Big problems at check in but this was actually trip.coms faulty for not confirming booking with hotel.
Trip.com happy to take my money first had to complaint against trip.com the compensated me but with a fight.
Location good you get breakfast included don't expect anything special. Like no round eggs.
Torquay is quite expensive so alcohol and drinks prices at the hotel high.
You can walk to marina in 5 minutes.
No car parking so if you want parking be prepared to walk
The hotel and area was fantastic, however, service at the front desk and the restaurant was lacking.
We took a long weekend break and were excited to try the beach club, however our experience was dampened by the service.
Being made to stand around for 5 minutes, whilst being told we hadn't paid (when we had) was unnecessary and frankly embarrassing.
The restaurant was the most disappointing part of the stay.
I'm the evening service was slow, followed by having our order wrong twice and also dropped.
Breakfast at the restaurant was lacking compared to cheaper hotels that offer continental. Small selection , nothing outstanding. When we ordered a cooked breakfast, it took 30-40 minutes to receive some eggs and pancakes although the restaurant was fairly quiet.
However, the room, facilities, and the spa were fantastic. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. The beach club outside was gorgeous. The spa was perfect and treatments were, to quote my partner, 'one of the best massages of my life'.
We're unsure if we would come back. Although the facilities were great, the service was mostly subpar and not what we'd expect from a harbour hotel.
We booked a 1 night stay for New Years Eve and were very happy with everything.
The room with a view was lovely . Warm & with tea coffee facilities & a comfy bed.
The staff were all very friendly & accommodating and breakfast was plentiful in a lovely dining area with fab views.
My only small grumbles would be that the furniture in the room needs an upgrade and there was a £10 charge for the car park .
Booed through trip.com. Made a mistake in my booking and booed a room that required disabled access. This was pointed out by a very helpful young lady called Laura (I think?) She amended our booking and very gratefully gave us a sea view room! We had stayed in Paignton the previous night in the Travelodge down the road as it was a bit cheaper. If/when we come again I’d have no hesitation in paying the extra and staying here again. Please thank the wonderful Laura from us! 👍

Very welcoming reception. Evening meal was awful. Couldn't get under shower as water was too hot. Breakfast was a nightmare. People sat down after us got served before us. Eggs Royal came with no eggs and full breakfast came with wrong eggs. Waiter accidently dropped a flower stem into my coffee (and the water they were in was not fresh) and left it for me to replace coffee. Not impressed.
My single bedroom was ideal for myself and very clean and everything I needed for my stay staff was helpful and close to all amenities great value for money and would definitely go bk there can't give feed bk on breakfast as I didn't have it
1. The location is excellent and the English Channel can be seen in the room. The hotel is also 100 meters from the beach.
2. The booked room has breakfast and dinner, breakfast is almost the same as breakfast elsewhere. But dinner is good (ordered for £20 separately), pre-dinner, dinner and dessert
3. The room is average, if the twin bed is small, each bed is not big
Excellent service from the lovely gentleman at reception. He was welcoming and informative. Room was clean with everything we needed and well serviced. We had a cocktail in the bar before we went to bed and it was perfect!
Would stay again definitely 😄

Very nice hotel & staff beautiful views from balcony
I have to admit, I wish I had used Leonardo's Hotels in the past, when I had the option to. But now I can't help but feel the regret of not discovering their chains earlier enough. Anyway, that's by the by, but to say the hotel exceeded exceeded my expectations is an understatement. I mean, a part from the usual basic needs, the tea, the coffee, the milk for crying out loud, there were abundance of those. I was honestly extremely happy to see that given my stay was only for a day, that amount of supply was left to my disposal. I have stayed at branded chains who can't even get the basic right let alone go above and beyond. Other key touches, the selection of pillows left on the bed, unlike some places where you have to make do with a rough night sleep if the pillow available does not suit your need, I had no such issue with Leonardo. The pillows were there, scattered on top of the bed, I found one that was comfortable and slept with no complaints. This is extra brownie points territory, Leonardo! To conclude, will I stay at Leonardo again? Of course! At the time of booking, I only expected one thing: to stay for the night. But didn't expect the little touches to out exceed what I originally intended stay here for. Wish I could stay for longer, thanks Leonardo Hotel, Plymouth!
Absolutely lovely as usual. Please tell trip.com that check in at the Cliffden hotel is not 11am to 06am Check in is 4pm and your website is misleading people. This is very naughty from Trip
GGuest UserThe hotel itself was nice; can’t fault it. Our room however, had a weird, stale smell and was off-putting, with no way to ventilate the room by opening the windows, as you cannot open them - A/C is not a natural ventilation.
Bed was comfortable, slept perfectly fine, just not nice waking up with the smell, as mentioned before.
Breakfast was good, although I’ve had better.
The hotel is in a good location for a city centre stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Reception excellent. Bar staff excellent, restaurant staff excellent. The room was very clean and well laid out. Tea and coffee making in the room. Bed was very comfortable. The room was cleaned during our visit, bed made, cups replaced, etc. We were on the 5th floor and the lift was always available, although it was quiet. We ate at the hotel on the first night and the food was very tasty with quite a good selection, as well as a good selection of drinks at the bar. We were advised of a special offer if we joined the Leonardo Advantage Club of 15% off drinks and food, when paying off a tab which really helped. We booked a breakfast for the first morning. Breakfast is buffet style with all sorts of juices, coffee, cereals, yoghurts, etc. It was a very good selection for this size of hote. Breakfast was served between 7:00am and 11:00 am and our only criticism was that when we got to breakfast at 10:00am, some of the hot buffet items were warm going on cold. We were told that this was a problem with the hotplates but we felt that the hot food should have been checked more thoroughly. To the hotels credit, we were compensated for the breakfast problem. All in all we had a great 2 night stay and would stay at this hotel again.
Loved our stay. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier- nothing was a bother. Beautiful room with balcony. Peaceful. Great food. Loved the free shuttle bus to the town centre - very handy. Wish we’d been staying longer.
Booked this hotel for one night for me and my 2 kids, unfortunately when arrived to the hotel they couldn't see my kids in the system...however kids stay there for free so it was not trouble at all. Hotel is clean, comfortable, quiet and very close to the harbour. Would definitely book it again:) There was a lovely gym at the same floor where our room was.
