We paid $289 incl. Taxes had to pay an extra $22 for parking which I wasn't aware of. Room was clean other than coke stains on the wall and water in the sink not draining very good. The view was a concrete wall of the next building. 🥴
Right by the lake in the city center, the scenery is good and convenient. The facilities are average and relatively old. Dinner is in the hotel restaurant, very cheap. The lakeside bar must be booked in advance, and there is no place a little later. Breakfast must be spit, buffet price is high, coffee tea is another money, a total of five or six things (barely food), unpalatable almost equal to murder, knife pressure neck will not eat a second time.
Nestled in the serene and picturesque landscape of Victoria, British Columbia, Oak Bay Beach Hotel offers an experience that seamlessly blends luxury, comfort, and stunning natural beauty. My stay at this boutique seaside hotel was nothing short of exceptional.
Location and Ambiance:
The location is a standout feature. Perched on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, the hotel provides breathtaking views of the water and the surrounding gardens. Whether you’re relaxing on the patio or enjoying a dip in the mineral pools, the scenery is always mesmerizing. The hotel’s architecture and decor exude a timeless elegance, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
Rooms and Amenities:
The rooms are spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed. My suite was equipped with a cozy fireplace, a luxurious bathroom with a deep soaking tub, and a private balcony overlooking the ocean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. The attention to detail in the room’s decor and amenities, from the high-quality linens to the locally sourced toiletries, enhanced the overall experience.
We were greeted by the staff when we arrived. Check-in only took a few minutes. The room was superb. Big and spacious room. We had a king and queen rooms and both has their own toilet and bath. A spacious living room with fire place and a balcony overlooking the mountains and lake. The kitchen has everything you needed. I couldn’t ask for more. The hotel is fantastic.
The hotel is very convenient for parking. The opposite is the harbor. It has a beautiful view. It is also downtown and very quiet and safe. It is only a ten minute walk from the casino.
For the price, the size of the room (2 bedroom and kitchen) and the location with convenient parking it’s honestly a very good stay and deal for a family. The beach is literally right there, the parking is in front of your room door and the pool is nice too.
That being said, there’s a few things you should be aware of that other people mentioned in their comments. The bad smell other mentioned is true, it’s on and off smells like laundry that stayed in the washer. The AC/Fridge are indeed loud. The overall cleanliness is not so great, but I believe the beds and sheets were clean and that’s kind of all that matters in the end.
the service was great! i was expecting them to have water facilities (i.e pool or hot tub) so that was a bit disappointing
the breakfast was great, although have extra waffle batter out would be helpful!
clean rooms, great staff and great location
overall i would come back again

GGuest UserBlack Rock Oceanfront is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at in Canada, It is upscale and luxurious. It is located within walking distance of the Trans Pacific hiking trail and the Lighthouse.
It has a heated outdoor pool.and a hot tub overlooking the ocean, as well as a fitness room. There are two oceanfront restaurants. They offer the same menu. One is more formal while the other has a casual bar-like feel. The food is very good although pricey, like most places in Ucluelet and Tofino.
Our room at the lodge was large. It had a spectacular view of Big Beach and the ocean from the balcony, which was large enough for more than 2 people to sit at. However, you could see and hear your neighbours enjoying their balconies too. There was a large, ultra-modern bathroom with a separate rainfall shower. There was also a 2-person bathtub located next to a covered glass window. If you uncover that window during daylight, you could see the ocean across the room and balcony.
I prefer Ucluelet because it's quieter than Tofino, and would definitely stay at Black Rock Oceanfront again in a heartbeat.
GGuest UserThis was my first time ever staying here and I was very impressed. I will definitely be coming back to the Bayside Resort in the future.
The staff from the moment I walked in the door were amazing. They were super polite and very helpful and very informative for all my questions and needs. The room was very clean and beds were very comfortable. I came there for a relaxing weekend and got just that. The restaurant and lounge staff were so nice and on the ball. It was very busy there but they never skipped a beat and always made me feel like I was the only one in the room. I was super impressed with this.
It was disappointing that there was no hot tub as it was dealing with repairs at the time, hey these things happen, but the pool was great and the workout room/gym was very impressive as well.
Location of this resort is amazing, honestly can’t get much better. Spectacular views on beachfront to one the most popular beaches in this region. What a beautiful spot!!
I feel like I can go on and on, all and all I had a great experience at the Bayside Resort and I will definitely be back soon!!
Kkate70Very nice hotel with good location..and view of the Fraser River...kind welcome from the receptionnist with a gift by check in...bottle of water ,& chocolate. Enjoy your stay & chlill and discover this beauty hotel
GGuest UserFound a good deal on a week day so we decided to go for the first time. I had heard good reviews about the hotel so I was excited. Stayed at the heritage tower, it was literally ‘heritage’… you could call it very vintage/ chic style but in other words it hasn’t been updated since early 1900… all the doors inside the room were squeaky, the bathroom door didn’t close properly since it looks like it has been painted many times, luckily there was a heater but the room is not sound-proof so every time someone walked above or below us, we could hear very clearly… some spots on the floor were uneven. The staff were friendly.
We went there to sit and relax in the pool but it was crowded and people were taking loud everywhere. Turned out that the outside of the hotel was a lot quieter and the scenery was beautiful and peaceful.
The restaurant ‘Cooper Restaurant’ was probably the best part of our stay. The foods were good and they had a jazz band which was great.
If you are planning to stay there I would recommend the other towers ( assuming they are newer buildings.)
CCarmenThe hotel is a bit old, but the towels and sheets in the room are like brand new, very clean, better than expected👍The hotel is next to various restaurants, convenience stores, and public swimming pools. After dinner, you can take a walk by the lake. It's awesome👍and the price is cheap , good value for money👍
GGuest UserTop notch service. Corner suite on the 6th floor had a killer view of the harbor and parliament building. Walking distance from restaurant and the BC museum. Really appreciated having a sitting space separate from the bedroom.
Everything was very nice but room not newly remodeled. Nonetheless, looking forward to an opportunity to stay there again.
Major flaw was the pool, sauna area was part of an attached gym. Not the spa experience I had hoped for.
AAnonymous UserThe location is superb, right in the heart of the port district and home to the cruise terminal. The staff were incredibly friendly and even proactively helped carry our luggage to our room. Right next door is the cinema featuring the 5D 'FlyOver Canada' experience. There are also plenty of popular dining establishments in the immediate vicinity.

BBrettI recently stayed in a King Executive Suite at Bayview Hotel, and overall, it was a comfortable experience. The suite was spacious, with a well-appointed bedroom and a cozy atmosphere. The bed was plush and inviting, ensuring a great night’s sleep. Everything was clean and well-maintained, adding to the overall comfort of the stay.
The included breakfast was satisfactory, with a decent selection of options to start the day. It wasn’t anything extraordinary, but it covered the essentials well.
The only minor drawback was that the living room area felt a bit dated. While still functional and comfortable, a refresh could enhance the overall feel of the suite.
That said, Bayview Hotel provided a pleasant stay with plenty of space to relax. It’s a solid choice for those looking for a comfortable and clean hotel
