Beach Hotels in Faro District, Portugal

This hotel is outdated and doesn't deserve its 5-star rating; it's more like a 2 or 3-star property. We stayed for 2 nights and didn't have any hot water, so we had to take cold showers in winter at a supposedly 5-star hotel! I mentioned this at the reception to request a commercial gesture, but the manager wasn't there. I left my number, and so far, no one has contacted me! The breakfast was decent enough, and the beach view was absolutely lovely. When I made my reservation, I requested an upstairs room, but we were given a ground-floor room. I'm disappointed with this stay and wouldn't recommend it.

The hostel is in the old town with its restaurants and bars. But it's almost quiet: no load music from bars. In the close vicinity there are two convenience stores, Almanhecer and Spar. The first beach, Praia da Batata, is 10-minute walk and it's the starting point to the scenic walk along the coast line to Ponta da Piedade. The 6-bed dorm, kitchen and bathroom are clean. Towel is provided for free. Locker is 1€ per night. The kitchen has a table with 6 chairs, a fridge, two vitroceramic hotplates, pots, pans, butcher knife, etc. From the kitchen, you can access a small backyard with table and chairs: smoking is autorised there.

Another great stay in Sagres. We love this hotel. It is our second stay here and will return. We had an apartment overlooking the pool and ocean. Great for watching the sunset. There was a kitchenette, a living room, balcony, bedroom with 2 twin beds and bathroom. It was perfect for us. Great value for the money.

Once called the Alvor Luna Bay when bedrooms seemed larger!!! Renamed and reshaped. Swishly refurbed as new. Now the main problem is the lack of storage in what seem smaller bedrooms despite voluminous balconies. Simply, storage is inadequate for two guests for longer than a week, maximum. Let me describe............ a small [4feet tall?] open metal wardrobe rail with five fixed point clothes hangers. Four or five open shelves beside this rail., one occupied by the rooms safe. In all other respects its fine. The staff good and plentiful and helpful. The location the best in town!

great place, but small breakfast. the rooms have a problem with humidity and heating, but that is a known thing for southern portugal. all was super clean and quiet. If the breakfast buffet would have been more extensive and the staff at the buffet more friendly, it would be a 5/5

Amabilidad del personal. Hotel con buen precio y que cuenta con las cosas que uno espera. Destaco además que el parking es gratuito. El desayuno es estupendo. Si he de poner una pega es el del ascensor, que era pequeño. Tampoco sé si había más de uno. Realmente no me hizo falta porque nos alojamos en la primera planta. En definitiva, es un hotel funcional, bien situado y con una relación calidad/precio muy competitiva.

A great relaxing hotel close to the town centre. Clean room,comfortable bed. Pool was a nice area and the building work going on close by was not much of an issue. We went full board and ate some lovely food. The chicken ceaser salad at the pool bar was lovely. At breakfast there was a man on the piano which was a nice touch. Very small complaint is that the swim up bar was unmanned but wasn’t much of an issue for us but may have been good to know before hand.

Good location just off from the main area, so it is nice e and quiet. Hotel is absolutely spotless and would stay here again. Only onr mild issue is the skateboard ramps a the back of property but they only seem to be used in frequently and never late at night.

Hotel has great facilities and was very clean, though we were disappointed to realise that due to unsafe cliffs, it no longer offered direct access to the beach. Service should really be improved for such an expensive hotel: 1. Reception gave us 2 twin beds even though we specifically made a request at booking for double bed 2. Restaurants got my coffee orders wrong on multiple occasions throughout the stay 3. During the saturday bbq night, the hostess Priscilla made up a poor excuse not to give us a poolside table even though we were one of the earliest guests there. Her excuse was the remaining poolside tables were reserved for 4 families with dogs. We didn't see a single dog during the entire course of 2 hours, and the tables were given away to other couples for reasons unknown. This incident really upset us, and the fact that she had the audacity to make up such an excuse is appalling. 4. Gratuity was charged at 7.5% for every item, which is fine but what left a bad taste in the mouth is the hotel did it without informing customers upfront.

Very good value hotel in a good location for Alvor  Nice pool and a very good buffet breakfast  The Hotel has a pool and parking make sure you get a room with a balcony otherwise the room would be too cramped
