Was looking forward to our stay with the rebranding of Belmont to international chain Mercure. GOOD: 1. Staff is great, friendly and helpful. Diane at the check-in counter was helpful. 2. 6-7 minutes walking access to the private beach and outdoor pool shared with Savoy Hotel. 3. There are many good restaurants within walking distance. 4. It also has an indoor pool, gym, and spa. COULD BE IMPROVED: 1. For a 4-star hotel, Pulo's breakfast was average with nothing special or memorable. The food selection for the buffet is plentiful but not premium. The service of the attendants is lacking. Once seated, no one approached us to offer water or coffee during breakfast. Spread is a decent size so you'll find something to fill you up. 2. There is sewer smell in the lobby of our floor and inside the elevator at times. One staff admitted that the building has plumbing issues in the basement. 3. Elevator security system is faulty. Would not accept my keycard so could not go to our floor. Had to approach the reception desk THREE times to have my keycard checked. Eventually a staff had to accompany me to the elevator to tap my floor.

Here's my hotel booking advice for traveling with seniors and a little one. A large resort is ideal because it's not suitable for a baby to go island hopping. During the day, we mostly spent our time at the various pools and the beach within the hotel. The direct-access pool room was my baby's favorite; they carefully walked down the steps one by one, eager to learn how to swim. We even happened to be there for Chinese New Year's Day, and the hotel provided a complimentary buffet dinner for all guests. The buffet was excellent, and the performance was fantastic. This hotel is impeccable, and I'll definitely stay here again in the future. I also booked a two-night villa at another hotel. While a villa might seem nice, it was actually quite impractical. The small pool in the villa couldn't satisfy my mom's swimming needs; she didn't even get in. It was also dangerous for the baby to play in the yard, walking around the pool. We originally booked it to cook our own New Year's Eve dinner, but we couldn't even buy seafood locally in the end [crying face].

This hotel offers excellent value for money; I'd highly recommend it to any friends visiting Bohol. **Facilities:** No mini-fridge, which I suggest they improve. The local weather is hot, and it's inconvenient when you want a cold drink or ice cream in your room. **Cleanliness:** Very clean. The pool is meticulously cleaned every day. **Environment:** It's quite close to Alona Beach. The hotel offers a shuttle service, and even if you take a tricycle back on your own, it's not expensive. There's a decent-sized supermarket about a ten-minute drive away. **Service:** The front desk and staff are all very friendly and enthusiastic.

We had an amazing stay at this resort, especially the breakfast. There are many pools and a calm beach, and the gym is very good. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and always smiling. However, there are a few things that could be improved: 1. The Wi-Fi access ends at 11 AM, which is quite strange and inconvenient. 2. You are not allowed to use the pools after your checkout. 3. You are not allowed to use the sunbeds with umbrellas after your checkout. 4. The beach is clean, but there is still a lot of “water grass” and the water is not very deep for swimming.

We had a wonderful stay at this resort and truly appreciate the exceptional service provided by the staff. The front desk team was incredibly helpful—when my husband thought he had dropped his wallet in the car during our transit from the pier, they went above and beyond by checking the CCTV to help us track the car plate number. With their help, we discovered that the wallet was not left in the van. Eventually, we realized it had been dropped in a Grab car during our journey from Cebu City to Pier 1 Cebu, and we were able to successfully recover it. We are very grateful for their effort and support throughout the process. From the first day we checked in, the front desk staff noticed that my son was not feeling well. They kindly informed us that the resort has a nurse available and encouraged us to reach out if needed. On the third day, my 4-year-old son’s diarrhea became more serious, and the staff once again showed genuine care and concern. They arranged for a nurse to check on him, who provided helpful advice and referred us to a clinic doctor the next morning. This gave us great peace of mind as parents. The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable, and we really enjoyed the pool—it was excellent. Overall, the warm hospitality made our stay even more memorable. We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast at the resort, the purple yam porridge is very nice. All the staff were very kind, helpful, friendly, and warm. We would definitely come back again if we travel to Bohol. One small suggestion would be to add a gym room for guests, which would make the facilities even more complete. Thank you again for the wonderful experience!

I have had the pleasure of booking this hotel on four separate occasions, each time I visit the Philippines. I was particularly impressed by the Manager on Duty, who graciously accommodated my request for a city-view room on a high floor. I have always been drawn to this hotel due to its prime location, excellent breakfast selection, and courteous staff who consistently provide exceptional assistance. I highly recommend this Bayfront hotel at Cebu Capitol Site for its outstanding services.

We stayed at Savoy Hotel Cebu and overall the experience was just okay. The room was smaller than what was shown in the photos, which was a bit disappointing. The toilet was also quite small and did not feel as dainty or well-designed as expected. Another concern was the breakfast policy. We booked the room with breakfast for 3 pax, but only 2 breakfasts were honored because my daughter is already 12 years old. This was not clearly explained during the booking, so it came as a surprise. The hotel is decent, but clearer information and more accurate photos would help manage guests’ expectations better.

Great location near Aloha Beach with many restaurants and convenience stores nearby, very easy to get food and move around. Staff were helpful and friendly. However, the room was arranged near the water pump, which was very noisy throughout the stay. The room itself was very basic, suitable for a simple short stay.

My family and I only stayed for a night but it was a fun experience. There are a lot of pools and activity areas. All the pools were about knee to a bit above the waist high which was okay, I'm assuming it's for the safety of the kids since there are a lot of families with children in the resort. We also enjoyed the food(room service and breakfast buffet), but we were a bit disappointed with the dessert since the pastries were a little dry and bland. The drinks however, were good and enjoyable. Service was really nice, everyone always greeted us with a smile and was attentive to our needs. Wifi is free and so far we have had no problem with the speed. The beds are comfortable and the rooms were clean. Though I felt our experience was a bit lacking since there were a few toiletries that were not provided, like room slippers, cotton buds and cotton, a comb, etc. Also the cable was not good so staying in the room to relax would feel a little boring. Also, you only get 1 free request for ice and the next has a payment. But they do provide free water which is refillable and they also offer free instant coffee and tea. Overall, it was a fun experience and I would still love to come back next time.

We stayed for 2 nights. It was decent value for money. But lots of small giggles...our room was right kn top of the area that served bfast. Trolleys bringing food in made a lot of noise from 5 am! Towels were not freely available! Choice of food for vegetarians is limited.

We loved staying in this location. Our room was right on the water, giving some breathtaking views morning and night. Lots of storage space and big bathroom. The hotel has a great diving center that also rents all kinds of snorkeling equipment too until later hours. Pool was clean and there was even a tipsy bar within it. Our only issue was very low water pressure in the shower which made washing long hair ia bit challenging. While you are away from the “mail” street in town, walk us about 8 min and there are few other hotels/ restaurants and activity companies located right next to hotel entrance

My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at the Blue Orchid, and it truly exceeded our expectations in every way. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a  view of the ocean over the treetops. It felt peaceful and private — exactly the atmosphere we were hoping for. The staff were exceptional — so friendly, kind, and accommodating. They helped me plan a surprise proposal for my fiancé, offering suggestions for the perfect location and ultimately arranging for us to use their private rooftop. They also coordinated a romantic dinner there just for us, ensuring we had complete privacy. It was an unforgettable evening, and I’m so grateful for the care they put into making it so special. The resort arranged our transportation both from our previous hotel in Mactan and later to Cebu Pier 1, which made travel stress-free. We also booked canyoneering and an introductory scuba dive through them. The instructors were fantastic — very patient and reassuring, especially when I became nervous underwater and couldn’t finish the dive. While the resort is a bit removed from the busier Panagsama Beach area, that was a huge plus for us. We wanted somewhere quiet, scenic, and romantic, and Blue Orchid delivered exactly that. The restaurant doesn’t have a massive menu, but the food was consistently delicious, portions were perfect, and prices were very fair. Even though there wasn’t a kettle in the room, hot water, coffee and tea was readily available and it was never an inconvenience since everything was close by. We also appreciated the mosquito net over the bed — it added to the tropical charm, though we didn’t need it because insects were never an issue. We even spotted a tiny gecko in our room upon arrival, but it was harmless and quickly disappeared — just part of the island’s character! Overall, the Blue Orchid was everything we hoped for: quiet, romantic, and welcoming. The staff helped make one of the most meaningful moments of our lives absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend it, especially to LGBTQ+ travelers looking for a peaceful and genuinely inclusive place to stay in Moalboal. When we do a return trip to the area, we will stay here again.
