Not really satisfied, service could be better.
Reached at 4pm (indoesia time) to check in, was asked to wait as the room is not ready. Waited for 10mins which is okay.
Card only given 1 - not convenient when we arranged inhouse massage as one of us need to stay in the room with the massuer while my husband went down to pick up another masseur and the room went off pitch black.
Breakfast - eggs ran out by 9am, and was told that there will be no more eggs
Checkout day, called reception around 10am - request for additional mineral bottle for drinking but was told that we are checking out today and we would need to purchase the bottle.
Checkout - was running 5 minutes late, reception already called asking to check out now.
Bed and pillows are okay and comfortable to sleep. There’s international plug so you can use if you’re using 3 pin plug.
Location is perfect, just across the Tunjungan Plaza but nothing nice to shop. Just boring.
Service could be better, but definitely not returning for us.
The location is very convenient. The receptionist Apreriya is friendly and helpful. The room was comfy and clean, but there weren’t slippers and hair dryer. I had a nice rest there before moving to my next destination. That’s pity that the swimming pool is closed due to renovation until 25th August.
This is my second stay at Batiqa. I’d like to share a balanced review for fellow travelers.
Pros:
Great City View: Staying in Room 809 was a treat because of the city view. It’s a much better experience compared to Room 910, which unfortunately only faces the wall of another building. If you prefer a view, try to request a room on the side that faces the city.
Cons:
Technical Maintenance: I noticed some issues in Room 809 that weren't present in 910. The shower door doesn't close properly, the water pressure is quite weak, and the hot water isn't hot enough (I had to turn the lever fully to the left just to get a decent temperature).
Privacy Disturbance: A bit disappointed with the unsolicited promotional calls. Both during my first and second stays, the hotel staff called the room around 18:00 WIB to offer massage or restaurant services. This is quite intrusive when you're trying to rest after a long day.
Verdict:
The hotel is decent, but they really need to improve their room maintenance and stop the promotional calls to ensure guest privacy. If you stay here, Room 809 has the view, but check the bathroom fixtures immediately.
Hotel is located within walking distance to food options and Tunjungan Plaza mall. Room is huge with a bathtub in the room. Room is clean. But the soundproofing is bad.
We had to change room because the room next door made a lot of noises during the night. We literally can hear their voices speaking and music turned on loud next door.

Overall OK, good location, easy access & so many cafe nearby. Even the breakfast also so good like so many local foods that can try. Just one thing no iron inside the room & asking to send iron to room they just take note but not send the iron .
📍Location
(+) Located in the city center, convenient access to many tourist spots in Surabaya. There's Indomaret next to the hotel, which makes it convenient too. Wisata Rasa, a recommend place to buy edible souvenirs (like almond crispy), is also nearby.
(-) I expected very walkable distance to Tunjungan Romansa, but it is apparently further away than expected. Still walkable but will take quite some time, and only walkable at night. Walking in the day is not very feasible due to Surabaya hot weather.
🏠 Room Facilities
(+) TV, desk, 3 electrical outlets, wardrobe with hangers, storage cabinet, safety box, air dryer in the bathroom, and electric kettle are available. Water gallon for refills is available outside the room.
(-) The lights in the room are dim, which makes the room unsuitable for work. Toilet issue is of low quality. No fridge. Cuttlery are provided with charge.
🏨 Hotel Facilities
(+) Great breakfast with various options, including local delicacies like lontong balap. There are board games, mini pool table, and foosball. PCs are available in the lobby, not sure if it works though. Can store luggage in the receptionist after check out. Toilets are available in the lobby.
(-) The hotel only gives 1 access card per room, even if I book a room for 2 people. Was excited to see congklak game but apparently the seeds weren't enough.
👥 Service
(+) Friendly staffs. Could ask for extra towel. Could request for specific housekeeping cleaning time.
I booked and reserved for non-smoking room, but the receptionist gave me smoking room. The hotel didn't give a non-smoking room but offered me to pay upgrade room instead.
Staff was friendly and the location is central. But the bathroom was smaller than on the pictures, tv had problems and the AC always blown cold air even when it was on 30 degrees. Asked for room change twice, they don’t allowed it
This was our second time staying at this hotel, and once again it exceeded our expectations in the best possible way. We arrived shortly after 12pm, fully prepared to leave our bags and wander around until the standard 3pm check-in time. To our pleasant surprise, the team offered us an early check-in without hesitation — a gesture that felt like an unexpected upgrade to our entire day. It’s the little things that truly make a big difference.
We stayed in a Standard Deluxe room, and it was more than spacious enough for the both of us. Comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, it provided exactly the kind of restful environment we needed. It’s always a good sign when you enter the room and immediately feel like you can take a nap without questioning your life choices.
Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. The spread was impressive, offering a good mix of local dishes, international options, and even Japanese selections. From savoury bites to sweet treats, there was something for every mood and every appetite. If breakfast is the “make or break” of a hotel stay, then this hotel definitely understood the assignment.
I would also like to give a special mention to Rusli at the reception. His warm hospitality and professionalism helped set the tone for our stay right from the moment we stepped in. Another heartfelt shout-out goes to Igrima from the restaurant. Although she is still a trainee, her dedication, attentiveness, and genuine passion for service shone through clearly. She handled her duties with the confidence of someone who has worked in the industry for years — a true rising star in the team.
Overall, our stay was memorable, comfortable, and pleasantly seamless. With consistent service and thoughtful touches like these, I’m confident that our third stay is not just likely — it’s inevitable. We’ll definitely be back again!

Amazing
XXianguangのwoniuThe Westin Surabaya was our first stop in Indonesia, and overall, it was fantastic! 🤗 The only minor drawback was that the room felt a bit on the small and compact side. However, the breakfast spread was amazing, and the location was super convenient. Right downstairs there's a huge complex, which made everything very accessible and easy to get around.👍
Aaloysius alfaThe building in some areas, like the kids' playground, was dirty, small, messy, incomplete, and the toys were broken. Several other areas were also quite dirty. The service wasn't very friendly and was too strict. For breakfast, many hotels offer it for free for children under 12, or at least have a special child's rate. When I chatted with marketing, it seemed like there was a price for children, but on the day itself, the staff told me to pay the adult price.
MMichelle JoanI cant comment much on this hotel because i only go there to sleep at night and catch up morning flight the next morning. Breakfast is simple not many choices.
PPolka13This is actually a VERY COOL hotel. As someone who LOVE vintage things, I really appriciate this place. From their historical front building, their vintage styled room, all took me back to the 90s to early 2000. The NOSTALGIA 🥺. When I was little, my grandpa and grandma used to take me travel and stayed at hotels. So hotels like these have a special place in my heart.
Unfortunately, it looked like they really cut down the budget. Although they gave a very cheap price for their room (not more than IDR 250K including breakfast), on WEEKENDS?? But the towels were not white anymore and felt thin (not like other hotel towels), the sheets had tough spots, and no shower cap. But I loveddd the lemongrass soap and shampoo, and they were in dispensers so less plastic waste.
The breakfast was really sad. It was nice when I stayed here around a couple of years ago. But this time it was worse. Not too many options and looked empty. Really felt like they didn't put much effort. Well, what do you expect for that price? And I understand they might be in a very tight budget.
I noticed they added a ”Mini Zoo” signage. A staff warned me that there were not many animals yet. But I decided to go see it. Turned out it was located in the side of the parking road (but outdoor), there were fishes and a big avian animal (like chicken but different, I don't know what it was). And some parakeets in two separate cages, they were all dead 😭😭 I told a staff and they quickly removed the dead birds. Good idea but poor execution.
But anyways, location was top. Just a few meters across the street, there was a bus stop and you can hop on the Suroboyo Bus to go anywhere. And the hotel itself was in a main street of a hot destination (Old Town Surabaya), with historical buildings complex, also with the chinatown nearby.
I really hope they can survive this economy storm. I really love this hotel 🥺.

MMuzaharIt's an amazing hotel with excellent hospitality, almost all staff are helpfull and you can feel safe to stay here. The front desk is very helpfull as well and provide all the informaton needed.
The room is very clean and all functionaliry is working. The feel of stay is like at your home house.
Hotel facilities also very good condition and manageable.
It's a valuable stay.
DDan SumardaniThe hotel is quite good and relatively cheap. I just want to highlight some of the things that can be improved easy and quick. One of those is the double secured lock that is broken in the door. It make the stay a little bit unsecured.
It only have one lock, the chain lock is broken.
PpramayaniI don’t quite understand the hype surrounding this hotel. Apart from its scenic view and peaceful ambiance, there’s not much else to say about it. The breakfast was ordinary, and you’ll have to pay extra for a cappuccino, while black coffee is the only one that’s free. The TV is also quite small. I’m not planning to return here.
MMrEmzThe location is just off the main street running through Malang, makes the hotel less affected by traffic noise. One of the minor drawbacks of this hotel is the lobby drop off area and minimal availability of parking onsite.
The friendliness and helpful customer service can be felt as you step into the hotel, from the security to the receptionist and workers all radiating warm smiles. Our check in process was smooth, we were assisted to find an available room for early check-in before 1pm . The restaurant staff was also attentive and courteous.
The hotel felt relatively new, only a couple years old and in great shape. The bedroom had semi firm but comfortable mattrass, with abundant pillows. Delightfully we got a 55” LG Smart Tv, with the to-date streaming services available (Netflix, Disney, Prime, Vidio, Youtube) and also cable tv showing international channels (AXN, Japanese, Arabic, etc). The room felt very cosy for resting after a long day's work or travel. The bathroom, although only had showers and no bathtub, gave great water pressure and hot water. The only complaint from the hotel is perhaps due to the connecting door, we can hear the other room's door closing and opening loudly as well as some talking from the other room.
Hotel had an interesting gym for good workout, rooftop cafe/restaurant. Didnt try any of those facilities for this trip but hopefully for my next trip. This is my second stay at 101 and look forward to returning again. Also, right across the hotel is a Sara Bakery, which serves good cakes and bakery products, and has a full restaurant menu also.
GGuest UserThe room is very bright thus enough light when its needed for me to work during my business trip. The breakfast have decent amount of choices. Will definitely come back and stay here in the future trip
