This probably would have been a great place to stay. The issue I had was with Trip/Expedia. As i was looking for a place to stay for a Dr. appointment, somehow on this particular site the date ended up being incorrect and I didn't notice as it had been correct on all the other motels I had looked at but...
I knew I had to be there so signed up for a non-refundable night. Didn't catch the incorrect date until after I had approved it. I looked through contact options and they had one listed that said incorrect date, ok should be no problem, I will just change the date and still stay there. The site said they had to contact the merchant, ok I can see that, I knew the night I NEEDED to stay was more expensive but was ok with that. Got a message saying the merchant wasn't going to allow me to change as it was a non-refundable night, I wasn't trying to not stay there just change the date. I happened to be in the town so I stopped at the motel and talked with the manager and was told that they couldn't change it without the approval of Trip/Expedia hmm guess they must be the ”merchant” rather than the hotel. So I ”donated” the cost of a room to some corporation. So Trip/Expedia for what it's worth I will not be using you again for any travel.

Guest UserOverall, a good experience but with caveats.
Staff were professional and super helpful.
The room: Very clean, very tidy and smelled fresh. Beds were comfy and maintained pretty well. The room was great and not shabby at all. Coffee maker was good once you know how to find the switch and use it. The bathroom was well stocked with the needed soaps/tissues etc.
Ok, that’s the good stuff… now the not so
The bathroom sink didn’t drain properly at all. As you brush teeth and the seeds from the strawberries you just ate, fall out from between your teeth, then land in the sink, they have a mind of their own and just when you thought they’d rinsed away, they re emerge as you wash your hands. Yes, up from the grave (sink drain) they arise! Ugh. Kinda gross - but not the end of the world.
The next thing, breakfast: I arrived at 8am and there were tow hot items. 1. Possibly the worst sausage patties I’ve ever tried to eat. 2. Scrambled eggs - which I found to be empty and only found the promise of fresh ones to be fleeting… I waited a bit (5mins maybe) and lost interest. So my take on breakfast is it’s about as good as a poor gas station.
All this said, I’d go stay again as it was so clean and the staff were so nice. 👍👍🙂

This price is completely beyond our expectations, especially in a hotel adjacent to a few hundred meters, hit by a bad environment, changed to here immediately feel comfortable, clean and tidy, service enthusiasm, mainly security is great. Thanks also to the customer service staff of Trip.com for their online help.

HeatwolvesThis is a good hotel and the service was by far the best of any hotel on our recent family road trip. The woman at check-in really went out of her way to make us and our dog feel welcome and was just a pleasure to talk with. This is a very busy hotell and it's giving conference vibes (the lobby was super loud), which is not my first pick normally but I'm glad we stayed here. The food from room service was excellent- we ordered it twice. Gym was decent but dated, the pool is small but works for a quick swim and the skylight is nice.
The place is dog-friendly in a major way. Dogs get a tag (like a festival bracelet) so it's clear they're a ”guest”, and also receive a baggy of dog treats upon entry. The Starbucks around the corner is also dog friendly and they give pup cups for free.
Area wise, there's a few commercial bars and restaurants nearby but it felt like a few blocks away from more hip areas. I think the walk would be pretty safe.
Good stay overall, and special shout out to the service!

This is one of 2 places we stay for our annual Christmas shopping trip so we’ve stayed several times in the past because of the value. The furniture in our room was beaten up and needs replaced, the water pressure in the shower was bad and water wasn’t hot enough for me, but we managed. All in all, this is a good place to stay if you’re not picky about decor as it was clean, just needs some updating. We’ll most likely stay here again since it’s suite type rooms giving extra space to wrap the gifts I buy and the price is decent.

Guest UserThe New Victorian Inn worked well for our brief stay of just 2 nights. The room was large, the bed was comfortable, and the location is easy to find and close to lots of restaurants. The sink area was tiny but adequate, the bathroom is very compact as well but clean and stocked with plenty of towels. The complimentary soap and shampoo is by Dove (good choice!) The one weird oddity of the room was a metal panel around the base of the bed that made a huge ”gong” every time I ran into it. The breakfast buffet was served from 5-10 and includes eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, pancakes and waffles. There was also 4 kinds of cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, and a decent coffee. My husband did not like the scrambled eggs, but he is very picky.

Check-in clerk was friendly until I declined the $3 added to my bill for a tip for staff; then after that she acted like she didn't want to talk to me. Sorry, but I've never before had to decline a tip presumptively added to my hotel bill. Seems like a scam by the hotel to put me in the awkward position of declining a tip for staff who are looking me in the face when I do it, and I resent that, so I don't feed into it. Just pay your staff what they deserve to take the job and don't put me in that position.
So I was put in a room right next to the lobby which was maybe my punishment for declining to add the tip, and was very noisy.
The room had a pungent musty odor but otherwise seemed clean.

Guest UserThe location is ok, just on the route of the free shuttle bus on the day of the conference in May. On the first weekend of May, hotel prices across the city almost doubled. Room size: 2 people are enough, one person is enough. Overall not bad.
