Only after checking in did we realize that most of the hotel rooms were under renovation. There was a strong smell of paint, and we barely saw any other guests during our stay. It didn't feel like we were in a hotel, yet the price wasn't cheap. The heating in the room was also problematic; it felt even colder when on, like cold air was blowing, which made us all catch colds. The front desk staff were very helpful though, providing extra blankets for each of us. Due to the renovations, we couldn't enjoy any of the hotel's facilities. On the bright side, the hotel is very close to the beach, and the views there are fantastic.

A very accessible location if you were doing the scenic Cabot Trail or needed a remote getaway. Our cottage was just next to a nice sandy beach. Equipped with swings, a BBQ, and a kitchen, this getaway has the essentials most groups would need. The staff was also very friendly when we arrived and exited. Keep in mind Jul and Aug is the peak season around here so it's reflected in the price. The property is also older so while they keep it clean, some doors and windows might not close well or there are holes in the nets etc. Some fix ups and it could be a great place for a week with the family.

Great stay here with my two boys 4 and 6. Similar price to other local options through Trip.com, but the small indoor pool and complimentary hot breakfast made us choose Comfort Inn Bedford/Halifax. Very clean and the room felt well equipped. TV was nicer than those in other local hotels at the same price point. Newer model + many more channel options. Staff was friendly and helpful.

This retro wooden house hotel is one of the best accommodations in Badek Town. It is a 5-minute walk to the town center. It is opposite to the supermarket and convenience store. It is within walking distance to the Bell Museum and Lake Brador Pier. It is very convenient to drive by car on the Cabot Ring Road. Free open-air parking spaces, RVs and domestic cars are parked without pressure. The building is a typical Atlantic coast retro Victorian style, the overall atmosphere is full, the room retains retro soft furnishings, fabric furniture, the bed is soft and sleeps well, and the room type with a separate balcony can sit and drink coffee. It has its own restaurant and bar, mainly local seafood simple meals, lobster rolls, seafood soup are delicious. There is a self-service laundry room on the first floor. Old buildings have no elevator, high-rise rooms are inconvenient to carry luggage; room WiFi signal is weak; room cleaning standards are based, only towels are replaced, garbage is cleared, and there is less deep cleaning; breakfast is a paid a la carte, and we are not open when we live; Old-fashioned sound insulation is average, you can hear the sound of walking upstairs, and the bathroom has no exhaust.

The hotel is old and the equipment is average. The location is very good, just by the pier. It is very convenient to eat nearby. The restaurant on the first floor of the hotel is also OK. We didn't go out to eat one day in heavy rain. We tried it and felt it was not bad. Parking is charged. There is also a Japanese restaurant nearby. It is good to try.

Nice to stay in the historic hotel. As such, the room showed it's age which is not necessarily bad. It had a charm and warmness not found in most modern hotel rooms. The full breakfast was definitely the highlight. It was not advertised as such on the booking site but should be. I was a bit disappointed that the internet was not password protected. I was reluctant to leave my computer on too long for fear of hacking.

If you are planning on doing the Cabot Trail, and not starting in Sydney, this is a great place to stay before you start the drive. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, and the on-site laundry was great - it saved us a lot of time trying to find one in the next few days. The owner was very helpful, and the breakfast was one of the best on our trip so far, with lots of fresh fruit.

The location was excellent, being just a short distance from the Skyline Trail. Check-in was quick, although a warmer welcome would have enhanced the experience. The room felt dated and became quite cold at night, but extra quilts and sheets were provided. Unfortunately, there are limited accommodation options in the area, so it’s difficult to ask for more.

Room is big and clean. The surrounding environment is quiet. There is a laundry room which is great. Location is a bit far from the main attraction. However, there is a bus stop in front of the hotel, which provides easy access to downtown.

I always have a good experience at this motel. It is just down the road from my daughter’s home so very convenient. It is comfortable and cozy. My room was a housekeeping unit so would be convenient for a longer stay to cook a few meals in the unit.  The bed was very comfortable.
