Ueno Zoo | Punch Guide
As a half-baked zoo enthusiast who is more fond of seeing animals than people, I have always had the idea of recording the zoos I have visited, but for various reasons such as laziness, I have never started writing. Finally, I am going to start now, and I hope this post will serve as a long-term updated zoo guide, preserving the moments I have encountered animals over the past few years.
📍Detailed address: 9-83 Ueno Park, Taito-ku, Tokyo
🚗Transportation guide: JR, Tokyo Metro, Keisei Electric Railway, 5 minutes walk from Ueno Station.
🕙Opening hours: 9:30~17:00 (ticket sales stop at 16:00), closed every Monday
💰Ticket price: 600 yen
🌈Preparation work:
1. Purchase tickets🎫 Adult 120 yuan + feeding ticket🎫
2. Prepare a power bank in advance, do not bring too much stuff (there is a luggage storage locker at the Flamingo Restaurant🍴 on the right side of the entrance, 10 yuan for a medium locker, which can be stored for one day, and can be temporarily opened in the middle, which is quite user-friendly);
3. It is recommended to go to a convenience store in the morning to buy sandwiches + water (which can be brought with you) as food for the day, of course, there is also food inside;
4. Check the route in advance, after getting off the subway, take the Hui Nan No. 6 bus for 2 stops to the zoo, it is best to arrive at 9:00 in the morning, check the weather forecast in advance and try to choose a sunny day for the trip, the photo📷 effect is good, do a good job of sun protection; be sure to bring your ID card
🤡Play strategy:
9:00 Enter the park, you need to walk a distance, there will be animal greeters on weekends, go inside, see the flamingos, it is recommended to feed them, the photos📷 are super beautiful;
Then follow the red marked route, enter the rentable car area (walking area is recommended if you can bear walking)
Must take photos📷 + feed the animals (flamingos, pigeons, giraffes🦒, small animals, zebras, alpacas🦙, kangaroos🦘) be sure to experience the joy of feeding (be sure to check the feeding times in advance, if you miss it, you can't use it, you can get a refund)

This is the first time my wife and baby in japan and they enjoy it it ueno zoo
Went to Ueno Zoo in May when the weather in Tokyo is still quite cooling. Love the animals and the sceneries there!
went for Panda ShinShin and RiRi 🤭 the admission only costs 600 yen and there are lots of animals inside!
Ueno Zoo for a half-day tour, Ueno Zoo is divided into East and West Districts. First enter from the West District gate. There are children's zoo, giant panda hall, west reptile hall, small animal hall (nocturnal animal hall), etc., buy giant panda lunch at noon, 1970 yen. After turning to the East District, it should be the old area. There is also a five-fold tower of cultural wealth in the park. From the old gate of the East District, the entrance of the East District is a new gate and a one-way street.
If you really comment on the level, this zoo should not even be comparable to an ordinary prefecture-level zoo like Qinhuangdao City, Weihai City, and it will not be a loss to see it once for his reputation, but don't report too much expectations.
Really big zoo, lots of unique animals. Polar bear is amazing! The only downside was that we stood in line for the twin pandas for 30mins only to barely see them behind the trees. I recommend verifying you can actually see the pandas when you line up, and also know that there are two panda lines! The second one (big pandas) had no line at all and we actually saw much more than the long line.
