First of all, I want to thank every staff member at Tunamaya for their hospitality, professionalism, and attentive service to guests. Secondly, I'd like to express my gratitude to the wonderful chefs who cooked absolutely everything deliciously! Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy fresh, grilled seafood! Thank you for the themed evenings; you truly aimed to surprise us, and you succeeded! I wholeheartedly wish you prosperity and many more grateful tourists. Now, let me tell you about our stay. A vacation at Tunamaya isn't what you'd call a typical beach holiday, as popular with Russian tourists. But, of course, people don't come to Tioman for that anyway. The nature here is incredibly beautiful, with views of the jungle and mountains – every time I walked to the restaurant from our bungalow, my heart soared with gratitude and awe at the beauty! It truly is a vacation for the soul! The resort also offers diving and snorkeling equipment, a glass-bottom boat, and kayaks. There's an outdoor sports area where my husband exercised daily. And, of course, the cool, scenic poolside overlooking the sea was a great pleasure. We also discovered a beach near and beyond the second, currently inactive pier. It's perfectly fine for swimming in clear water and taking beautiful photos. The views of the massive boulders and monoliths reminded us of the Seychelles, only the sea there was always calm. My husband and elder son also hiked through the village to the waterfall, bringing back many beautiful photos and impressions! As for suggestions – I'd recommend sprucing up and beautifying the grounds. Some railings along the beach path are broken, and there are old pieces of furniture lying around. I also wasn't very pleased with the condition of the toilet near the pool; I sincerely hope you find the means to do some cosmetic renovations there. A pleasant bonus of being on the island was encountering the mischievous monkeys and monitor lizards. Despite the repellents, they found ways to roam the grounds, and that's wonderful because we are guests in their home! They are the true aboriginals of Tioman. Overall, we had a pleasant family stay at Holiday Villa Cherating. The room was clean and comfortable, and there was ample parking space available. The kids really enjoyed the water playground, although it is on the smaller side, and the main swimming pool was great as well. Breakfast was simple with limited options, but reasonable and expected for a 3-star resort. Recommended for a short family getaway!

This is family and kids friendly hotel, everything is good and fine. But for breakfast for 3days stays is the same menu I'm expecting other kind of fried noodle or nasi goreng variation on different days. English breakfast also the same menu. The most enjoyable thing is the kids pool because that is the only kids activities can do other than going to the kids gym. But overall the hotel is clean and really quiet. So peaceful. And hotel management can plan on more beach activities like jet ski or surfing activities. The beach is wavy and not safe for recreational swimming.

🏝 Location The hotel is perfectly situated at Teluk Cempedak Beach, right by the South China Sea, offering direct access to the sand and waves. It’s only about a 10‑minute drive from Kuantan city center, making it convenient for shopping and exploring local attractions. Guests can enjoy KFC, Mcd, Starbucks, family mart and famost curry mee just infront of the hotel. 🍴 Food Highly recommend their breakfast buffet, is generous, featuring both local specialties such as *nasi kerabu*, *solok lada*, and *ayam bakar*, as well as international options. For dinner, the seafood buffet is highly recommended too. Especially with the relaxing seaside atmosphere at night. A standout dish is the restaurant’s roti bawang served with dhal curry, which many guests rave about. 🌿 Environment & Atmosphere The resort has been fully renovated, some with stunning sea views. The surroundings are peaceful, ideal for unwinding—whether it’s a morning walk along the beach or watching the sunset in the evening. Facilities include multiple swimming pools for both adults and children, ensuring everyone has a place to relax. Staff are warm and welcoming, creating a homely and comfortable experience for guests. ✨ Overall Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort stands out for its prime beachfront location, diverse dining options, and relaxing atmosphere. It’s an excellent choice for families, couples, or friends looking for a balanced mix of convenience and leisure in Kuantan.

Upon exiting the ferry in Tekek village, a bus was waiting to transport tourists. Check-in at the hotel went smoothly; our two connecting rooms matched the booked criteria, located on the ground floor of a two-story bungalow with a garden view. Housekeeping always occurred at the same time, which was very convenient, but there was an issue with towel replenishment. We often had to seek out staff and ask for them, though eventually, they started bringing even more than we needed. Water is refilled promptly, and if more is required, it's provided without any problems. The hotel always has a shortage of beach towels, and they only become available for distribution from 9 AM onwards, which is quite inconvenient. The beach bar also starts operating at 5 PM, which is a bit odd. The breakfast buffet in the main restaurant offers a wide variety of choices. You can also order lunch and dinner from the menu at the hotel; prices are reasonable, and they don't overdo it with spices. The second restaurant (Indian) is completely closed. Opposite Berjaya, there's a small island where you can book a snorkeling boat trip to explore the underwater world. There weren't many live corals, but plenty of beautiful fish. However, we preferred snorkeling under the boat departure pier, where there were many schools of fish and small sharks in the shallows. Monkeys frequently visit the hotel grounds, bungalows, and beach; they are very curious but not aggressive. We also saw monitor lizards. The nature of Tioman and the gentle, secluded sea were very impressive. Sandflies were an issue; nothing we brought from home helped. We bought local spray at the hotel, which reduced the bites, but the healing process only truly began when we got home. The hotel has a gorgeous property and a large beach area. The rooms are in need of renovation; everything feels a bit tired, but functional. The staff are responsive and polite.

The beach view was pretty and the atmosphere was relaxing. The service was very good, the staff there were nice too. Just one thing that can be improved on: the environment was a bit undesirable and there were a lot of iguanas in water and in land, causing us to feel a little uncomfortable to walk out of our rooms at night. Amenities need improvement also...for example, the hair dryers weren't working well and the toilet smells bad too.

The room was very beautiful and well-equipped. I was very satisfied. Excellent. I'd definitely come again. The staff were also excellent. It's close to the beach. My only suggestion is to hopefully improve the covered parking. Thank you.

The rooms are clean and relaxing, with many decorations and items made from local, handcrafted materials, which is both eco-friendly and gives the hotel its unique character. The hotel owner and staff are polite and sincere, without any noticeable commercial vibe. The natural environment is quiet and pristine, and the hotel blends seamlessly with its surroundings. Most guests here are couples enjoying their time together; we were the only ones with children during our three-day stay. We really loved this quiet, non-commercial holiday environment. January is monsoon season, so the winds and waves were strong. We tried snorkeling on two mornings, but it wasn't amazing. The ecosystem here isn't as vibrant as in Mataking, Semporna; we didn't see as many types of fish, and there were more rocks, making the snorkeling environment less friendly than Mataking. However, the hotel stay itself was truly comfortable, and we felt the energy of nature – a great opportunity to relax. The staff and owner were fantastic and even personally picked us up and dropped us off at the pier. Their service felt genuinely sincere, unlike Semporna, where there's a strong commercial atmosphere, and you don't feel the same genuine human interaction, but rather more commercialism, and the room rates are many times higher without the corresponding service quality. We love this kind of hotel vacation experience. It's filled with the scent of nature everywhere, with streams flowing through the rainforest, integrating the hotel with the sea – a resort that has both mountains and the ocean. Friendly tip: The hotel carefully prepares all three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). The food provided is consistently delicious, and although the prices are not cheap, it's worth it.

I chose this hotel for my customer because it is convenient and located in a great area. The customer really liked the hotel and found it very convenient. The weekday price is also very reasonable and affordable. Highly recommended!

This was our second stay at the hotel with my family, and I noticed quite a few changes. The swimming pool is now very close to the beach, most likely due to the monsoon season affecting the shoreline. The food selection was disappointing with very limited variety, and honestly, not worth the price. However, I did enjoy the location — it feels private and away from the crowds, which is a plus. The room itself was fairly clean, but the TV channels were limited, and there was no iron or hair dryer provided. For the price, it didn’t feel like good value, but for 3 adults and 2 kids, it was acceptable overall.
