Cons: There's no proper desk, so I had to work on the nightstand. The public co-working space was too crowded with 'escorts,' which felt a bit uncomfortable.
Pros: The restaurant features a fully transparent bay window, which is excellent for photos and views. The hotel's location is next to the Bosphorus Bridge, in a bustling commercial area.

The location is great. And the price was like a hostel.
I booked economy single room and for it's price it's really good. The room is also quite spacious. And the staff was really friendly
But there are also some cons:
It wasn't written in description that the bathroom is separate from the room in the hall (it's near the room and technically still private bathroom but it feels a bit uncomfortable anyway)
And also there's no terrace but the room has a second door and a window to inner yard (connected to laundry room and main reception) so it's also feels a bit uncomfortable as someone might see and enter the room through it. So you need to lock the second door and close the curtains.
However, generally for the price it was a great deal
Highly recommend, better than expected! The lobby is grand and stylish, and the location is excellent, within walking distance to Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar. The room facilities aren't modern, but they are well-maintained. The AC temperature control, shower water temperature, and pressure were all perfect. A special shout-out to Murat at the front desk for being polite and friendly; he managed to check us in without much delay (possibly due to it being the off-season). Every evening, the front desk would proactively call to ask if we needed any assistance or supplies, and when we requested more mineral water, housekeeping quickly delivered it. I also highly recommend including breakfast, otherwise, it's genuinely hard to find diverse breakfast options outside.

The room was clean and well-appointed. The staff were exceptionally courteous and proactively offered to help with our luggage. A supermarket is conveniently located directly across the street for stocking up on essentials. Complimentary instant coffee and black tea are provided daily in the room. The location is also quite convenient for exploring various attractions.

A charming little hotel tucked away amidst the vibrant hustle and bustle of Istanbul. The room was beautifully presented, with a lovely view overlooking one of the city’s characterful side streets—perfect for soaking up the local atmosphere.
The location couldn’t be better, with most major attractions and fantastic food spots all within easy walking distance. It’s an ideal base for exploring the city while still offering a cosy and peaceful retreat at the end of the day.

The hotel breakfast was really great, and the staff were very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, the room quality was not at the level of a four-star hotel at all. We traveled as a family and booked four rooms, and each room had a different problem. Overall, the rooms felt more like a one- or two-star hotel rather than a four-star hotel.
I stayed in three hotels in Istanbul, and I like this hotel the most. We arrived at around 11 o'clock. We were worried that we could not check in until 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The brother at the front desk was very, very good and let us check in at around 11 o'clock. We flew for 11 hours and were exhausted. We could check in early, which was very warm. There was also a brother to help with the luggage, but unfortunately we had just arrived that day and did not have enough money to tip him. I wanted to stay here for the next two days, but there were no rooms. The hotel and the room are very beautiful, European style, and the room is also very spacious. There is a very cute and beautiful girl in the restaurant on the first floor. She also gave me a heart. When I left, we hugged each other tightly. In short, this hotel is very good in terms of environment and service. If I go to Istanbul again, I will definitely stay here again. Super satisfied ❤️💗♥️

The staff were very friendly and great, but despite being listed as new, the hotel itself is actually very old and it's clear they cut a lot of corners. We only received towels and slippers for the first two days; we had to ask for them, as well as for toilet paper. Even the toilet paper disappeared on the second day. The bed linen and blankets were all stained. Also, when booking, the services listed that airport transfer was included in the price, but after booking, they said it was incorrect and didn't bother to update it in the app.

The hotel’s location and cleanliness were very good. However, the housekeeping staff did not change the bed sheets during my stay, and the rooms could be cleaned more thoroughly.
The sound insulation between rooms is not very good, and you can easily hear noise from neighboring rooms.
Overall, the stay was pleasant, but there is definitely room for improvement in housekeeping and soundproofing.

GGuest UserPerfect location for everything we walked everywhere as the main attractions and bazaars were within 5 mins walking. Left was Hagia Sofia. Palace etc, right were bazaars...straight down was the sea. The hotel was lovely, and breakfast had everything I liked and more. The view from the top was amazing; you could see all across Istanbul.
Our room was very clean, and we even had soothing music in the bathroom, which was a really nice touch.
I gave 4 stars for amenities because although the hotel has a spa, I was really hoping for a hammam experience and unfortunately it was mixed. If they offered an hour or even part of the day for ladies only, this hotel would be an absolute winner.
One small downside was that our taxi couldn’t drop us off or pick us up directly outside the hotel, so we had to walk about 3 minutes.
That said, the area felt very safe we walked out at 10pm as two women and felt completely comfortable. There’s even a police station right opposite the hotel!
Overall, a great stay and I’d definitely recommend it.
AAkif. My first night was a disaster because my room's power supply kept cutting off and they took almost 3 to 4 hours to fix it, due to that I couldn't sleep the whole night and my morning plans got wasted too. I asked the hotel manager Mr.Arda to give me an extra night, (he refused), airport transfer on my checkout date , (he refused) , room upgrade, (he refused) , Then Mr Arda promised us a complimentary dinner at the rooftop restaurant and that was amazing .My initial plan was to stay 3 nights but then I extended it for 2 more nights because of 1 man Mr.Karem at the reception , the nicest guy of the hotel , Mr.Karem and Mr.Arda helped us alot and supported us in every aspect, but sorry to say all the other staff members there had just 1 answer. im sorry we cannot help you we cannot help you , I'll definitely visit again, Thanks to Mr.Arda and Mr.Karem ❤️ and lastly thanks to Mr.Servet who told us about the free shuttle service provided by the hotel which takes us to Taksim .
Thank you, Double Tree
Regards Akif

LLibukaidechenghuaThe rooms were, as always, very comfortable, and the bathroom system was excellent. The hotel view was also beautiful, especially from the breakfast restaurant, in the innermost corner, where you can see the strait – truly a delightful breakfast experience. If I had to pick a downside, it would be the surprisingly strict security check to enter The Ritz-Carlton in Istanbul, where both people and bags have to be scanned! I later found out that many diplomats stay here… so… you get it. The hotel provided various chocolates, as shown in the picture. The toiletries cost 45 Euros per bottle if you take them home, but you can use them freely inside the hotel. There were many old maps of Istanbul in the hallway, and my child spent a long time studying them with great interest.
GGuest UserExcellent, honestly, and clean. Mr. Abdullah was very helpful with the service and carried our luggage. It was a wonderful experience, and I've stayed here multiple times. It's also close to everything! 👍
GGuest UserI stayed at Roco Hotel in Taksim for about two weeks after getting stranded while traveling to the Middle East and needing to quickly find a place to stay while figuring out my next steps during a period of regional tensions. The reception was calm and very accommodating when I arrived. They upgraded me to a room the first night, and when I later extended my stay, they moved me to another room, both of which were comfortable. Housekeeping kept the room very clean and laundry service was available, which was helpful during a longer stay.
The location is excellent. It is right in the middle of Taksim with easy walking access to Istiklal Avenue, the mosque, restaurants, markets, pharmacies, ATMs, and multiple currency exchange offices. It’s a very convenient area if you want quick access to many things in the city, and restaurants nearby can also deliver food directly to the hotel if you prefer to stay in.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, from the reception team to the housekeeping staff. My only complaint was the amount of solicitation through WhatsApp after I shared my contact information. When I extended my reservation, I received repeated messages about prices and tours, which felt a bit overwhelming. It would be better if communication was limited to necessary hotel matters unless the guest specifically asks for additional services.
Overall, I had a good experience and would recommend the hotel, especially for short stays. The location alone makes it a great base for exploring Istanbul.
GGuest UserWe enjoyed our stay at this hotel and liked its location. Staff are friendly and helpful and we appreciated the daily room cleaning and reset. The best feature of the hotel is that it is well situated to explore Istanbul and is about a 10 minute walk to the Sultanahmet Square where you will find many of the main attractions in Istanbul like Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. There is a tram line station very close to the hotel and it is a short walk to Sirkeci metro station. It was a good base for us as we checked out the areas across the water. It is a little far from both airports with each taking about 1.5 hours to get to but we felt the location was worth the time.
The room's decor was a bit aged but charming. The beds were comfy and you can get extra pillows here. The room ran a bit warm during our stay but it was a bit noisy outside with frequent tram trains and restaurants below so we kept the window shut. They do have air conditioning and a radiator but we felt the AC wasn't worth turning on during a cool stay in December. Our neighbours were a bit noisy and it kept my wife up but I had no issues sleeping. It was moderately inconvenient when the restaurant decided to pop their new year's eve decorations at 1 in the morning. The bathroom was good and clean with good shower pressure, soft towels and we appreciated the warming rack for the towels. They provide soap and shampoo in dispensers in the shower.
The breakfast was decent enough to start the day. They had enough to do a Turkish style breakfast and most options were pretty light. They had some hot items like sausage, scrambled eggs and other options that changed daily. They also had an area for cold items like cheese, labneh, yoghurt, vegetables and some cold cuts. They had a limited selection of fruit with some oranges and apples. They also had coffee, tea, juice and water. I had an early check out on my last day and they made me a nice bagged lunch to go to the airport with and have me a big can of juice which was very nice. The hotel provides bottled water for guests as well as lots of tea for in room use.
The hotel has a restaurant on site and a small outdoor patio that is open for lunch, dinner and late dinner. They have some spa and massage treatments that you can book at the front desk. There are quite a few bath, restaurants, shops and other experiences nearby. People in the area are very friendly, welcoming and will invite you into their shop or restaurant...frequently.
DDawood Al-SalmanUpon arrival we received a room facing the main street. We could not sleep well because of the noise of the cars, but the next day the room was replaced with a quieter one. Thanks to the understanding staff. Everything was good, but the room's bathroom is old and needs maintenance and updating.
KKuailechuxing339The Pera Palace Hotel is like a vintage edition. Commissioned in 1892 and opened in 1895, it was designed by the French-Ottoman architect Alexander Vallaury. Its original purpose was to provide luxurious accommodation for Orient Express VIPs, earning it the reputation as Turkey's oldest European-style hotel. It was the first electrified building outside the Ottoman imperial palace and the only place in the city to offer hot water, boasting Istanbul's first electric elevator.
**Key Historical Guests:**
* **Mustafa Kemal Atatürk:** Stayed multiple times starting in 1917. Room 101, where he made important decisions, has now been converted into a museum displaying his belongings.
* **Agatha Christie:** A frequent guest from 1926–1932. Room 411 is famously where she wrote ******* on the Orient Express* and is preserved today as a themed room.
Other notable guests include Hemingway, Churchill, Edward VIII, and Hitchcock, making it a social hub for the era's elite.
The bedding is comfortable, and the location is convenient. I was inspired to visit after watching the Turkish series *Pera Palace*, and I highly recommend it. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent and refined.
