The location is very strategic, within walking distance to the Kuching Cat Statue and the waterfront. I also got the room with the nice view as requested. The room was spacious enough for the three of us, and we felt very comfortable during our stay. Definitely will stay here again next time.

The location is in the city center, near the river. In the evening, you can go for a stroll along the waterfront and enjoy the scenery. The front desk staff are all great. However, the breakfast is quite underwhelming with limited food options.

Stayed at the old wing (block where the main lobby is). Everything needs an upgrade. From the carpet to the doors of the cabinet and working desk, the power plugs on the wall, the phone, the bathroom with mould in the corners etc. it’s also always cold in the old wing. Slept without turning on the air con every night. Breakfast was buffet style and had a good variety. But for me; the only thing that was good was the coffee machine. Maybe also because I’ve been to this city many times and I know there are a lot of good food just a few mins walk away. Staff was great though. Housekeeping cleaned the bathtub rubber mat for me, brought water when asked and cafe staff were friendly and nice. Many other hotel options in the city; I wouldn’t recommend this one.

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. Carpenter street, the waterfront, where nightly light shows (approx 15mins) are held and various historical buildings and sites are right at the doorstep of the hotel or within walking distance. There is also an excellent mall (Plaza Merdeka) is connected to the hotel which is a plus. Great service from all staff, thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable

The hotel provides great basic amenities for me to have a comfortable stay. The location is great, only 2-min walk to the cat statue and then can continue walking along the waterfront. The breakfast buffet spread also decent, i love their fried rice and fresh pineapple and orange juice. The staff also very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great service!

Overall rooms are basic with towels, toilet necessities provided. The shower hot water & pressure is super for a refreshing bath. Inter room sound insulation is quite bad you can hear the next room talking or watching TV clearly. Front desk staff were helpful in explaining the hotel policy. The hotel needs to look into their breakfast with better food varieties and the amount of food being served. We came down around 7:30am with most of the trays empty. Kitchen staff should also be trained to serve customers beside giving a deaf ear when customers assistance or request instead of just walked away into the kitchen.

I booked a Standard Hill View King on Chinese New Year Eve, The overall stay is a decent one, was provided with one King size bed and one single size bed, room was equipped with one mini fridge, one kettle and some cups, tissues, TV but the satellite line was bad as TV line appears unstable, small hair dryer, you can refer to photo I posted for amenities and room view, what I showed is all I got. Breakfast wasn't many choice but good enough, they have laksa, kolomee, salad, nasi lemak, bread

The hotel's location is excellent. Right across the street is the riverside park, making it very convenient to walk to Rainbow Bridge. The Parliament House on the opposite side is just a ten-minute walk away. In the evening, strolling along the Sarawak River on the opposite bank is also lovely. Just a heads-up: if you're returning to this side, make sure you get back before the Parliament House gate closes at 7 PM. We didn't notice the sign and ended up having to take a small ferry back. There are plenty of places to eat nearby. Except for the Sarawak Cultural Village and the Cat Museum, which require a taxi, all other attractions are within walking distance. Many museums are also worth visiting. There's a great Indian restaurant nearby that gets busy at lunchtime. The hotel's service and facilities are top-notch, especially the swimming pool, which has a fantastic ambiance. They even provide a complimentary fruit platter. Kuching is a city with a rich cultural heritage and is definitely worth a visit.

Pro: Room is very spacious, comfy beds, strong water pressure, comes with bathtub & toilet amenities, bathrobe & clean towels, diff TV channels available, stable WiFi. Good location with ample car parks available. Swimming pool is great, kids love it! Con: Not sparkly clean, just fine, pillows have stains if covers are removed, car park elevators & hotel room elevators are separated, AC just okay, not that cold, external windows are dirty, kinda run down a little bit, still have rooms for improvement as an “upscale/premium” hotel chain.

I’ve stayed at GoldenBay Hotel many times, and it continues to be my go‑to place in Bintulu. The ample parking is a huge plus, making every arrival and departure smooth. The location is also incredibly convenient, just a very short drive to The Spring Mall Bintulu, and surrounded by plenty of great food options in the Parkcity area. Always a comfortable, reliable stay. Looking forward to coming back again.
