Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at The Chateau. The service was excellent, all staff were hardworking, attentive, and very accommodating, which really made a difference to our experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely maintained. One small personal note is that the pillows were quite large and didn’t suit me very well; I wish I had asked earlier if they could be changed. The hotel restaurant served good-tasting food, though it would be even better with more variety, especially for dinner options during a longer stay.
The location is truly superb, perfect for a short getaway near the Klang Valley without needing to travel far. The environment was cool, cloudy, and beautiful, with a relaxing atmosphere that almost felt like being in the UK. Overall, a great choice for a comfortable and relaxing short vacation.
The hotel is right by the sea, so you can watch the sunrise from your bed. In the evening, when the tide is out, you can collect clams. The front desk service is excellent, and there's a swimming pool directly facing the ocean. Parking is free. The room is large, clean, and comfortable, and you can hear the sound of the waves while you sleep. The only minor drawback is that the towels and sheets are a bit old, but everything else is great.
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel, enjoying the beautiful and comfortable environment, as well as the kids-friendly facilities and easy access to the beach. However, we did notice that the swimming pool area had some safety concerns. There were broken tiles and cracks around the swimming pool, which could pose a safety risk, especially for children. Additionally, we noticed some yellow stains on the bedsheets. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but attention to these maintenance issues would definitely improve the experience.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Hyatt Regency Kuantan, especially the ambience and hospitality. However, there are a few areas that require attention.
Cons / Areas for Improvement:
1. Water pressure was quite slow, especially for the shower. When turned to hot water, the pressure increased, but once switched to cold, it became extremely weak.
2. There was water maintenance work happening during our stay. Although the hotel assured that everything was under control, it did affect our comfort while on holiday.
3. We noticed a small clump of dust on the floor. While it was minor, as we were staying with a 2-year-old toddler, it raised concerns as children tend to put things into their mouth. Housekeeping may need to be more thorough.
4. There should be better control of wild monkeys, especially around the parking area. I was chased and nearly bitten, which was quite frightening and unsafe for guests.
Pros / What We Appreciate:
1. Excellent service recovery — I forgot to disable the “Do Not Disturb” sign but informed the front desk to clean the room. The housekeeping staff called first to ask for permission before entering, which shows professionalism and true 5-star service standards.
2. The hotel’s surroundings are beautiful, clean, and very calming — truly breathtaking.
3. The beach is very clean and conveniently located right next to the hotel.
4. Large swimming pools (two pools available), so it never felt crowded.
5. Staff were extremely friendly, polite, and always willing to help.
Conclusion:
Hyatt Regency Kuantan has great potential with its beautiful location, facilities, and outstanding staff. With improvements in water system management, housekeeping checks, and wildlife control, the overall guest experience would be even better.
The hotel has a modern feel despite its age, with swift check-in. My room was impeccably clean, and the bathroom provided hot water with excellent pressure. I particularly appreciated the comfortable pillows, available in both thin and thick options. It's a bustling hub in Kuantan, offering free parking and a shopping center nearby.

The room condition was good, and all facilities were nearby. It's customer-friendly and great for families. There are also many activities available. Excellent, will definitely repeat!
it was a wonderful stay. the counter staff were friendly and helped check in fast. we booked two king rooms. the rooms were large and even had a kitchen counter and sink fitted inside. very convenient. beds and pillows super comfy. bathrooms also clean.
outside of the room there was some bad smell, not too strong. inside was perfect though.
the hotel has a super nice swimming area, pools for adults and kids. Gym room also great. there’s a playroom too for kids but they close at 9pm so didn’t manage to do that.
location is probably is most challenging, a need to drive 13-15 min to Skyworld theme park and the sky avenue mall. drive is not too bad, just try to avoid night time driving if ure not familiar with the road. that said, we stayed at 48th storey of the 50 storey hotel. it’s the tallest point in Genting so far.
there r stuff to do at the rooftop if u dont mind paying.
food wise, we had majestic pizza for dinner at level 11 or 12, food is delicious but they lack of manpower, so be prepared to wait about an hour.
we stayed at grand ion delemen past two years which is just next door. but wyndham ion majestic wins hands down in every aspect.
photos are views from our room balcony.
Easy and clear instructions for check ins and check outs. Easy access to the beach. Pool was amazing. Accomodation was surprisingly sparkly clean with wifi, nextflix, iron and hair dryer. Plus point for a free breakfast for 1 pax.

Very Good
SSyikin AhmadLocation is good, within walking distance to restaurants and convenient shops. Use the connection bridge at L5.
Very near to GPO and cable car station, about 5 mins drive.
Parking is allocated for 1 car.
The apartment was clean, with basic amenities like 2 door fridge, washing machine, microwave, basic cutleries, bowls and plates. No pots and pans although there is cooking stovetop.
Towels are provided but get prepared to wait longer if u plan during weekends or public holidays. I have to wait for almost 3 hours before I can eventually receive the towels at my rented unit. The aircond is only inside 1 room. No AC at the main hall, only ceiling fans. The hall was converted to a sleeping area with 1 queen+1 single. Soap and shampoo are provided, and the shower comes with a water heater.
Overall I'm ok with our 2 nights stay. The only thing that needs improvement is the check in, it took me almost 1.5 hours due to long queues before i can finally make it to the check in counter. I understand it's due to the weekend/public holiday, but at least the management should prepare some chairs outside knowing that people have to stand long in the queue, and some welcoming drinks would be even better.
Ssaree3Amma make this one short,
The place is nice, staff were amazing, food could be alot better i mean depedns its almost all Asian.
For all coming to visit, this place is more like a romantic trip than a family vacay.
The beach is very bad TBH its all rocky, no beach front that you can actually lay on and enjoy the dash o'water
The closest lets say snorkelling requires a package purchase or if you know a sea taxi, as relying on this beach's marine life its sad, dead coral everywhere.
AANGGUN TRISYAthe hotel is easy to go everywhere, super clean, the staff is helpful & im daughter so happy to stay here. this is our 2nd time stay here & definitely will come back again🩵
GGuest UserStayed at Copthorne Cameron Highlands and had a pleasant experience overall.
The location is excellent — situated in Kea Farm and only about a 4-minute walk to the Kea Farm Market. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and attractions such as Zoo Mania & Butterfly Farm and Sheep Sanctuary are within walking distance.
The room for three people was spacious, comfortable, and suitable for a family stay.
Breakfast was decent — the buffet selection was reasonable, and the set breakfast option was good as well.
Overall, it was an enjoyable stay and I would consider returning if visiting Cameron Highlands again.
GGuest UserInteresting hotel with a large pool and comfortable kids' pool. The children loved it. My only suggestion is that the rooms could use better soundproofing. Otherwise, everything was good.
Cchipdale2 bedroom Suite, 3 nights.
We check in late evening, fast and smooth but not fully briefed of the facilities and services.
The Apartment lift panel dont have all the floor button. It easy to mislead the guest thinking taking the wrong lift. There is no house keeping. It provided bath towel but not face and hand towel. Toilet paper also insufficient.
I booked 2 bedroom suite which come with kitchen utensils but without boiling kettle. There are coffee and tea bag but without kettle , my family have to use the pot to boil water to make coffee.
AAnonymous UserI recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and had mixed experiences. On the plus side, the hotel's mountain-top location is unbeatable, with breathtaking views and a 15-20 minute drive to the theme park and ******. The staff were friendly and helpful, making check-in and check-out a breeze.
However, I had some significant concerns with the hotel's facilities, which felt outdated and in need of maintenance. There is a swimming pool with warm water, but no hot water shower at changing room after you swim. It's not possible to shower there before you back to your hotel room. Cleanliness could also be improved too. The biggest headache was the parking - while it's free for hotel guests, the process of validating and exiting the car park was convoluted and stressful, especially during peak hours. I.e. every time you exit the car park, you need to validate your touch n go card at hotel lobby (tower 2) while car park is at tower 7. You have to take lift to level 3 to walk across skybridge and take lift again to collect your car. Don't forget you only have 20 min to exit the car park after validation. And the parking lots themselves were also cramped and challenging to navigate.
The hotel's layout, with multiple towers and levels, was confusing even for me, and I found myself getting lost daily. I e. Check in at tower 2, you may stay at tower 3, car park is at tower 7, and breakfast is at another tower. If you're comfortable with this, you might enjoy your stay, but I'd recommend exploring other options in Genting Highlands.
书书豪This accommodation feels a bit older compared to when I stayed a few years ago, but the price has also significantly decreased, making it a reasonable and fairly good value for money option given its current rate and overall facilities.
I stayed on the 29th floor this time, primarily to experience being surrounded by mist, which was indeed a unique and rather special highlight of this place. However, the dining options around or within the hotel are quite limited.
The only thing that really impacted my experience was a connecting door to the adjacent room, which had poor soundproofing. Around 1 AM, I could clearly hear a man and two women talking in the next room, which disturbed my sleep. If you prioritize quietness, I'd recommend confirming the room type with the hotel beforehand.
ZZamri BaharudinThe best hotel in Cherating. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was decent. The beach was clean, and the hotel's surroundings were also pleasant.
