My recent stay at the Mandarin Oriental Muscat was overall enjoyable, with several notable highlights. The hotel’s location near the beachfront is fantastic, offering stunning views of Muscat and the surrounding mountains. The interiors are beautifully designed, featuring natural materials that create a luxurious and calming atmosphere.
The rooms were ultra-comfortable, with excellent beds and top-quality linens that made for a great night’s sleep. I also appreciated the thoughtful in-room amenities, including good tea, a Nespresso machine, and water in glass bottles—a healthy and eco-friendly touch.
The shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner provided were of great quality, and the dental kits were decent. However, I did notice that some toothpaste tubes weren’t fresh, as the paste had become solid and dry in a few sets. Additionally, the shaving kit was of the cheapest level, which didn’t align with the otherwise high standards of the hotel.
Breakfast was good but not quite up to the level typically expected from Mandarin Oriental. There’s definitely room for improvement here, but I believe this is something the hotel will refine over time. The staff were polite and professional, which added to the overall positive experience.
Considering the hotel is still new, I’d rate the overall experience, including the price/value ratio, as 3.5 out of 5. I’m confident that with time, the hotel will address these minor gaps and elevate the experience to match the impeccable standards the brand is known for.
Overall, I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The location was particularly convenient, and the staff were incredibly helpful. I especially want to recognize Receptionist's for her friendly and attentive service. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
As a suggestion for improvement, it would be beneficial if the breakfast cost could be included in the room rate. Currently, it's listed as a separate expense. This would make budgeting and overall pricing more transparent for guests.
Thank you again for a great stay!
Disappointing week in a disappointing hotel. From the moment we landed in Oman, the intercontinental hotel was not helpful. When we asked for a taxi, they wouldn’t help us and we had to arrange ourselves. When we asked if we had a sea view, we were told “we had a partial sea view” which was actually a car park and a loud generator which rattled on all through the night. The generator was so loud we had to keep the balcony doors closed all the time. However, one night, even with the doors closed we were kept awake until 3am with loud bangs and clatters from hotel staff loading up vans with furniture after an event at the hotel. When we asked about booking the onsite restaurants, we were told they were all closed apart from the main one. Multiple times when we went to the main restaurant we were told it was too busy and we had to wait and come back later. When we did get into the restaurant, we often had to wait long times for food to be replaced or we given paper cups because they’d run out of glasses! When we tried to get the WiFi at the pool, there was none. When we tried to use the creams in the room, they’d run out. The staff were lovely and the food was nice but altogether, we didn’t feel looked after and definitely don’t feel this is a 5* hotel.
Amazing time spent at the Ritz. Feeling like royalty as you step in as it was previously the Sultan’s palace. After a day of adventuring you feel as you’ve entered a haven of peace. The staff was helpful, elegant, and really trying to satisfy every need. They also have one of the best Chinese gastronomic restaurants I have tasted. My favorite amenities were available as they are supplied by Diptyque. Last but not least the location takes your breath away, from the poolside and beachside.
This is my second visit to Muscat and I was impressed by the pool, which is over 100m long. The pool is truly gorgeous! Since August is the low season, there are not many guests at the hotel and you can swim in the pool alone, as if it were your own private pool! In fact, there are 3 pools. So you can choose the one that suits your taste. Perhaps, swimming in the Gulf of Oman did not impress me much. Let's just say that there are better seas. But, on the other hand, there is always such a small percentage of vacationers who want to swim in the sea that most people just need to go in, jump in the waves and get out. In terms of enjoying the beach, the experience here is 100% positive. The service on the beach is excellent! They constantly bring ice water with lemon and mint, offer refreshing napkins, and treat you to fruits. The hotel is designed in a traditional Arabic style and fully meets the idea of a luxurious holiday. The dark palette in the interiors emphasizes the architecture and gives a sense of sophistication. For guests who book villas, the Amouage bath line is offered. In simpler rooms - Аsqua di Parma, which is also not bad! As for the food, in my opinion, it is ordinary, without frills. I received undoubted aesthetic pleasure from staying in this beautiful place, but the hotel did not make any gastronomic impressions on me. At the same time, there are no complaints about the service. Everyone I dealt with - reception staff, beach staff, waiters are exceptionally friendly and responsive!
Decent hotel, rooms were big for nothing really cheap and plain decor fake marble tiles room interior was not matching the hotel price or downstairs lobby, for the price of hotel all amenities and mini bar was chargeable also price of breakfast was not worth the money, the dressing table was a joke unusable plugs socket on dressing table, huge construction site outside the hotel only attraction was the 5 star restaurants on site keep your wallets loaded 😉
W Hotel Muscat .. Everything was amazing, the room, the bed, the gym, the pool, the amazing breakfast and the helpful staff.”

A beautiful and comfortable hotel on the shore with excellent service, comfortable rooms and picturesque views. The hotel's restaurants and breakfast are of a high standard. The hotel provides a shuttle to the malls and Mutrah Souq. The staff is very friendly and also assists in organizing tours. The location is a little far from the center, as well as malls and attractions, but is excellent for a quiet and comfortable stay.
I'd like to share with you a small hotel. There aren't many reviews from other people. Ctrip helped me book the hotel. Ctrip's service is still good. The modern equipment of the whole hotel is still good. At the beginning, there will be a big difference in design compared with the W Hotel. After going up, it is still good overall. It also reflects the country's emphasis on tourism, the possibility of the development of the hotel industry and the surrounding serviced apartment projects. There are very few Chinese people. Oman is a visa-free country. From the overall feeling of entry, it is still very modern and good. Although there is a so-called special channel for tipping when entering the country, 10 Omani currency, if you take a taxi, you can not go to the reservation counter at the exit of the arrival hall to call. After exiting the exit, the taxi entrance is still good.

GGuest UserThe hotel is 7 or 8 minutes walk from Qurum Beach, convenient to see the sea view, but there is no large business super nearby, restaurant. I am a girl, traveling alone, and the stay experience at this hotel is very poor. First of all, the taxi at the entrance of the hotel is the hotel's internal car team. The slaughter of passengers is serious and unreasonable. I took it once. The original fare of 5 rias was charged 10 rias. Finally, I took a more detour. When getting off the bus, the Arab driver shouted at me for 2 more riya, quite rude. When I left, I had to take a taxi to the airport and stopped a taxi at the door, but the uncle of the hotel taxi team called the other taxis and forced my luggage to his own trunk, not saying that they had to take the same price. I was angry, but they were unreasonable, and they argued with each other. I called the manager of the hotel, and the manager looked at it and then stood by! Secondly, during my stay, I was knocked on the door by a local drunk man in the next room. I later learned that this hotel has a bar, and the local wind is not good. I did see some local young ladies in and out of the evening dressed in cool clothes. . . The above wrote his own experience, hope to provide reference for the countrymen.

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a very good location, right in the embassy district. Although it is a little older, the overall stay experience is very good👍
