juice and coffee, served in an attractive breakfast room. Parking was in their garage, completely secure. Loved this hotel so much, that we stopped there twice more during our travels in Ecuador.
Hostal Posada del Maple

We really enjoyed our stay at Posada del Maple. The room was clean and comfortable and our shower was perfectly hot. It even had a private patio surrounded by flowers from the Redvein flowering maple after which the hostel is named. We had breakfast one morning and it was delicious. We were also able to store our bags while we went out to explore Quito. The location was great. Quiet street with restaurants nearby in Plaza Foch. A bank and a nearby pharmacy came in handy. Our host was very, very kind. My husband became ill the day we were supposed to catch a night bus to Lago Agrio. She got him comfortable on the couch and made him tea (this was all after we’d checked out). When we decided we could not travel she set us up for another night and even checked in on him in the morning. All in all, a great place to stay that I can’t recommend more.

Hotel Vieja Cuba

Very quaint and clean hotel in Quito. Room 24 is up 3 floors kind of outside to get in. the room is kind of small with 2 twin beds and a small bathroom. Be prepared to climb stairs wow what a workout with luagge. No elevators in building. This place has all these cool places to sit around here. The place is gated. This place provides a hair dryer in the room as well as Shampoo and body wash. the place also has a safe built in room. Breakfest was so yummy cornflakes, oats, yogurt, scrambmed eggs with ham, toast, fresh juice. I would stay here again.. Silvia really does an amazing job running this place.
Old Town Quito Suites, Heritage Boutique Hotel, Where Every Detail Tells a Story

The room was also said in the past, but the level of facilities was too low. Especially the quality of the bed and the bedding were old and uncomfortable, which was very important for travelers. The overall style is distinctive, but for underdeveloped areas and countries, this personalized residential house still needs to remind travelers to consider carefully. Moreover, in terms of cost performance, it is not very cost-effective. Several service lads are very good and very intimate. Must give them a thumbs up?
